We called for help with a temperamental oven (not an emergency) and were able to get service scheduled with a few days. The technician, Dustin, thoughtfully called to let us know he was running a few minutes late, and he arrived exactly when predicted. He did a thorough inspection and magically got the oven working as it should again, without having to replace any parts. If he had been a less scrupulous and responsible professional, he could have charged us to replace a part unnecessarily. Instead, he left his contact info so we could let him know if the problem returned, with the plan to order the part then, and only then. Even though it was the end of the business day, he stayed longer to be sure the oven maintained its temperature correctly. Throughout, he was friendly and professional, a pleasure to work with. Although the business is located in Bloomington, they do calls in the Champaign-Urbana area for no extra charge. BK appliance answered a request from Yelp to repair my refrigerator which was not as cold as it should be. The appointment was three days out. When the service technician arrived, he asked me to explain the problem which was that the previous Saturday I noticed there was no ice from the ice maker. By morning the ice was soft in the freezer and the temp in the top was 46. The freezer was at 32. The first thing he did after that was ask me to turn off the circuit breaker for 10 minutes and then I turned it back on. He never pulled the refrigerator out from its nook. And only glanced inside to see the serial number. Then he listened to the fridge and said it was running and if this didn't reset it, it would be over $1000 to repair. When I asked what that encompassed he said he would have to take apart the entire refrigerator and that there was probably a leak. So they couldn't guarantee that after all the charged hours that it would work. He then said that will be $80. I was wondering why they couldn't just tell me that when I made the appointment why did he have to be here for me to turn the circuit off and on only to be told that it would magically reset or it would be too expensive to fix. I called another repair service and he was able to come out today (4 days later) and he took one look at the fridge and said that the former technician just didn't want to do the work required and that the compressor was bad. NO LEAK! He ordered the compressor. I would never call this company for anything. The only reason I did was because of the "good" reviews. Terrible service. read more

I would give 10 stars if I could. They contacted me over the weekend and set appointment up for the next day. Jason made sure I could still use the dryer while he got the part. By the time the part came something else went wrong so another part had to be ordered. Within a week my dryer was fixed. They give you a time they will be here not a window and they arrived early twice. Definitely would recommend BK Appliance and will use them for any future things. Very nice and very prompt. Almost a year ago we had Jason diagnose and fix our dish washer. Not only did he get right to the heart of the matter but he was able to level it and reinstall it correctly from when it was delivered by the store. Has been working like a champ ever since and quieter. We recently had our 27 year old washer go bad. Jason again diagnosed it within a few minutes and ordered a part. He then checked out our dryer and found the bearings had gone bad. Loved that he showed the broken parts to me and didn't expect me to take his word for it. Very thoughtful. He ordered these parts too. The parts came in and he had then installed in minutes. Both units are working like new and are much quieter as well. He saved us a lot of money. Got home after being gone for a month. The frig in the kitchen was at 68 degrees. Got ready to use the frig in the garage and it wasn't working either! Called the company I purchased both frigs from and they couldn't make it ou for 2 weeks! I looked on line and called BK. Wow what a break. The communication and timeliness of BK was outstanding. Their technician let us know exactly what was going on and how long it would take. We had follow up appointments which were all handled with the same professionalism. I called Jason to have my gas dryer repaired and he came the next day. He found the problem and ordered the part. He called to set up the follow up appointment and fixed the issue. While he was there, I asked a question about my dishwasher and he fixed it as well. He has wonderful communication and lets you know exactly what the issue is and gives a fair estimate of the cost involved. I cannot recommend Jason enough as he even adjusted my refrigerator door without me asking. He does amazing work, fast service and repairs, and is very cost effective as well.
