We called the morning of our request and were able to be accommodated for a couples massage the same day within a couple of hours at an ideal time. While this can be a red flag for some that they are not busy it spoke more to the number of rooms And therapists on staff. We were warmly greeted and filled out the typical form of questions while sipping champagne. The tables were heated, which we enjoy and we had a nice variety of essential oils to choose from to enhance our experience. Both therapists were professional, asked the right questions up front and delivered the experience we were looking for. The only thing that kept this from five stars are the two recommendations I would make to the owner. First the fluorescent lights in the lobby area need to go. This would help set the mood upon entry. And second, while I know it is located downtown and noise can and does happen, the couples room We were in would benefit from a heavy home theater type curtain across the front windows. One service was good, the other terrible. The bad: Don't bother with a pedicure!! Biggest waste of money I ever spent on a pedicure. I specifically booked it for the foot massage they advertised after walking around Savannah and it was terrible. The good: Keith was awesome. I got a body scrub, though wish I had time to get a massage because he definitely seemed like he had an awesome skill. I'd never had a body scrub outside of a bathhouse and it was done very nicely, though no where near as intense and thorough as a Korean body scrub, so if you're used to those than this is not for you. If you've never had one, this is a great introduction and it is lovely and makes your skin feel amazing. Highly recommend Keith! Unfortunately the pedicure was the second procedure and kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

The reviews on yelp were positive which has led us to book a treatment as a nice vacation ending. It has to be said that the Spa is located in an old townhouse, repurposed to the spa. My treatment area was in the living room that has been separated from the hallway with a linen curtain held together by book clips. Amenities, equipment and the house all appeared to be the originals (guessing 70's) and left a very old and dirty impression -I am glad the lights were dimmed so I could not observe more. Next to the rattling noise of the AC window unit, the massage and mud rub were comforting, the masseuse okay but still couldn't relax me in the environment and both of us left with a feeling of being unclean. Hurt my back while on a trip to Savannah. I contacted Sweet Water Spa to arrange an appointment while en route. They were so responsive and accommodating, even when one of my flights was delayed. They didn't hesitate to work me in. Upon arrival, the office was under mild construction (chandeliers being installed - wish I could have seen the end result of that) but nothing that was disruptive. The atmosphere was relaxing and the room full of a soft aroma to get everyone in the massage mood. Sarah was my masseuse and was AWESOME! I requested a Deep Tissue Massage and she did not fail to deliver. She worked on the target areas as long as I needed her to during my hour session. She made sure the pressure was comfortable and was very focused and thorough. Unfortunately, I do not live in the local area, but will definitely visit Sweet Water Spa if ever in Savannah again. My review is about the pricing structure and advertising. They advertise that they will swap services in the packages to meet needs. They have a 2 hour package that includes 3 services for $150. I asked if I could book my 2 services (Bliss Mani and Hot Stone Massage) that combine to 1.75 hours for the package price of $150 instead of $155.....and was told "we just can't do that". Fast forward an hour. We booked the appointments for two massages and a Bliss Manicure. The Spa saw my review about the pricing schedule (and to be fair, I showed it to the receptionist/booking agent BEFORE I posted it, to give her the opportunity to think about the business decision) and just called me to tell me they would not honor our appointments! WOW!!! I even asked before we left the spa after booking services (to go get some lunch) if there would be any problems when we come back for our appointments . I asked if we were going to be punished for the pricing review. She told me "absolutely not". So, instead of having us come back for our appointments and wowing us with such great service that we would want to revise the review and give them more stars...they chose to retaliate and have this review lowered. read more

I was extremely pleased with our experience at Sweet Water. I booked services (combo of facial and massages) back in February as part of a bachelorette weekend. There was a little mix up right before the weekend began but the manager was quick and willing to work with us to figure out how to accommodate our group of 7. When we arrived the spa was clean, welcoming, and smelled great! Staff was extremely friendly. They gave the bride some extra special treatment out of the blue which I was impressed with and she throughly enjoyed. All staff did an excellent job with their respective service. Went there today for a couples massage with my husband. The massages were fine- although we paid for a 90 minute massage and after filling out paperwork, changing, and waiting, the massage itself was probably about 60 minutes. Which was great- my therapist listened to all of my requests and the massage was good. However, there are NO amenities with this place. It's on the second floor over a Lululemon. No showers to rinse off after services. The staff is not overly friendly and the overall ambiance is not all that relaxing. It may be a good place for a quick facial and/or nail services, but not the best for relaxing couples massage. read more

I got the aloe wrap and added a facial. Shower: I did not like that I had to shower immediately before the wrap. I think this should be stated prior to respective customers coming to the salon [ensure they shower and don't put any lotions/oils/perfume on] and the showering [rinsing] at the spa be an option and not mandatory. Temperature: I understand it's an older bldg but it was cold in the spa throughout. The wrap:The wrap was ok. I wasn't expecting hot bandages to be wrapped around me but aside from the hot spot from initially getting wrapped it was ok. I don't get wearing the 'oversuit'. I didn't feel any more or less 'incubated' with it on--maybe if the pad or wrapping blankets were heated it would've helped. I also did not get the results I was looking for with the wrap--the technician was only limited to a certain number of wraps and I think if there were more then I would gotten what I needed with the wrap. I wasn't actually in the wrap that long it felt like about 20-25 minutes. The technician otherwise was very friendly and gave great advice. I like the decorum and calming ambiance of the spa. Price: I think I paid way too much for what I got. $175 for wrap and facial is steep! I should asked how much the facial was before the technician started-- last time I add services while on the table! read more

I am writing this update for Sweet Water as I am extremely impressed with their customer service efforts - to provide high quality service both in the front of house and in their offerings. I had some problems scheduling and with an appointment, but management reached out to me afterward and cleared up the miscommunications. I have since gone back for a second facial and received impeccable service. I liked this place after my first very relaxing experience (the collagen facial which made my skin look glow, look and feel amazing), and am happy to find out that they really do believe in creating a wonderful experience for their clients. I went in with a totally butchered gel manicure from down the street in downtown Savannah. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Helped fit me in so I wouldn't have to walk around with a really ugly manicure. Kiara was so patient and professional helping me with the long process of soaking off the super thick, awful gel that has just been cured down the street. My sister and I called for a last minute massage before leaving savannah and heading home to NYC that evening ( this past Wednesday-August 16th). We do be meter parking right in front and went in a couple of minutes early. After filing out paperwork and waiting a few minutes for the other therapist to come ( we were offered drinks in the mean time), we were taken upstairs.. there are a number of rooms.. I saw two Of them and they were all cozy and welcoming. When you check in on Yelp you unlock free aromatherapy treatment..: I had peppermint because I was in some pain with my shoulder. My masseuse was Samantha, she was very nice, asked me about my shoulder and if I had any other issues and went to work! It was one of your top 3 massages of all times! I left there with noticeably less pain ( almost none) in my shoulder and so relaxed and ready for the flight home. The next time I am in town I will plan to make a spa day out of my last day and request Samantha. Thank you so much for the massage. You really know who to treat a girl! read more

My partner and I got a massage here, and they took really good care of us! We got a 60 min couple massage (I got a deep tissue massage) and it was just what we needed. The room they put us in together was so calming and relaxing. Their were professional and immediately made us feel comfortable. They even provided me tea (which was delicious). For Xmas 2017, my daughter gave me a gift certificate for a day at the spa. Sad to say, I finally went mid-September 2018 and I had an incredibly relaxing day with two of the BEST professionals I've ever had. To be fair, I am a licensed esthetician (not active), so I have a little clue about what to expect. If you ever have a facial and the esthetician doesn't touch your décolleté (chest), she's not a very good esthetician. Vivian not only gave me a perfect brow tweeze (she doesn't believe in waxing because waxing strips collagen) as well as a deep-cleansing facial. Vivian is one of the most knowledgeable estheticians and one of the best. She also does micro-blading (which I will check out one of these days). Now: for the massage! To be fair, I've not had many massages in my life. However, I've had enough to know whether a massage therapist just "goes through the motions" or really cares about her customer. Sage went above and beyond. Not only did she pay special attention to my shins, but after my massage, she provided me with information on supplements that would help with my leg and feet pain, but also gave me info on structural integration and other natural anti-inflammatory remedies. Sage was fairly new to Sweetwater Spa, but they are very lucky to have her. The owner and everyone that works there is extremely nice and the spa itself is beautifully decorated. When you read these reviews, please disregard the very few negative ones. As a former salon and spa owner, it's impossible to please everyone, but the owner and staff sure do try to make everyone happy! Keith and Monique did our couples massage, we got the raindrop aromatherapy and I would HIGHLY recommend this if you like natural scents it was heavenly - and hands down the best massage I've ever had, perfect pressure if you ask me, plus they give free mimosa, champagne or red wine so what's not to love! We did a couples massage in a great room We get massages all over the USA - soo it's not my lack of knowledge how I should feel after that raises concern . Pros: one of the best deep tissue massages and I have had many! I can't recall the masseuses name but she deserves a big shout out so if the manager can add the note that would be great. Sweet Water Spa .... I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for anything. They redeemed my $100.00 Spafinder gift card on the day of service, yet I was told my card was invalid with no funds on it. I paid $170.00 in cash for my daughter and my service. I found out the next business day that Sweet Water Spa was paid by Spafinder. Although I've pretty much pleaded with Summer the manager, she's insinuating that I'm a liar. She refuses to have a face to face or conference call with Spafinder which could straighten out the entire mess! I've gotten 3 different stories from 3 different employees. Shameful... Sweet Water Spa ripped me off for $100.00. Next step ... lawsuit. read more

This spa has a very quaint and personal feel. I had the most amazing massage ever during my recent vacation. Sweet Water was a short walk from my hotel; it is located in a restored vintage home. It's beautifully decorated and the staff is warm and personal. I was offered a selection of mimosas, wine and little pastries on arrival; i had the mimosa, it was great!
