The owners response was "it must be your first time ordering a cake cause I worked hard and you can take it or leave it." She also told me (at pickup and not before) that she made the Afro puffs out of styrofoam. Why would you put styrofoam on an almost $200 cake. At that point there was nothing I could do, it was already done. When it came time to serve the cake, my hands were dyed black from having to remove the styrofoam and it peeled off half of the top layer of icing. We started to eat the cake and my husband came to me and whispered that he had a long hair in his slice. I later had two other guests mention that they had hair in their slice. I was absolutely mortified and infuriated. I sent a respectful message with pictures to the owner/decorator and her solution was to offer a free cake for the next time I needed one. Umm...no thank you! This cake was inedible due to the hair. It's like playing Russian Roulette with each slice. Like I said, inflation has affected us all, and we spent quite a bit to have a cake of such poor quality.
