I very much like my doctor Sara Beneviste so far. She's kind and listens well, which is very important in a family doctor / general practitioner. It is pretty easy to get in for an appointment within a week or two. The office staff seems much better than the Magnolia location. I appreciate this very much after years of dealing with their surly and mostly unhelpful staff. Parking kind of sucks. I'm probably just being a wimpy jerk, but I feel like they could be a bit kinder and gentler with children's immunizations. My flu shot was very quick and painless, while I found my small child's to be a violent stab. He was wiggling and such, but holy hell, he already has a huge fear of needles. Keep in mind his last two visits he had shots both times. Their bedside manner with children aside from 12" away jam-it-in of needles is actually very good. Very grateful to the doctors and staff at this Swedish location. My son and I are both patients of doctor Miller's and followed him over here from South Lake Union. This location has a much cozier feel and the parking situation is much better. All that aside, my 14 month old son has had a few scares and the staff has always been able to fit us in same day with other doctors. Being able to reach an actual human being when I call was such a welcomed surprise when time is of the essence. Dr. Miller is just all around amazing. I almost didn't write this review because he's always booked out about a month in advance. My son and I are able to do back to back appointments and the convenience is everything when you're a single mom. Dr. Miller finally got me back on my proper meditation after my son was born. I thought I was going to have to jump through the hoops that always come along with that, but he made it easy and made me feel so comfortable. I finally feel balanced and like me again. Thanks guys! I saw Dr. Juliann Gaydos-Gabriel a few months ago for a pulled muscle in my neck. She was fine...pleasant enough that I was going to continue to see her as my primary care physician. Their office is a few blocks from my work and the receptionists were nice so what the heck? I have Group Health Insurance and was told they were in network but apparently she isn't because I received a bill for the entire $178 office visit. Last week, my son was diagnosed at Children's Hospital with H-Pylorie. His doctor said that everyone in the family needs to be tested for it. I just need to go to a lab and do a breath test. Found one that does that test...Swedish in Ballard. I call Dr. Gabriel's office to see if I can get a referral for the test and after her nurse asks her twice for me, I am told twice NO, she needs to see me first. See me for what? I have no symptoms...I just need to have the test done. See me for 5 minutes so I can ask for a referral and she can bill me another $178? Hells NO! I won't be going back. I really wish I could find an honest Dr who isn't just out for the cash. read more

It feels a little weird writing a Yelp review for my doctor's office (but then again, why shouldn't doctors get rated just like any other business? I digress), but I feel like I need to show them some love. I've now been to at least 4 of the (female) doctors at this clinic, and I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with all of them. If I didn't already have one of them as my primary care doc, I would have a hard time choosing! Seriously, I always feel comfortable talking about whatever is going on with me medically and I often walk out feeling like I had a conversation with a friend. I feel like a lot of these reviews came from people who felt angry enough about a random experience to post a review, but as someone who has a tendency to go to the doctor a lot (I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, guys), I feel like I've had a fairly representative experience. The appointments are almost never late, the office staff has been great, and they've always gotten me what I need whenever I call. I also can almost always get an appointment within 24 hours, which is a huge plus. For real, if you need a doctor and Swedish is in your network, go here. They will take good care of you. read more

I am not sure why people have such poor reviews of this clinic. The front desk and phone staff are amazing. They are always friendly, ALWAYS answer the phone, and never keep you on hold. Yes, I have never been placed on hold with this doctor's office. I have seen Dr. Benveniste for about a year now. She was my primary doctor for my pregnancy. She was amazingly responsive and had a great schedule (some days she offered very late appointments, and she offered very early appointments). Because I was pregnant I saw her quite frequently. She would always take me early if she could. And I have never had to wait past my appointment time to see her. On one emergency occassion I was not able to see Dr. Benveniste and had to see Gabriel-Gaydos. I was a little apprehensive given her really poor Yelp reviews. But, it turned out that she was quite thorough. Although she may not have had the best bedside manner, I appreciated how she followed up with the Swedish Hospital for me to make sure I could be seen. At any rate, she is no longer at the clinic. If you can't make the appointment on time, you can always call the clinic in advance. Like I said, I have never had to wait past my appointment time, and I think that's because they are so efficient. Which I guess, sometimes means they don't see late patients. Also, I think it's kind of ridiculous how people complain about how expensive seeing a doctor is. If you don't have insurance that covers you to see a doctor here at this clinic, don't go to this clinic! It's generally $200 for a 15 minute visit with ANY doctor. read more

I picked this clinic for my primary care needs primarily because of its proximity to my neighborhood. But there are several things I'm not pleased with, and if I move to a different part of town so that the clinic's convenience is no longer a factor, it won't be worth coming here. PRO's: - The number of doctors at the clinic means you won't have to wait long to be seen if it's urgent. - The clinic is across the street from a Safeway and just a few blocks from a Bartell's, so prescriptions can be picked up promptly. - The front desk and phone staff have always been extremely courteous and helpful. They are well organized and good about following up on questions or requests related to your records. - On a handful of occasions, I've had issues arise when I couldn't get in to see a doctor immediately but wanted some medical advice in the meantime. The nurses have been very helpful in these situations, if for no other purpose than to reassure me! - I usually schedule my appointments in the morning to avoid delays, but on the one occasion where they squeezed me in midday, I was still seen within 15 minutes of my appointment time. - Being in the Swedish system means your records are in a network available to all other Swedish clinics and hospitals, which was a factor in my choice to come here. I like knowing that there won't be any questions about your medical records as long as you are in a Swedish office. CON's: - This is obviously a busy office, and they enforce a policy that you are only examined for the specific purpose(s) of your appointment. Unfortunately, they don't make this clear ahead of time. I went in for my annual exam with 4-5 specific questions or issues I was concerned about and wanted my doctor's opinion. Dr. Benveniste informed me that there was "not enough time" in this visit to cover those questions, and that if I wanted to discuss it further or have her do a more thorough exam, I would need to return for another visit (an experience very similar to Christy S.'s). Wait, what?! If my yearly physical exam isn't the time to broach my ongoing concerns, what is? Am I supposed to make an appointment for every little malady? I thought giving a general health screen and checking on particular concerns was the purpose of your annual exam! This policy of cutting off your exam time/questions should be made clear from the start, or else there should be an option to email questions to your doctor ahead of time. As a healthy young person, I rarely see the doctor in between my yearly physicals, and it is important to me to get my questions answered while I have a chance. When I (or my insurance) am paying several hundred dollars for 10-15 minutes of the doctor's time, I believe they should do their best to answer my questions and certainly not rush me out the door or make me feel stupid for asking. This is also very different from the experience I had with my fabulous primary care physician in Washington, DC (Linda Assatourians, MD), who meets with you in her office after the exam to discuss her observations from the exam and any concerns. After that experience, I know it is possible to find a primary care doctor who will make me feel like she has time (and desire) to address my concerns. I hope I will have better luck with my next choice. - The office apparently does not generally do blood tests and cholesterol screening on young people. My previous doctor did a standard blood test on every patient and actually caught a couple of things that I was unaware of and which require routine checking. Despite requesting that this be flagged in my records, which I had transferred to this office, I must still remember to ask for the blood work and make sure it is scheduled for the morning of my physical, so that I don't have to make a return trip just for the blood draw. I wish they would just test me automatically, as my previous doctor did with all of her patients - it was really helpful (and sometimes surprising) to have your vitamin levels and cholesterol checked and explained to you. I'd be interested in hearing if others have had similar experiences with being rushed out of their annual exam appointments. I thought it was really weird and I am already starting to look around for other primary care options. read more

I had an appointment this morning at 8:30 with Shannon Shamseldin. Traffic was bad (due to an accident) and I called to say that I may be late. The receptionist said I had a 5 minute window. I made the 5 minute window according to their clock and my watch but apparently the computer clock was 2 minutes faster. They would not see me!!! 2 minutes! This isn't the first bad experience I have had here, but it is my last! Horrible! read more

During my preventive care visit, Dr. Gannell asked if there was anything I wanted to discuss. There was; we discussed it, though no action was taken. Then the bill came. I was charged for another type of visit on top of the preventive care visit. I had no idea such would be the case, so being billed for over $100 (after insurance) was a real shock. If you go here, beware that each sentence out of your mouth could add hundreds of dollars to your bill. read more

Some of the receptionists are friendly.... Last time I went to this place the Dr. I saw told me I had too many issues for one visit and that I would have to make 2 more separate appointments to address the other issues. For my main issue she said what the problem "might" be and to come back if it happened again. She didn't touch me to check for anything wrong. She just listened to symptoms and said to come back if it happened again. Everything she said I already read on the internet it was completely pointless. Horrible... the worst experience at a Dr that I've ever had. My other experiences at this office haven't been the best. Dr. Benveniste was nice. read more

I saw Dr. Gabriel. She's a nice doctor. But just like what Jami said, this place is all about money. I went to get a check up as I've not been in the doctor's office in a while. The procedure was nice and easy. Towards the end I asked if she can check on a callous on my toe that seems weird. Turns out it was a plantar wart. I asked if she can remove it and Dr. Gabriel said sure it's not a big deal. But before she removed it, I asked if it will cost a lot of money, then she said it's a simple procedure so I won't have to pay for it, if not much. She proceeds to freeze the wart of with liquid nitrogen and a Q-tip. Something that would cost $10. The next month I got billed for $303. Highly discourage anyone from going to this place. read more

I've now been to this clinic several times for various reasons and have been treated by two doctors, Dr. Gaydos-Gabriel and Dr, Greaney. Both physicians and their administrative staff have been nothing but warm, courteous and helpful. I've never had to wait for a long time to be seen, and when I called today to see how soon they could get me in (I have a pretty nasty case of flu), they got me in within the hour. While choice of physician/clinic is a very personal matter, I've had nothing but good experiences here. read more

There are several really wonderful doctors here who all seem to work together incredibly well. It's a small clinic, easy to get to and very friendly, but since it's part of Swedish they have all the resources of a large hospital available - including linked electronic medical records , etc. read more

Hello, Unfortunately Dr. Ken Anderson left the practice and now have a new Dr. Mark Liu. He was very engaging and I have no concern about the annual medical checkup that he conducted. I do have a big problem with a charge I got for $303 for a "skin lesion removal" - this involve spraying liquid nitrogen on 2 spots for about 10 seconds each. I wrongly assumed this was part of the annual medical checkup but unfortunately I was wrong. (in all of my previous regular visits this issue or treatment was never mentioned or carried out.) Is it perhaps too much to ask the Dr. to let you know that the treatment might not be covered or only somewhat covered, or perhaps I should have stopped him from carrying out the procedure and checked first with my insurance. I guess it's "buyer beware!" Sad when it costs $303 for at most a 1 minute simple treatment! UPDATE TO MY REVIEW: I wrote a letter to Dr. Liu questioning this charge of $303 and also called their Patient Care line as the front desk / reception at this location said that they could not do anything about the charge. Dr. Liu send me a one and a half page letter in the mail explaining that he didn't understand the charges for procedures as he was new to the practice, but he did have the charge cancelled. I notice other patients seem to have had the same very high charge levied for the use of liquid nitrogen being sprayed on a wart etc. So be careful if liquid nitrogen is being used!!! You could be in for a big charge that is not covered by insurance. read more

I have been going to this location for 5 years, as has my wife. I have found it to be quite a good experience. Physicians we have seen: Dr. Shamseldin (both of them) Dr. Belcher Dr. Szalay I have found them all to be good, efficient, to the point. Dr. Belcher even diagnosed something that was completely not obvious, resulting in proper treatment and recovery. During busy times like winter flu season, this office has been able to get me in within a day probably 75% of the time - I would call this quite good. Our daughter doesn't come to this location so I can't comment on pediatric care here. Regarding some of the reviews here on Yelp, people are wondering why they can't bring up their 5 other issues at the time of their physical. I think that people have the idea "from the old days" that their once-a-year physical is the time to unload a year's worth of problems on the doctor. In today's world it is really for a physical, preventative care, and lab review. The $15- $25 dollars they get from the insurance company for the visit doesn't pay for an hour and a half visit. read more

I was a patient at SPG from 1992 to 2007 and then again from 2014-2017 (I lived in Idaho in the gap years). I saw pretty much every doctor in the offices during those years. Dr. Belcher, Shemseldins (there are two), Dr. Anderson, & Dr. Ginnell are the preferred doc's at that location. Dr. Ken Anderson was my primary (and the best doctor ever). Dr. Belcher would be my runner up. However... now for why I gave 3 stars. The last 3 times I have visited (seeing new doc's each time), they wanted me to do a ton of tests, which I felt were unnecessary. They didn't have excellent beside manner (like the older doctors give). If you are lucky enough to see a Dr. there with 10+ years experience, it's a 5 star, but if you see any of the young doctors, it's clinical, and feels like a car repair place where they find a dozen things you need to fix..... Plus they stopped accepting Premera Heritage B, so I had to find a new Dr. read more

I saw Dr. Juliann Gaydos-Gabriel for my annual physical exam. She seems nice but like the other reviews, feels busy and has no patients for my questions. She took my temperature and blood pressure which I could easily perform at home as well，did some simple body check, then told me I was very healthy, because I am young!! What? What?What? I paid 200 bucks for these? I asked to do more blood test for cholesterol related exam, then she asked me to list all the items that I wanted to be tested. I mean, how do I expect to know all the medical words and list them one by one? Am I here for the advice? Update: I got my blood test result back. There are two items significantly out of the normal range. I am waiting for her advice. Then I got a message, saying I am with very good cholesterol. I bet she never carefully look at my result, just looked at my age and then right the message. Very disappointing~~ Don't waste your money and time in this place. read more

I agree with some previous comments about this clinic and Dr. Gaydos-Gabriel. Too bad it is close to my house, but one visit was enough to send me searching for a new PC (my previous PC moved out of state this year). It's tough finding a good match and sometimes reviews can help, but of course can also be misleading. Maybe it was just an off day for Dr. G-G and her assistant as they both had the worst bedside manners I've experienced in a long, long time. There was no sense that they really cared about me, and no handshakes or introductions either. I felt like I was in a clinic that operates like machinery. With that said, the folks at the front desk were extremely pleasant and helpful I don't usually like to say negative things about people, but when a service for my health is such a bad experience, I wanted to get it off my chest. read more

Catherine Smith has been a good doctor to my infant, but I had a horrible experience calling for help after hours, when my child ran a fever of 103.8. The clerk was rude, didn't actually write down how high my child's temperature was and got my cell phone number wrong (even though they have it in their system). As a result I only got a call from a doctor the following afternoon. Fortunately, the fever had broken by then, but I was scared to think about what could have happened. I moved my child to a different clinic immediately after that. It is worth noting that Swedish Greenlake did not even ask why I am changing clinics. read more

My primary Dr of 20 years closed his office to go into emergency med in Arizona. I was devastated. After seeing 3 female MDs within the Swedish system, I was referred to Dr. Anderson by a family friend. What an awesome guy. I've been seeing him for a couple of years now and my husband and friends see him now too. Front end staff and phlebotomy dept are excellent as well. read more
