Cutest neighborhood spot! Picked up a blackberry bush, strawberry plant and some herbs. Staff was friendly, informative and had great energy.

My world has become so very small due to COVID- I barely ever leave the house and when I do I essentially never go inside when I get there. This has meant lots of shopping online- and trying to support local when I do. As Valentines Day approached, I knew that the gift my husband would appreciate the most would be plants for our garden- an online shopping would not be the best option. We had visited Roots and Shoots several years ago when, as one of the reviewers previously alluded to, you had to 'know someone' to be sent to a 'non descript house' I had heard that they now have a storefront and I figured I would venture over there. I am so glad I did! First of all- the space is (I think) all outdoors. That is to say, they have so many plants outside that there was no need to venture indoors and being COVID and my hesitancy to be inside, I didn't even ask about it. Steven helped me and he was super knowledgable. My husband loves roses but they are hard to grow here without a lot of chemicals and Steven introduced me to a native rose (!)- as well as a few other native flowering plants that I know will make my husband's day. If you are looking for a large selection of native plants with helpful staff in a peaceful setting with plenty of parking- this is the place. Also, the prices are extremely reasonable. Thank you Steven! We will be back :)

My neighbor told me about this place. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a sweet black dog. I walked around admiring the variations of native plants. There are few things I can resist in life, plants obvs being one. I love watching them grow and bloom. I loved most everything and wanted to buy it all. I opted for the white bird of paradise in a beautiful bee pot. Their selections on pots is fun and diverse. I finally bought a bird bath stand and saw the other day a bird playing in her. All in all, I love my purchases and will be a regularly when I need to play in the dirt.

Very polite and helpful place! A place I stopped to add additions to my garden and check out. If you want great plants and local as well. Definitely stop here! I ended up purchasing a lemon tree as well from among the huge selection of citrus trees they carry.

Awesome little nursery specializing in local plants! Great spot and close to my favorite coffee shop, Baguette Magic.

There's some that…read moreare larger and some that have lower prices, but the service and knowledge at Abide A While can't be matched. When I first moved to Mount Pleasant 5 years ago, Abide A While was the first nursery that I went to. As soon as I walked in the annual section, I was met with the warmest smile by an older lady that instantly made me feel at home. I forgot her name, but after talking for a while she had mentioned she was with the company for about 40 years! Being as happy as she was with the same company for that long is definitely is a statement in itself! Unfortunately she retired not too long ago, but now I've met so many other friendly and knowledgeable people at Abide A While. Bruce and J.D.(?) are my go-tos. As for the layout, I like it a lot. Pretty much all the annuals are to the right. Houseplants are on the left, inside with the household items. (All of the household items are beautifully displayed and consist of great quality). Outside, towards the rear of the building are the perennials, trees, and some tropical plants. One of the most important things about Abide A While is every plant is labeled and the majority have full descriptions! If the description is not on the pot, it'll be on a nearby post or printed out on a card. There's nothing more that I hate than to have to do full research on the spot for a plant that catches my eye. So kudos to them for providing that information. I'll end with saying Abide A While is just beautiful, inside and out. I especially love going there after a stressful day. It's so serene, and even majestic in a way. If you haven't been there before, it's worth going for that reason alone.

They told me how to take care of it and it's sprouting lemons!! Value: you get what you pay for. It's not cheap but the product is clearly top notch.
