this is the second time i've used this swedish facility for lab work. i am not reviewing any of the doctors here, to be clear. the first visit was in the summer and i literally walked in at 7:30 and was out within 10 min. this second trip was in the winter and i walked in for lab work at 8am to a full waiting room. the check in procedure isn't immediately clear, especially if you've never been here before. there's a person seated at a computer and a clipboard on the counter adjacent to them. you come in and sign in, and the person will ask you if you have lab work to do, who the doctor is ordering it and your name. once you've done the verbal and written check in, you sit down and wait for your name to be called. i usually ask the phlebotomist to use a butterfly and the last time i was here, the person told me they didn't have any; seemed odd to me. i try to be polite and not tell these people how to do their jobs however i've been told by enough people that they appreciate a patient knowing their body and giving them tips to extract blood painlessly and successfully. it seems to be the luck of the draw (pun intended) as to who you get and how they treat you but what i aim to avoid with small veins is having someone cocky digging around and leaving me with bruises. this visit, since it was essentially standing room only, one of the techs came out and offered me a rolling stool to sit on, which i thought was super nice. i waited close to 30 min to be called back but once they did start calling people, the waiting room emptied out and you could tell they were working their hardest to get through the list of names and people waiting. the person who actually took my blood did a great job, used a butterfly and i was in and out in 5min! special shout out to the person i checked in with at the beginning who called me up to verify/clarify the tests the doctor wanted completed since we'd had multiple back and forth mychart conversations and there were multiple orders. it all got cleared up and i was on my way having had a pretty good experience except for the initial wait, which may not be able to be avoided at certain times of the day. read more

Will not return calls when you opt for a return call instead of waiting on the phone. Nurse claims to have called you two times on your cell phone but no missed calls or messages at that number. When you get through and complain about no return call for 4 days after a positive COVID diagnosis, the nurse gives you incorrect information and refuses to prescribed Paxlovid. She said i couldn't get it because i am over 65. Did my research and CDC says I SHOULD get it based on my age. She had it completely backwards. Feel confident in the care they are giving? This clinic has deteriorated very badly since December 2020. Very unfortunate to have a great neighborhood medical practice run into the ground like this. Switching to online care with Plushcare. Used them after the Swedish nurse gave me bad info and they were great. Fast, responsive, informed and responsive. I rated them 5 stars! read more

Ive been a client or patient at Swedish West Seattle for years. I had a wonderful doctor that retired, then I had a good dr at internal medicine, the family practice and internal medicine split to two different offices, i was at internal medicine on 41st Ave SW. My doctor retired and I was assigned another doctor I didnt care for, they brought her in and apparently gave her two doctors pts so she decided to leave, I was not able to see anyone in internal medicine, even though I have been a pt with Swedish zWest Seattle for years. They said two doctors in family practice could take the transfers. My advice is to see your doctor at least once a year for a yearly checkup or wellness visit. That is if you want them to stay your doctor. Swedish family practice also known as primary care id a big office and they have a lot of doctors. They are on 4100 Sw Alaska st. This was a good clinic in years past but the pandemic and bridge being out have changed the dynamic in our neighborhood. West Seattle is home to a significant portion of Seattle's population which is increasing every day. So, with people not leaving the area because they work from home or are unemployed or don't want to deal with long detours, they have moved their care to this clinic. For over 15 years, I used to be able to see my doctor the same day or within a couple of days. Now it's over a month to see any doctor. Once I tried it and just waited a ridiculously long time, 5 weeks to be seen. My doctor put forth minimal effort. The nurse who checked me in did a professional job but not the doc. I guess docs are overworked? The people who answer the phone are short with me and rude, abrupt. I have lately gotten care the same day online or at urgent care sites. Never thought I would see a clinic devolve into a situation like this. I have had such great care in the past, such good memories. We took our kids here the entire time pediatrics was at this location and continued when that practice moved. It's sad and I can't believe I am writing this review. No help from them in terms of information for finding a PCP offered by the receptionist and got a little giggle when told they had no one available. I have to update my review and mention the specific MD that I saw for two reasons: 1)It's not fair to have my review broadly taint any of the other providers at the clinic. My review is specific for my experience with my MD 2)After reading online reviews of my specific MD it's clear that I wasn't an isolated case and she is routinely dismissive towards patients who don't agree with her plan. Anyone hoping to establish care with her should be aware. -- I have generally had decent experiences at Swedish WS Primary Care- appointments were easy to make and were on time, my PCP Ellen Juhl seemed pretty thorough, and it was down the street from my home. I think in general, for run of the mill issues like upper respiratory infections, routine physical or Pap smears, STI testing, chronic disease management- this clinic/Mad would fit the bill. For anything else, or additional concerns that you have about your body that she may not routinely see or have experience with- expect your concerns to be dismissed. If you try to make a case and discuss it further, be prepared to be shut down. I get that there may be patients who read something in a newspaper and make ridiculous requests. I'm a health professional with a terminal degree, clinical and research experience, and I offered to provide actual peer reviewed articles for cases that would challenge Ellen Juhl's plan for the issue I came to be seen for. She declined to review these and said it wouldn't change her decision. I'm sorry, Swedish, but if you are employing physicians who discourage an actual academic discussion using peer reviewed literature, you don't deserve me as a patient. I would probably have been more understanding if Ellen wasn't so condescending during my visit. But she was and I immediately transferred my care and my husband's care to another clinic. read more

After living in West Seattle for a few years, I realized I needed to find a new doctor closer to my residence. Swedish is on California Ave. -- easy to find and close to my apartment, so I thought I'd give it a try! And I'm so glad I did. Jill Summerfield is my doctor, and she's simply wonderful every time I go in. She has this sweet mom-ish quality that makes you feel instantly at ease; plus she really listens and takes her time with your appointment. As for Swedish, I'm very happy with the service. The office is clean, parking is convenient (underground free parking) and the front desk girls are friendly and efficient. Another thing I LOVE is that when you walk in for an appointment, you are in the office within 10 minutes. There is no 30-45 minute wait here. Most notably for me, a year ago I had an extreme pain and needed to get in to see someone right away. I called in the early afternoon, and another doctor stayed after hours to see me for an emergency appointment, same day!! He was also friendly and helpful. I in turn was grateful to get the medication and help I needed on such short notice. If you live in West Seattle, Swedish is a great choice. read more

After much online research, I tried to book an appt. with Bruce Bonsack. The website said that he was accepting new patients and to call to get an appt. First attempt, waited on line 28 mins only to be disconnected without an answer. Second attempt, waited 14 mins to find out that Bonsack only has appt's into October; then upon further inquiry, told that he is no longer accepting new patients. Very frustrating. Any physician that has such a poor phone system and misleading status on its website, must not care much about patient relations. On to another doctor! read more

Went to meet Dr. Hott and check out the Swedish Physicians in West Seattle. The parking is a little confusing, but no big deal. There is a side lot as well as an underground lot with an entrance. Probably good to know if it's raining and your loading your kids in there. The office itself is rather large and has a nice waiting area. There are a number of children's books and a mirror box to keep children busy. The receptionist were nice and conversational. I kind of get the sense that this is a no-nonsense kind of healthcare factory. I'll be surprised if anyone there ever remembers my name or that of my children. But, we'll see! I LOVE this clinic! This week was PERFECT EXAMPLE of good care, health/wellness first and an amazing doctor! After losing our son in 2016, my doctor at Swedish left the office. I tried a doctor across the water where we moved... AWFUL! In 2 years I've been seen ONCE for 5 minutes I've been having some concerns and called Swedish, the young lady who answered wasn't rushed, listened and immediately got me an appointment THE SAME WEEK! Versus the other place, was 5 MONTHS out Today I got to see Doctor Pena and she was AMAZING! She spent time with me, really listened, had incredible suggestions and went above a beyond. This clinic has always made me feel safe, at home and taken care of. Although I will not get Dr. Pena as my new Primary. I look forward to meeting my new doctor there in March. I took recommendations from friends and interviewed several PCP's in West Seattle. In the end my son and I both agreed with confidence that our choice was Dr. Butler. Unfortunately, I inherited a doctor that is archaic in his bedside manners, because he fails to recognize that we have access to medical information on the internet and we are intelligent enough to carry a meaningful conversation about our treatment. I cannot agree more with the first 2 reviews I just read! I've been a patient there since moving back to Seattle 14 years ago. I last saw a Dr. there in 2015 that had moved to a clinic over in Bellevue, after seeing 3 or 4 others that have since moved on. The extremely rude bitch, yes, I said bitch, at the desk said "I wasn't a patient there"! I was, and have been every time I've been ill since 2003. She said she'll have to "see if it's ok for her to make an appointment for me and get back to me within 24 hours". You know what? That's ok....I'm not a patient there now and never wil be again! Go to hell, Swedish! Guess what? They never got back to me!! Can my family sue them for several billion, if I die now?! Follow up: They called about 10 days later saying "I was approved to transfer my care" to one of their other doctors. Haha, no thanks. Guess they read my Yelp review and got scared. I've been with Swedish Physicians since day one and since the change from Providence and even before that, Medalia Healthcare so since 1993. Though I have always gone to the Downtown location I'm considered a "New Patient" if I want to be seen at the west seattle location. This is a downgrade from the Providence/Medalia days where you could be seen at any location and be considered as an "Established Patient". Patient charts are electronic records now so you would think you would be able to be considered "Established" by all locations. Get with the times Swedish! read more

I have been going to West Seattle Primary Care for annual check-ups for my kids and physicals for myself for years. I have always had great interactions with the employees at reception both on the phone and in person. A lot of the people complaining here don't realize that this is a primary care facility and that Swedish like a lot of hospital organizations go through changes and they need to exercise a little more patience. I live in West Seattle and am very grateful that this location serves our community. My primary care physician is Dr. Dagg. He is super attentive, responsive to your concerns and professional. People that use this clinic and love it should post reviews instead of these people that come in one time and expect to be in the system and have no issues at all. read more

I was just here in November 2016 for follow up after an auto accident and was able to see a doctor. Now in February 2017 this clinic says I cannot be seen, due to a management decision that says, since I haven't seen my primary care doctor since 2014 I must go through their system as a new patient with a wait list into June. I have pain in my appendix and Swedish will not help, even after I've been going there for over 20 years. My first attempt to schedule an apt with the receptionist they said a nurse would call me back. I waited all day in pain with no call. When I called them back at the end of the day that's when they told me about these changes and the reasons why they would not see me. Bad business read more

It's not worth dealing with office staff in order to see my doctor. Doctor Erdman and his medical assistant are wonderful. But the office staff - both scheduling and front desk reception - are truly the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Here is an example. I have been the only person waiting in line when three receptionists are sitting at the desk. I have watched them look directly at me, not acknowledge me in any way, and then look back down at their computers. here is another example. Today I called to make a routine appointment. When the receptionist (who told me her name was Ashley when I asked) answered, "Swedish West Seattle" and then proceeded quietly carrying on a conversation with someone else in her office. When I asked her what she was saying, she ignored the question and in a rude tone said, "how can I help you?" I have mentioned this issue directly to my doctor, who seemed to take it seriously. But this ongoing issue of extremely poor customer service seems to be a widespread problem. To give you a sense of how difficult it is, I will often drive 30 miles to my previous doctor at Mill Creek Family Practice instead of the 1 mile to this Swedish Office. I truly hope they take meaningful action on this serious problem. I would like to be able to receive care from Dr Erdman and support this organization. read more

Beware dealing with administrators and billing folks... which is a shame because my doctor is terrific - but at what price? My recent visit was listed on my Explanation of Benefits as an "office visit", but the all-important underlying code (there are several unique codes that could equate to an office visit) translated to a charge of $280 (or $175 based on the Aetna negotiated rate). Aetna explained the criteria for the particular code that was listed. I didn't (and don't) believe my visit met the criteria so I called the Swedish-WS billing office to inquire. The gentleman (I'm being charitable) I spoke with was very defensive and clearly in the wrong job. Among other things, the charge is based on time spent with the doctor and number of diagnosis. So, for example, if you complain of being tired, your doctor might tell you that "it could be A... or B... or C... or D". And that could be recorded as four distinct issues/diagnosis. There's a lot of trust involved in billing decisions (as I now know) - and your trust might best be earned somewhere else. On the other hand, if you're independently wealthy, you may (or may not) find the right doctor at Swedish-WS. read more

I've only visited this office a couple times, but so far my experience has been great! A couple times I just came to the lab here for blood work; everything went painlessly and professionally and I was happy with the service I received. Today, though, I came to establish a relationship with Dr. Thomas Erdmann, who I plan to be my primary care physician. My regular doctor, who was at South Lake Union left abruptly (at least to me); I had been coming in regularly about chronic health concerns. When I called for a follow-up appt, the receptionist said, "Oh, she's gone." It was kind of nerve-wracking to think of having to find another MD asap. I decided to try to find a doctor/clinic at the West Seattle Swedish clinic, since I live over there. I decided to try to get an appt with Dr. Thomas Erdmann after reading several stellar reviews. I liked him a lot the minute I met him - I felt that he was very respectful, a good listener, fun to talk with, very personable, knowledgeable...I felt a level of trust immediately with him that I don't often feel with practitioners. I am very happy that I decided to set up an appt with Dr. Erdmann. I have read several bad reviews of the front desk staff - my experience was quite the opposite. The staff I spoke with was friendly and very professional. Another review mentioned some minuses in terms of the parking situation; again, my experience was the opposite. I'm used to going places downtown, Capitol Hill, South Lake Union, where parking is either difficult to find, or it's an expensive pay lot. West Seattle has covered parking, a large lot of outdoor parking adjacent to the building, and ample on-street parking. You will never have to worry about not getting a parking spot for your appointment, and it's all free. That said, I am not sure how good the parking situation is for a disabled person- it could be harder for someone with mobility issues. As I mentioned before, I've only come here a handful of times. But my experience at Swedish West Seattle and with Dr.Thomas Erdmann has been great. read more

I learned today that because I am healthy and have not needed to see my Dr. at the West Seattle clinic for 3 years, that I've been removed/discharged from her practice and I now need to find a new Dr. This is a new policy with Swedish, so if you love your Dr. and do want to be kicked to the curb, get in and see them...they want your money whether you need Dr care or not. I however, am very healthy, have not needed to see a Dr! Not to mention that within these past 3 years, 1+ of those being during covid, I did not need to see a Dr. Although they still take and review my test (mammogram) results and such. Also noting, that just prior to covid I did try to get in to see my Dr., as I had shingles. I called the clinic and ask to be seen about shingles and they stated they could not see me for over 2 weeks, and that I should go to a urgent care walk in clinic. I did...I had shingles and was prescribed medication. Due to this horrible experience, I am now going to UW Medicine and taking my family with me. I will never use Swedish again. read more

In the last few weeks I have had great service at this location, so updating my stars and review. I used Mychart to have prescriptions refilled that I ran out of and also requested a letter for my insurance; in both cases the response time was prompt and I was able to get what I needed. I also saw Dr Okorn today for my annual visit. As usual I had to make the appointment several weeks in advance, but that's ok for an annual. Also as usual she was prompt, she listened, she was caring and attentive. read more

If you're looking for mental health counseling services this is not the place for it. Swedish's "Mental Health" department should come with a rope and some razor blades. They seem quick to pump you full of pills, but if you need to just have a "talking session" they, according to their website can offer you shock therapy, addiction therapy or well...that's it. And make sure they don't put your appointment date in wrong because I was very early for my 11/8 (Nov.8) appointment as opposed to 8/11 (Aug. 11, the actual appointment date). If there were a glimmer of trust left after what I've experienced with them (been asking since January for a counseling appointment) today they pretty much nose-dived the plane right into the swamp. When I finally did get in to see someone they took me to an exam room with the table that has the stirrups. On the inverse, would any of you women reading this feel OK going to a gyno appointment where there's a couch and some candles burning? Uh huh. My mom died this past Thursday and I *really* needed to talk to someone but according to Swedish I seem to either need shock therapy or "come back when you're addicted and we'll help you out". Their "Infant Circumcision" section on their website is more complete than their "Mental Health Services" section so that's a red flag. At this point I think they want me to get all pilled up so they can treat me for something they're more comfortable with, something more tangible than a person who is in a lot of anguish at the moment. If you're reading this Swedish, I really am disgusted with you right now. Way to drop the ball. It's like you guys are walking around half-awake and eventually you're going to hurt someone with a misdiagnosis or drug prescription. Please stop Pokemoning on duty because that's all I can ascertain at this point as to your complete and utter lack of professionalism. And for the love of all that's sacred, please stop advertising your "Mental Health Services" online because there's laws against such things as quackery. Clearly you're not set up for counseling and I'm going to go down this rabbit hole a little further and see if there's a government agency I can lodge a complaint with regarding this. Your inability to provide the services you advertise has seen me devote this entire day to "dumping my mental sludge", one way or another. All I wanted to do was talk to someone in an acceptable environment and your mental healthcare seems to be merely a funnel to the GP for yet another prescription for more drugs. Bravo. read more

I don't bring my kids to Swedish in West Seattle but I used to. The doctors there are pretty good and there is always lots of talk among the Moms in West Seattle about which one they like better. This review isn't exactly about the doctors, but I'm bumping this up from a 1 to a 2 because they actually do have good doctors. I'm rating this review low because I recently took custody of my 4 year old niece on as a FOSTER CHILD. Along with her came the wonderful DSHS insurance. I bring my kids to Group Health and I didn't call them because I believe that is only for members so I called Swedish to make an appointment for her because I was required to bring her in to the doctor within 5 days of her coming to my home. Well....I call Swedish and they refuse to see her with DSHS because WE DIDN'T LIVE IN THE RIGHT ZIP CODE! We live in 98136 and you have to live in 98116 in order to see the doctors there under DSHS. Excuse me, but 98116 is the most wealthy zip code in West Seattle so they are discriminating against 3/4 of all kids in West Seattle on DSHS. Shame on you! read more

If there was a zero star that's what I'd give. I have never been treated so indifferently and unprofessionally at a doctor's office except for the last time I went to Swedish west Seattle. There are some terrific docs there. I know because I have worked with them. But they are not accepting new patients. Swedish needs to pull its socks up. Just a few years ago my husband visited a Swedish ER with blood in his urine. A ct scan showed too many cysts in his kidneys to count, and the md without exam decided it was probably his prostate. Now he carries a correct diagnosis of poly cystic kidney disease. When the receptionist asks intrusive Demeaning questions there's a problem. I was a doctor for 40 years. I hope I have never treated a patient the way I was today. read more

I feel the doctors no longer take the time to be informed on common issues and either downplay my concerns or refer me to someone else. Dr Jill summerfield and staff Cannot walk today from back pain. Left 3 voicemails with the company to resend my referral to the back doctor so I could get in. Finally I get told at 430pm, that the doctor won't see me anymore and I need to see another doc in the practice. Even though she has been seeing my mom for years. We wanted to keep the same doc so the doc knew our medical history. I have to come in and pay again to get the same referral to another back doctor for insurance purposes. It's a joke they can't just fax it over for me. Now I have a wasted day in pain and need to pay another doctor to write up a referral to another company. It would have been nice if they informed me of this when I called in the morning or if they just re sent my referral. read more

I thought my experience with this location might be an isolated experience, but after reading the other reviews, I realized it is not. While over the years we have experienced very good support and care, over the course of the last year it seems to be diminishing. Is it due to over booking, not hiring the right people ..? Not sure why, but I do know the result is doctor assistants that seems be very clinical, short, impatient, authoritative in behavior. They behave more as a gate keeper. Swedish need to work on customer service. Requested to have a conversation with the doctor, was told "the doctor would not be calling me, my question could wait until my next appointment." I have an elderly mother I was looking for help and guidance on assisting with her care. Instead I was met with phone call from a nurse that told me what they wouldn't do. Rather than praising the positive feed back, Swedish needs take on honest look at the not so positive feedback. This is an opportunity to really take a look at what organization they want to aspire to be for their patients. One exception I have found is the scheduling staff, they take the time to listen and care. The rest could learn from their example. read more

My usual Swedish doctor is at the Cherry Hill campus and appointments generally shoot out for weeks. For emergencies and prompt service, we've been coming here and so far I've been satisfied with the service. Honestly, I think the speediness of this place has been great. The front desk people are pleasant, they generally ask what the issue is, take notes for the doctor, and get you all set to go in a few minutes. I've never had to wait more than 1/2 hour, which is fair considering it's walk ins, (first come first serve) not complaining here. If you're coughing, you'll be asked to wear a mask, FYI. I came in on Monday to get checked out because I've been sick for almost three weeks. I've relied on over-the-counter cough medicine but noticed my symptoms lingering. Dr. Ruvkin's PA was really nice, he administered a strep throat test and also took my temperature. Super patient... I couldn't catch my breath and he made sure I was okay before having me do all the routine procedures. Dr. Ruvkun is thorough and reassuring, which I appreciated. No one has quite understood what's been going on with me the past few weeks, misdiagnosing it as a sore throat and cold. I knew it was much worse and so as much as I hate going to the doctor, I am so glad I paid this place a visit. Turns out I had a pretty severe sinus infection, swollen and inflamed tonsils and needed antibiotics to help clear it. I appreciated him taking the time to ask me what's been going on with my throat the past few weeks and for my pain level. Also, he told me what he was prescribing me and told me all about what it's treating, how long to take it and the possible side effects. He even wrote me a note for my employer so that I could rest a few days, because I literally felt sick to my stomach from the antibiotics and completely wired from the codeine lol. If you don't feel like parking at the Cherry Hill location and you're coughing your lungs out, come here! Or whatever issues you have, in and out pretty quickly! Don't wait... I've learned my lesson lol. NOT FUN! read more

I recently moved to Seattle and needed to establish care with a new primary doctor. I am so glad I hit bull's eye on the first try with Dr. Hyde. She is patient, a great listener, and has such a warm smile. Though this is just the beginning of our patient/doctor relationship, I feel that I made a great choice!! I've visited this center three times between 2008 and 2016. Unfortunately they were not very helpful and I felt like the front staff weren't happy to work there. I'm a very healthy individual and rarely see a doctor. But the times I've visited two different doctors and a Physician's Assistant at Swedish, my care was hurried, my questions were dismissed and one time when I was prescribed medication and it made me sick, Swedish didn't respond to my voicemail message of the reaction. Recently, I tried to set up an appointment thinking, maybe I've just had bad luck. But, I received the same hurried and dismissive response with the front desk. I won't go back there again. I tried them so often because of the convenience of being in my neighborhood and my medical issues were minor (to me). My three visits covered: a minor toe injury, follow up of that, and food poisoning. read more

Sad to read others have had terrible experiences here. I've been coming here for over 4 years now and have never had a bad experience. I've been met with only kind and professional staff and absolutely trust and feel cared for by my primary physician Sierra Pena. I've been to their derm center as well and had good experiences as well as their lab team. My husband has been coming here longer than I have and has had a great experience as well! We are both able to have discussions with our physicians about our care and feel they take our stances on our treatments etc. seriously and respect them. Our pediatrician is located in the Swedish West Seattle location and we can't say better things about them! The garage is kind of a pain (tight spaces and dark lit) and the elevator is really slow to get to the 2nd floor where the lobby is but overall, I think it's worth the convenience of having your doc right there. They have two separate waiting rooms (one for healthy kids & one for sick). Not sure everyone understands the difference but it's a nice thought. They are also open on Sat's for about half a day. So for those dreaded flu shots or boosters or just having a sickly child, you don't have to run off from work to get them in to see the doc. Love Dr. K and he's been great in this journey of parenthood. We love seeing him of all the docs there. read more

I've never looked forward to calling a physicians office that is, until now. I'm always extremely impressed by the speed at which things are handled and with professionalism. Dr Erbmann is the best doctor I have ever been to. Thorough, patient, open-minded and seriously compassionate. I never wait more then 2 minutes to see him and always leave feeling like I've received the best care. I have seen 3 other doctors in this office and they can't even hold a candle to the care that Dr. Erbmann provides. I would also like to point out the office staff here: Lisa and the gentleman that work at the desk are such a joy to talk with and I never feel rushed, never feel like they get annoyed with my silly questions and they are both so kind. Karen in the billing office is just fantastic. I've had to talk with her several times and always hang up the phone with a HUGE smile on my face. She is a gem and knows just about everything. So far so good!!! There were a ton of bad reviews so I was skeptical to come here. I went here for my 1 year old sons pediatric care. I've only had one visit so far but plan to go back for all of my sons dr appts. I was pleasantly surprised with how large, clean, accommodating, and friendly the staff was. Dr Herrin is who I scheduled with and he took his time during my child's 1 year appt and let me ask all the questions I wanted and took time to explain important things to me. I didn't feel rushed at all which had been the case with my last pediatrician. He was very kind. There are many pediatricians to choose from so you can try or meet multiple and pick who works best for you. read more

I went to Dr. Okorn after I found out I was pregnant in 2017. It was my first pregnancy and naive to the whole process. I was told that I had to confirm my pregnancy in the office, which to me was unnecessary since I definitely knew I was pregnant but as it being my first experience, I went in to follow protocol. She gave me the rundown and then told me about the appointments I would have to make during which weeks of my pregnancy - no help with actual dates to make appointments. I had to figure out the math on my own which was a bit frustrating because I also had to work around the availability of the other offices I had to make them at (i.e, ultrasounds etc.). I ended up miscarrying at 12 weeks. After messaging Dr. Okorn twice about my continuous spotting and 2 heavy bleed-outs, she only recommended I come in for an ultrasound about 5 days later. Her nonchalance was not what I would expect from a woman who delivers babies and cares for other women. I ended up seeing Dr. Blunda because Okorn wasn't available and almost 2 weeks later went in for a DNC. Once I miscarried, Dr. Okorn only followed up with me ONCE via the online messaging system. It was a lonely and traumatic process. Her nonchalance and lack of communication was extremely disheartening and I would NEVER recommend any woman go see her for care. Maybe this place is good if you have the flu or some other basic medical need but Okorn and this office will always be an example of what medical care should NOT be. I've gone to NW Women's Alliance in First Hill and the care is above and beyond what I experienced at this office. read more

I go here to see Doctor Dagg. He was new when I started seeing him as my Doctor. I never really saw one person until I first meet him. I have been really happy with him. He is a good doctor with some humor in him. I like to talk about other things sometimes while seeing the doctor, and he was up to that when I first meet him. Clean place all the time, great staff that is friendly all the time. The only thing is getting in sometimes to see him. Its hard to make a quick appointment, but I think that's happens most places. read more

Dr. Kenneth Mayeda has been my primary physician since he managed his own clinic on Beacon Hill for many many years. Since transitioning to Swedish West Seattle, I was fortunate to maintain our family's care with Dr. Mayeda. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and takes the time to listen and respond effectively. We value his service and pray he continues serving in this capacity at the sacrifice of retiring. His examinations are thorough and comprehensive and his advice, reliable. Highly recommend his practice! read more
