My daughter had been begging for riding lessons, and it was very difficult for us to find a reputable ranch to instruct her at such a young age. She started her lessons at Rockaway Hills Ranch at five years old and I couldn't be more pleased, Amy has exceeded my expectations for her as an instructor, she is patient, knowledgeable, and very friendly. I love that her lessons include learning to saddle the horse and riding techniques for young children, as my daughter was accustomed to just being thrown on a horse and lead around by a rope in the past. During her first lesson she rode (Daisy) all on her own in a small round pin (under Amy's guidance) with no lead rope. Since we've started our lessons my daughter has become more confident around horses and is even able to do some trotting, her passion for horses has grown exponentially since she began going to Rockakway Hills Ranch. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in lessons!

From the stalls being cleaned three times per day, to feedings three times per day. On top of that, they feed supplements, blanket and place fly masks at no added fees. Truly, the care is unbeatable and the facility is pristine. They do constant barn checks and workers are amazing and live on the property. They also run a dog boarding service, which I utilize. It doesn't get any better than Liz and Joanne! I would never take my horses anywhere else...we compare their facility to the Ritz Carlton for horses!

The owners of El Rancho Rojo are Joanne and Liz and they will tell you anything you want to hear in…read moreorder to get you to board there. I had numerous issues which I brought to their attention and every time Joanne would start yelling and screaming and throwing a conniption fit. When I first arrived my horse had very calm horses on either side of him. Shortly thereafter Joanne allowed a high strung horse to be stabled next to my horse which created issues. I asked Joanne if she would move the high strung horse and she did not. There very small riding arena has 4 to 5 inches of sand which is not suitable to ride in as it will cause suspensory issues to your horse. A sand based riding arena should be 1 to 2 inches. One of Joanne's horses chewed and destroyed my very expensive halter I kindly asked her to replace it she said she would but after 4 weeks it still hasn't been replaced. They lock up the feed room and do not allow you access to your own supplements and grain which is unheard of in a barn. Joanne did not disclose that her neighbor to the east hates her so much that he fires up the lawnmower or something very loud daily to disrupt the horses and your experience while at the barn. Joannes cursing is offensive and she's constantly ranting and raving. Joanne and Liz created a very stressful environment for my horse and myself and therefore I would never recommend this place to anybody under any condition or situation.

The community here is genuinely kind and welcoming, making it feel like a second home. For me, one of the biggest highlights is how well the horses are cared for. The team is incredibly dedicated, ensuring the horses are always in great condition. The barn is spotless, well-organized, and runs smoothly. It's rare to find a place that combines excellent coaching, a warm community, and top-notch care for both riders and horses. I couldn't be happier with the experience my wife and I are having here.

She cares deeply about both her clients and the horses, ensuring they receive the best care every single day. Tiffany let Rhen's teeth go untreated and his weight get so low that when we picked him up we were horrified. His eyes were infected and he looked as if the last brushing or bath was months ago...Tiffany benefitted from Rhen for years until he was not able to jump - she used this loyal servant up and actually was going to give him away on Craigslist. I have never been so ashamed of a human let alone a horse trainer. Tiffany is a despicable example of horses for profit which is exactly what this world could do without. I encourage any horse lover to steer clear from Desert Equi-Sports out of love of horses. How would you feel if you were tossed out and unloved suddenly?????????
