It's been roughly a year since I acquired services from SHL, so I thought it would be a good time to finally give a fair review. The good: The decorative rocks and driveway was done ok. I am also happy with how they routed my irrigation system. There are the occasional weeds growing through the weed guard, but I think that's inevitable. The bad: Most of the trees they planted ended up dying because they were planted incorrectly. All trees are on the same irrigation system that they routed, so they all received the same amount of water. 7/10 trees died. I pulled them out and saw that they didn't prepare the soil correctly and didn't spread the roots out after transplanting the trees. The ugly: The gate install was a complete disaster. They put the gate frame on backwards which cause the gate to have uncontrollable sagging. Also, the gate lock was put on backwards. read more

This review is long overdue. Leo had initially messaged me through Nextdoor app introducing his business, so I reached out to him, and he agreed to come and give me an estimate on the things I wanted done. I regret not getting other estimates, before I decided to give Leo the job. What I thought would be a pleasant experience turned into a complete nightmare. Leo convinced me to get a different type of drip system on my flower beds stating that they were more efficient and much better than the ones I currently have, so I agreed, but what a HUGE mistake! The day after they were installed, the drip system started spraying water uncontrollably outside of the flower beds, so I reached out to Leo, and his response was not only rude but shocking. He responded with a sarcastic attitude telling me that if I don't trust him, I should find someone else to fix the problem. First off, I just paid extra to get a drip system that Leo told me was an upgraded, better system, so if it malfunctions the next day, of course it's your responsibility to come fix it and make it right. But instead of offering to come out and fix it, he made it seem like he was doing me a favor by coming out to repair the system at no cost. The same system that was malfunctioning within only a day that I had already fully paid for. Apparently, Leo must think I'm just some naive, clueless woman that he can just talk down to and take advantage of by trying to make it seem like repairs such as these wouldn't normally be free of charge. Well, to make a long story short, Leo sent someone out to try to fix the leak 4 separate times, and to this day, the leak never got resolved! Hopefully, anyone who decides to have Leo do their yard gets lucky, and he doesn't try to screw you over like he did me. There is more detail to this ordeal that I will not bother writing on this review because it's a lot to write. All I can say is, Leo, shame on you for thinking you can talk to me in such a rude manner and try to take advantage of someone you probably thought was easy to fool. I have all our text conversations of how frustrating it was to try to have you or someone to come out and try to fix the leak on the so-called better drip system that you tricked me into getting. It was extremely time consuming and exhausting trying to communicate with Leo to have him get someone out here to fix the drip system. It got so tiring that I finally gave up after their 4th attempt on trying to repair the system. I advise anyone to proceed with CAUTION before giving Leo your business. I strongly recommend finding someone other than Leo for landscaping, for reasons that should be apparent from what I have mentioned above. In summary, Leo is unprofessional, rude, and dishonest, and I wish I could give negative stars for my overall experience. I had a need to have some drains redone in my backyard. I found Sweet Home and gave them a call. Leo was pleasant to speak with and amazingly was able to come out and see the project that same day. Also amazingly enough he said he could start the job the next morning (WOW). Leo had his employees out there early the very next day. The trenches were dug and the drains installed properly with correct degree of slope to ensure proper drainage. They completed the entire job in 1 day. I was extremely pleased with the quick response, the quick work and the high quality of work Sweet Home provided. Not a professional company (Bootleg). Dishonest business practices. False agreements to gain business. Very poor quality work. Does not complete jobs. Agreement made to fix leaks and hired on for yard maintenance. Set up on payment arrangement for 3 months for leak work (extended to 5 & now paid in full) Replace broken pipe ( not replaced, only patched) Replace 5 water valves (substandard work [cut valves] Irrigation maintenance work to replace sprinkler heads & add drip lines (never done & not paid) Said they never agreed to complete the work. Then said they completed replacing just the sprinkler heads (did not) but didn't agree to any other work and no explanation for all of what irrigation maintenance entails in contract (none was performed). Missed whole month of cutting grass (grew over a foot high - still paid) Never trimmed palm trees as agreed for yard maintenance - still paid Only trimmed hedges once after repeated requests to do so - still piad Never pulled weeds or fertilized anything - still paid Only ever sometimes cut grass and collected leaves, trimmed hedges once as part of yard maintenance - not what we agree on, but we paid in full every month. Didn't perform leak repair as stated and didn't perform irrigation maintenance at all. Now threatening to place a lean on our property for leaving this review and for not paying $240 for the irrigation work that was not ever performed that we have proof of that was listed in the contract and was obviously NOT done! We have receipts for all payments over $1500.00 and pictures of or property of hedges not trimmed, palm trees not trimmed and the pipe only patched and valve work and text messages that we sent asking repeatedly for them to trim hedges, etc. Yard maintenance was paid in full and on time every month regardless of the substandard work. Leak and irrigation maintenance is paid in full minus the irrigation maintenance that was not done $1579.99 - $240. read more
