We were the last ones and ALL the food was gone except for this minced meat and canned green beans. They had the audacity to give us basically one bite of potatoes and call it a serving when we watched everyone ahead of us have healing plates of chicken, potatoes, & cornbread. That was just poor planning. One of my friends didn't even get a cornbread scrap and they gave her more ground beef like that was acceptable. The food was bland too. I wouldn't get food from this place if it was the only place left open in that town. When I said they didn't plan it well her response was she made half chicken and half beef. Well, clearly that was a bad idea and you still didn't make enough side dishes. Nobody and I mean NOBODY wanted that ground beef. The lies were gross too... the dough was like leftover pastry dough with canned apple filling and a bunch of granulated sugar dumped on top of it. Unless something major changes, absolutely don't get food here or you'll be disappointed.

Linda pours her heart into the cuisine she shares with guests. Her homemade rolls were like little pillows of heaven! My husband enjoyed the lemon pepper chicken quarter and meat was fall off the bone. The flavor was delicious with a special little trick that Miss Linda shared with us. Sundays are a pay one price Meat & Three option to include a dessert too! I look forward to visiting on a Saturday when they offer brunch.

I'm not…read moresure how this bake shop wound up in rural north Alabama, but Christine's is the real deal! Open only Wednesday - Saturday during the day, Christine serves up mostly baked goods. She does also offer some soups as well as wurst and currywurst! Be advised that you generally have to order ahead for any kind of bread or brotchen. We sampled pretty much everything she had to offer in the late afternoon. Plum, cherry, and blueberry coffee cake as well as bienenstich (beesting cake). My mother, who grew up in the German ward of St. Louis and is from a German family, was overjoyed, as she was taken right back to her childhood. Perfectly crumbly, buttery crumb cakes with fresh fruits -- they were all delicious, but the plum was the best. I had a slice of bienenstich, which is a cake filled with vanilla custard/cream and topped with caramelized almonds. The cream was so mild and airy and paired perfectly with the crunchy, sweet almond topping. The owner and baker -- who I can only presume is Christine -- was there and she spoke to us about her life in Germany and how she has been running her bakery here for 20 years (she started at around age 40, by the way!) She had a talent for being available when we needed her and hanging back when we wanted "us" time. She was a joy and we loved talking with her. I'll absolutely order some bread in the future and make the drive out. It'll be great to see Christine again! If you're looking for a road trip out of Huntsville -- this is one not to miss.

Nice, slightly overcast day. It's a pleasant journey from Huntsville, Cullman, Decatur, etc. No preservatives in her foods!

It's bookended by restaurants and shopping and you get a really nice view of Lake Guntersville. Parking is, theoretically, ample -- though on a busy Saturday afternoon, spots were a little sparse. Just goes to show how popular this locale is. The shop is large and spacious and smells good. It was very clean looking inside. I was greeted nicely upon entry. They have caramel apples, chocolates, fudge, and bonbons galore, and of course ice cream and milkshakes. Ice cream was what I visited for, but the other treats looked delicious. They have a goodly number of ice cream flavors. I was miffed to have a very hard time telling what was what. The square placards that describe the flavors are quite small, and I didn't even realize that flavors were layered two at a time (ie, one carton of ice cream on top was one flavor, below was another) until after I'd placed my order because the placards are smushed so close to the top/bottom of the glass. Fortunately, I scanned these options while the employee scooped my treat and didn't see one that really I wished I'd gotten instead. I was looking for a coffee flavored ice cream and was disappointed to not find it. Could be user error -- as mentioned, the flavor cards were not eye-catching to me -- but still. I wound up with the sea salt chocolate caramel. I ordered one scoop. The employee passed it my way and I went to check out. There were too open registers and I stood facing them for a moment or two. Both employees working them made eye contact with me and then went back to looking at the register, despite me being the only person in line/needing service. It was like they weren't sure what to do. I eventually picked one and said something to the effect of, "This is it for me." The employee wordlessly rang me up and I paid. It didn't feel like she was trying to be rude, but it was...weird and uncomfortable. My single scoop was ~$7 before tip. Now mind you it was a fairly sizeable scoop...but I'd so much rather have a smaller scoop at a lower price. The ice cream itself was good, albeit not mind-blowing. Very rich and creamy. I enjoyed the sea salt caramel and small chocolate covered caramel hunks in the scoop, though I do wish the actual chocolate part had been a bit more deeply chocolatey, if that makes sense. Overall, I think this is a good fit/concept for the space and I'd be down to try it again. If I visit again, I'd look for that coffee ice cream, or maybe try a caramel apple.

They do have good specials and deals at 3 pm, but their prices were reasonable for the amount of food and all was great! The salad with chicken on top was a ton of food! Unfortunately, the front-of-house team and the vibe are carrying a kitchen that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality, quantity, and execution. We started with the oyster sampler, and honestly, we should have known better. If you actually enjoy fresh oysters, skip this entirely. It is seemingly designed for people who want them completely drowned out with heavy toppings like a plate of seafood nachos. They completely destroyed the oysters. For the mains, I ordered the catch of the day (swordfish). The fish had absolutely no sauce, seasoning, or flavor, and it was served with a sad, literal count of about 12 sweet potato fries. My husband ordered the fried catfish, which tasted good, but his meal was supposed to come with a baked potato. We were explicitly told the potato was on its way out, but it never arrived. Walking out with a $100 bill before tip--especially considering we had absolutely no cocktails or alcohol--and leaving hungry because of tiny portions and missing side dishes is incredibly frustrating. We love the atmosphere, and the staff is very friendly, but for the premium prices they are charging, the kitchen needs to step it up regarding portion sizes and flavor, and the staff needs to make sure the food actually makes it to the table.
