Honestly, there's so many wonderful places like this that take in animals, especially horses that are going to the kill shelter or that have been abused. The same way how they help people connect to the horses. Horses are so healing and wonderful. It's hard to phantom how anyone could abuse any animals. As I walked around, I was able to enjoy the property and to learn more about the program. I really can't wait to go back, I think I missed a few animals. I want to ride a horse and to see more, but to really talk to the owners. They, are extremely passionate. This area is beautiful and I can't wait to discover it on horseback. The staff is very friendly and accommodated a last minute schedule change with incredible courtesy. My reason for 4 stars is we booked a 1.5 hour tour and our tour was about 1 hour and 10 or 15 minutes, so a little short. I had numerous issues which I brought to their attention and every time Joanne would start yelling and screaming and throwing a conniption fit. When I first arrived my horse had very calm horses on either side of him. Shortly thereafter Joanne allowed a high strung horse to be stabled next to my horse which created issues. I asked Joanne if she would move the high strung horse and she did not. There very small riding arena has 4 to 5 inches of sand which is not suitable to ride in as it will cause suspensory issues to your horse. A sand based riding arena should be 1 to 2 inches. One of Joanne's horses chewed and destroyed my very expensive halter I kindly asked her to replace it she said she would but after 4 weeks it still hasn't been replaced. They lock up the feed room and do not allow you access to your own supplements and grain which is unheard of in a barn. Joanne did not disclose that her neighbor to the east hates her so much that he fires up the lawnmower or something very loud daily to disrupt the horses and your experience while at the barn. Joannes cursing is offensive and she's constantly ranting and raving. Joanne and Liz created a very stressful environment for my horse and myself and therefore I would never recommend this place to anybody under any condition or situation.

We just wanted to learn how to ride horses and get to run with them cause trail guides on the hour rides in the desert never let you. Our instructor Victoria was really nice, knowledgeable, and patient. She let me go slowly (those horses are giant) and made sure I felt comfortable with everything. Twisted Tree Farms seems like a great place to go if you want to learn english-style, jump-style horse riding. If you are just looking for regular horse riding lessons like we were, someplace else would probably be better.

Some time ago, I was essentially coerced into buying a $4000 untrained gelding from Linda. He was a…read morenice horse, but required a trainer level rider to get him horse show ready. She promised to keep the price low and include all training if I helped her break horses to ride & give lessons (which I did love BTW, but it was A LOT of unpaid work, especially because I also had a fulltime job elsewhere an hour away). Linda never trained the horse at all and would not allow one of the more advanced riders at her stable to help me get the initial training in. No joke, she isn't an US citizen (at the time) and needed the $4000 to get a lawyer because of it. I was scammed for the money!! I had to sell this sweet horse for half that amount because I physically couldn't provide the training he deserved. Proceed with caution before purchasing any of her sale horses and never skip the vet check.
