Honestly, If I could give a zero star I would. I dropped my carpet cleaner off on Saturday March 30th, paid the service fee, and was told that by that Wednesday they would call and let me if I needed to purchase a part or it was ready for pickup. I never heard from them from that point until I called on April 16th. I was told that the person who worked on it was not there and that they would call me back. Once again, I did not hear from them until I called May 16th and was told that the "person" who worked on it was not there and that she would call me back. This time she did call and left a voicemail saying that it needed a pump and she recommended 3 new filters costing $85.51. I called back that same day and was told that it needed a pump and new belts (completely different than the voicemail). I informed her we only wanted the pump fixed to which she rudely replied that I would only be getting it fixed to break again. I reiterated that we only wanted the pump fixed and we paid another $52.98. She told me that it would be ready later that day or the next day. Once again, I received no response, so two days later on May 18th I called and checked in and was told it wasn't ready but it should be ready on Monday May 20th. On May 24th after receiving no call, again, I called back and asked about the progress and if they could tell me when I originally dropped the Bissell off. I was told they could not find me in the system and did not know when it was dropped off. Later, she called back and told me that now it need a water tank fixed and that she was waiting on that part to which I asked if she could tell me when I dropped it off. She replied May 16th (which was wrong it was 3/30.) I then told her this was unacceptable and she rudely replied that she could "put it back together and I can pick it up." I asked if anything was fixed after 2 months and she said no. I asked for my service fee back and she promptly said no. Currently, they still have the carpet cleaner and nothing is fixed on it all which is completely unacceptable. She (who identified herself as the owner) was extremely rude and the least they could do is give me my money back along with my broken carpet cleaner. I see the other positive reviews so maybe she has a bias to certain people since it seems I am the only one having trouble. read more

We have been going to sweeper world for 20+ years and always have a great experience. They are local and can repair and clean. They also sell vacuums. It is nice to have a local place where you can go in and try out vacuums to see what works best for you. They can tell you about them, demonstrate and show additional attachments that work for you. Very disappointed I just got home vacuum a small piece in my hall belt burned, this is why I took in they tried to talk me into 150.00 extra stuff. I paid over 80.00 and still have no vacuum. Be careful of course they want you to buy new I have. Simplicity not a cheap vacuum. read more

The people that work here are very rude. They honestly didn't seem to care whether they had our business or not. They absolutely do not honor the life time warranties they claim to carry on their vacuum parts either. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

The Simplicity vacuum that I bought from them in 1996 lasted over 20 years. I went into the store about a week ago and the very experienced owners showed me a variety of vacuums at different prices. I was allowed to try out as many vacuums as I wanted before making my choice. I am very pleased with my new Riccar commercial upright vacuum. It is a very good investment and I am very happy with its performance. I highly recommend this business. We took our vacuum to see about getting it repaired. It is over 10 years old so we were unsure if we want to pay the repair bill, only to have to get another vacuum in a few months. We decided to buy a new vacuum. The employees were very courteous and patient while we pondered our decisions. We bought a new Simplicity vacuum and are very pleased with our purchase. You are correct, it was last summer and I NEVER RECIEVED the free chemical (as stated). You are assuming my home is "Fifthy"? I returned it within 1 week, and truthfully it was so clean that if I had not been honest you wouldn't have known that I used it! I noticed it, still in the original box in the garage today and that is when I remembered I had not made the honest review and warning for others to "be aware" of "Sweeper World" of Terre Haute. There you have it folks! I ask you.... how do you know if you like a product if you do not try it? That is what a guarantee is for! So she is admitting that she does not honor a guarantee from her husband!That is exactly what the "agreement" was.... your husband said "try it, if you don't like it then return it!" You, "Angel"? were not even present when the agreement was made. You only ran my credit card and denied that "free chemical". This review is valid even if it is delayed at being done. You can say what you want in return but I still have it in the original box (only assembled and unassembled and repacked after I found out it wasn't any good! It wasn't even out of the box 15 minutes and you have no right to say it was "filthy" because you never even looked at it! I never took it in. I offered to show it to you but you absolutely said no! Why did you replace your old one with a different brand? Why didn't you use one of these? Exactly again! The product is not "as described!" I stand by my comments that you do not guarantee what you sell. I lost $60 in that mistake! I will shop the internet and the big box stores. Addentum;You are adding comments that are not there! I never stated it was a month ago! I said that I (attempted) to return it within a week of purchase and I said you were correct that it was last summer(about August) and that I was late writing the review. No where does it give a time limit to write the review. Just to clarify what you have attempted to manipulate. I specifically stated enough so you would know when the purchase(about August 2019 when your husband had returned from a medical absence); that the agreement was between Mr. Sweeper World and myself; that you were not present when we discussed the deal and that I attempted to return it within a week and I offered to bring it in however you would not allow it. I never asked you to sell it as new; I did offer a restocking adjustment and/a exchange of (chemical) products in the amount of the return amount and you absolutely refused to budge or negotiate! Had you tried to negotiate, I would still be buying chemical products from you however by no means would I buy another such product from you! read more

I would never recommend this establishment to a friend or family member! I went in for Shark filters, etc. As they appeared to be very pleasant and honest people, I purchased them and Mrs. Sweeper World assured me they were the correct replacements. Each time, I had to return them. Trying to be considerate, I would always purchase product for cleaning. I maintain a very clean home and like good products. Each time I went in, Mr. Sweeper World would corner me and insist that "this is the best vacuum I sell".... each time I went, it was a different one! It was hard to get away from him! On one occasion, he was insistent that I "try" the spin mop" that was on sale. He offered me 10% off and a free cleaning product stating that his wife would honor it because he made the deal. Since most their cleaning products are over $10.00 then I said I would "try it". When I checked out, she stated that the deal would not be honored, that he had been off work("due to illness") and that offer was no longer available. I settled for the 10% off. I took the spin mop home and my husband assembled it(yes, it required assembly". My home is always clean. I damp mop my hardwood floors about every 3 days for mild dust removal. I had capris on and felt the mop as it spin sending a mist onto my legs! I attempt to perfect the "technique"(he stated his son did the mopping at home and used one). I wiped the mop on the floor and the mop head did not have an adequate mop head and would have scratched my floor if I had continued to use it. I washed the mop head and my husband reassembled it and placed it back in the box. I took the product back within a week and he met me at the door and once again tried to sale me a vacuum. He once again said he would take it back; until his wife came over and said "no!"......I told her I understood if it required a restocking fee however she was still insistent that I could not return it. I told her in clear conscious that I would not be back and she stated that "she didn't care"....She wouldn't even look at the box and contents to see that although used, it was resalable as "used" like most of their products. I am sure it was because they were having a hard time selling them and wanted to "get rid of the poor product" and this time it was me! Do not be deceived by their quaint and Christian appearance. She is the boss and will let you know quickly!....He has no input! So do not trust what he says! Do not be deceived by their cute children on the commercials to "sell" their business. I personally do not believe this should be allowed. If they were really reputable they would not have "to sell" their children nor their product, as they would have a good reputation and that is all they really need! read more
