Burger and fried chicken places have popped up in Manila like acne on a teenager. There's always this new spot everyone's raving about and the hype hasn't stopped for Sweet Ecstasy. After seeing all these posts on how glorious their burgers were, we came here around 11:30 am with high expectations and a bloodhound's appetite. To describe it perfectly, you want to be wowed by something basic and find the magic in that simplicity. Under the hot sun, most came in to pickup orders and scram. We really don't mind dining with no AC. Service was very fast, 10 minutes ours were out, steaming hot. There comes the moment of truth! I never finish a burger in 5 minutes but I admit, tastes pretty impressive. Not too greasy and kissed with gooey melted American cheese. Cheese won me over. Beef is too salty but the meat blend has a good fat ratio. Kinda small, dwarfed by the brioche bun. They ought to offer bread choices like a plain sesame because brioche can become stale quickly. Must get a double next time. The sweetness of the pickle balances it out with the help of their special sauce. Disappointed with onion rings made with stale tempura like batter. Seemed it was refrigerated overnight.

Sweet Ecstasy on Jupiter Street is one of the burger outlets that does a burger right, probably close to the taste of an In-N-Out burger. The al-fresco dining area has a refreshing feel, but may not be comfortable during rainy or humid days. Ordering was easy when you know what to eat, and the wait time could take up to 10-15 minutes, but I didn't mind because it is still faster than the average restaurant wait time of 20 minutes. I had The Cheeseburger and the Ecstasy Fries. The cheeseburger looked it was prepared carefully; and the patty, comboed with its cheese, was indeed juicy complemented with caramelized onions. It was so delicious that you would wish you had more with the single serving. The Ecstasy Fries was ordinary, and I wished I had the Onion Rings instead. The place is indeed a great stop before heading home from work on a weekday or from a nightout on weekend.

Probably the most delicious burger in the Philippines! At an affordable cost. Closest to in n out burger you're going to get. I got the double when I was here in this monstrous mess is tasty. It could get messy but it's worth it. This neat location is in A very secluded spot on Jupiter street. Some nights this place can pack a crowd so if you're wanting to try it without a crowd go for lunch during the weekdays. Highly recommend there burgers and milk shakes. Definitely hits the spot if you're in the mood for burgers but warning you will be extremely full so best to bring big boy pants when visiting this establishment.

The closest to in and out burger! the burger is so juicy. the wings are so-so for me. One of manila's top burger joint! https://instagram.com/edubie for more foodpics =p

Get the Cheeseburger at least! I usually flank it with some wings and/or Kamote Fries

It's been a gastronomic two weeks. Why not cap it off with some #SweetEcstasyRounds! #MNL #burgers #nomnom I just noticed that it's been almost a month since hitting up @sweetxmanila. It's been overdue. Ate healthy most of the day just to save up calories for this haha. I was going to go Double, but wanted to hit up some Kamote Fries along with my Soy Honey wings. A side of Coke? Why not. For sure it's been over a month since having a sip of that carbonated corn syrup overload lol. I think I've only had less than a handful this year. Special occasions haha Meanwhile, I got some tips from Al, one of the owners... it seems they're Sriracha Lime wings are re-spiced to bring some consistency. If you've been there since the beginning, they had a Mild and Spicy version of it. It'll now be at Mild+, just enough of a kick I heard. I'll try that next time for sure. The other tip is that they seem to have some secret menu items. One of 'em is a deboned chicken entrée. Will give that a try for sure as well lol. Other than that, I miss their shakes. Again, if it's your first time, get the: Mud Pie if you like dark chocolate; or the Speculoos if you like milk chocolate.

Their cheeseburgers are SO good. If I could say that over and over again, I would because it's the truth. Often I've come across big burgers that don't necessarily deliver in taste, so when I saw the size of my burger at Sweet Ecstasy, I wasn't too blown away. But biting into it was a different story. Juicy and messy, (I'm no burger master but judging from the jus that came out of my burger) the patties have just the right amount of fat to keep the burgers moist. The cheeseburgers come with just lettuce, tomato, and cheese, which allows you to enjoy the meat without the unnecessary add-ons. Don't even bother with the ketchup and the mayo because you might end up compromising your Sweet X experience. Once known for their cookies back when they were still at Cubao X, Sweet X knows how to do sweet stuff as well as they know burgers. Just because you've made the trip to Jupiter and went through Makati's traffic, feel free to indulge in their milkshakes that are so sinful and thick, you'd want to run a mile right after. It is not a guilt free experience to dine at Sweet Ecstasy but it's definitely one of the best burger meals you'll have.

From its roots in Cubao Expo to its big move to Makati, this hole in the wall burger joint is doing nothing but getting bigger and bigger. But thankfully, they seem to like staying small, and we'd rather keep it that way too. Sweet Ecstasy serves up some classic, straightforward American comfort food. They're known for their yummy smoky, meaty burgers. They get very messy though. Chalk it up to the sauce being watery in consistency (and unfortunately in taste.) Be mindful of the possibility of spilling some on yourself! The bun tasted good too, though honesty hour, the bun I tried wasn't mine. My order didn't have a bun, because you can customize your order! Thank goodness for the lettuce wrap option; it gave me enough room to down their milkshake (I ordered the matcha flavor, and I liked it.) You can also opt to get just the patty. We got some onion rings to complement our burgers, but they weren't anything special, albeit cooked nice and light. Okay onion rings and messy sauce aside, a good and filling shall be had at Sweet Ecstasy, if you're willing to pay a little more for burgers that are a lot less fast food, (but still fast) and a lot more tasty! It gets humid and a little sticky when you dine here during the day, but I feel like that's part of the whole experience. It's a nice place for a nightcap, though.

I had just finished shopping for things I need for an upcoming trip and was really craving for a really good burger. Coincidentally, In 'n out burgers were being served somewhere in Greenbelt that day. I planned to get into the craze and line up, but later on decided to try out this new place along Jupiter Street that my friends have been raving about called Sweet Ecstasy. I didn't know what I was going to expect. I honestly didn't even know what kind of food they served but I did remember that they had milkshakes. Since it was a pretty hot summer day, it would've been perfect. I always thought that it was a big open air restaurant because of my friends' photos, but when I got there, there was a tiny little open space with a window for taking orders. After parking, we got down from the car and approached the cashier. To my surprise, they were serving burgers! Oh happy day for me! Being around musicians a lot, I only realized then why my friends were raving about this place. Apparently, one of the owners was Diego from Sandwich. No wonder I would see all these photos on my Instagram feed of their restaurant. After ordering some of their cheese burgers, Diego suggested we take them out and get in our car since the sun was hitting the restaurant directly. We agreed, and he followed it up with "Just get in your car and I'll bring you your food." We did as we were told. Sweet X does not serve alcohol, but Diego did mention that you can bring your own wine or drink and they'll just give you cups to put them in. Burgers are cheap and you definitely get what you deserve. When I got home, I immediately opened my order of Sweet X fries (which is their version of animal fries from In N Out) and just dove into it. Yum yum yum!! Then I bit my cheeseburger and immediately fell in love with all the flavors that my mouth couldn't understand. It was just the perfect merienda for someone craving for a burger. It didn't even make me feel bad about not lining up to get an In N Out burger earlier that day! I had bought my brother a burger too, which I contemplated giving to him cause I just really wanted more of it. But of course, being a good big sister, I had to share my burger. Though, he was a little pissed that I wouldn't share my fries. Hopefully one of these days, I get to come back to Sweet Ecstasy and try their other burgers. I spotted that they had some burgers without bread and other kinds of milkshake other than the delicious Matcha Green Tea Milkshake that we ordered. Maybe one of these hot summer days when I'm craving for a burger again. Or maybe next week. Or tomorrow. Or uhm, right now.

Are their burgers good? Yes Are they worth lining up for and sitting in the heat? Yeah, okay. But in my opinion, their burgers don't really live up to the name. You know what does? THE CHICKEN. The sriracha lime chicken wings are a steal at 200 pesos per order (3 wings = 6 pcs). For those spicy-tangy chicken wings, I would line up all day and sit out in the heat, sweating but happy, with a plate of these wings. Their milkshakes (and adult milkshakes) are also good, but only a bit pricey. One milkshake is more than expensive than a burger! :o Bonus, there's a washing station in the corner so you can truly enjoy licking off the sriracha lime sauce off your fingers, without the help of the plastic gloves they offer. There's also a big pump bottle of hand sanitizer by the counter, just in case you're really germ phobic.

If you want a good old-fashioned burger and fries. Then this us the place to go. You get 3 choices of burgers: Hamburger, cheeseburger, and double. They also have milkshakes and adult-milkshakes for thoughs that want to spice up there day. This place is in my top 5 for manila.

Sweet Ecstasy's Salted Caramel Milkshake, Cheeseburger and Sweet Potato Fries with Honey Sriracha dip. Can I get an amen?

Finally, a fast food joint that is simple and straight to the point, it keeps you coming back for more. Sweet ecstasy is our go-to place whenever we get hungry at late hours. They relocated from Cubao X to their new, permanent spot in Jupiter Street, Makati. I remember they used to sell their unique cookies paired with milk back in their old spot, but in their new store, they just focus on their good ol burgers, wings and fries among others. While I appreciate unique and innovative burgers, their classic cheeseburger is still my favourite burger of all time. I always have to pair it with their sweet kamote fries with honey sriracha dip, but you have to get there early because it's one of their bestsellers and they always run out of it! Their wings are also super good, my favourite would be their sriracha lime one. They also offer classic milkshakes and for adults, spiked milkshakes! A must try is their white russian which is made of vanilla ice cream with vodka and Kahlua. Imagine the feeling of tasting something so heavenly and delectable, calorie-induced food that gives you a euphoric rush similar to that of a drug but without all the drama. Sweet Ecstasy has the right amount of bad and a whole lot of good with its unique menu: from their juicy cheeseburger to their mouth-watering Sriracha lime wings, there's always something for everyone, even the pickiest eaters. Adults who are kids at heart would love their selection of milkshakes. From the classic vanilla to the more adventurous spiked milkshakes like Black Bear, Kahlua Mocha and White Russian. And if that's not enticing enough, their food are priced reasonably at Php 170 for a cheeseburger Php 160 for adult milkshakes and Php 200 for wings. Beware, this place is truly addicting.

I'm just happy to have stumbled across The Beef a few weeks ago. I've been to Hole in the Wall 2 or 3 times already yet I've never tried The Beef. It's an inconspicuous looking black and gray colored shop with a sign stating "The Beef" overhead. Maybe the reason I overlooked it the first few times I visited. Their menu is intriguing because it consists of only 3 items: burger, cheeseburger and fries. I went ahead and ordered a cheeseburger with fries and waited patiently. Little did I know what was waiting for me when I took my first bite into this burger. The burger is delicious and everything I look for in one: juicy, huge beef flavor and I particularly liked the salty, seared crust on the outside. The bun holding the burger appears to be brioche and is soft and spongy, which absorbs all the juices as you consume it. These 2 components alone make this possibly the best burger I've ever tried in Manila. The burger is also dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and other condiments which only enhance the experience. This thing literally had me daydreaming about it after my first visit and I kept bothering my girlfriend that we had to return and trust me, I will. Pros -One of the best, if not the best, burgers right now in the Metro. -Simple menu. Cons -Pricey. Burger and fries will set you back at least P350. -Fries are meh. Last but not least: Dill pickles on a burger? Yes. Raw cucumber and/or sweet pickles on a burger? NO, just NO. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

Honestly, I had no idea this place existed, but luckily was paying attention when our driver drove past and I saw a massive line out the door at 1am. Luck would have it our hotel was just around the corner. We walked by one evening and decided it was way to crowded. With over an hour wait and every table filled we also knew pictures inside would be nearly impossible. With a couple hours to spare the morning we were leaving, we walked over after breakfast to check it out and maybe order something small to share. Of course, the desserts caught our eye and the rest was history. 1 massive dessert later, 2 of us could not finish, but throughly enjoyed every bite we ate. A daytime visit was the best choice. We pretty much had the downstairs to ourselves for pictures and several 2nd floor areas were purposely non-seating areas so patrons could take pictures. I could have spent hours here and would definitely return. The collection is unreal. The 50's vibe/atmosphere was on point, and the dessert (the only food I can judge) was delicious. If we had a place like this in Los Angeles, it would be a total hit.

If you're looking for a cool casual fun place to eat/drink or hang out with a retro theme, you have to check this place out. It's open 24/7. This is an American diner-style restaurant. It has a unique gas station theme, with classic cars, memorabilia, and a vintage vibe. They offer American comfort food like burgers, pizza, pasta, and hearty breakfast plates but surprisingly their Filipino favorite dishes are so good. Ordered the hipon (shrimp) sinigang & the sizzling squid. Both were so good. Loved the sauce on the squid. Loved all the veggies in the sinigang especially the okra & kangkong (watercress/morning glory). This place is great for casual dining and late-night cravings. They have a bar for those who want to enjoy a drink while soaking in the retro aesthetic. I stopped in here twice during my stay in the area. I also tried their chicken & waffle. It was really good too. I wish I tried their desserts but I was too full both times. They have merchandise to purchase as well if you need souvenirs. Staff were friendly.
