This place is very special. The care, attention and thought that Katy puts into her school and lessons is without comparison. We tried other schools prior to Swell and didn't have the same success. Our 3 and 5 year old were both scared of the water and after 10 lessons they're jumping off the diving board and swimming across the pool. So happy with our experience. Highly recommended Katy and Swell Swim School.

2 years old and already getting the jist of it!

I grew up swimming from the age of 7 until I was in college. On a swim team, did competitive swim and I absolutely LOVE how this school is run. We have a pool at home and since I was fully involved in swimming my whole life it was never a question of "if" more of "when" we would do swim lessons. The instructors are kind, high spirited and very reassuring to their swimmers so that they gain trust and keep on trying. My little is 2 and they sing songs, have toys, take breaks, give hugs, take pictures and video and make it soo exciting that he loves going and hates leaving. He cried his first session, per what is usually common, but ever since then maybe a second of a sad face the next two lessons and all smiles from then out. He knows how to kick, how to use his arms, how to jump in and swim to the wall, started even learning how to float on his back. How does one go from crying to jumping in with no worry! Incredible. I cannot say enough.

We give it two thumbs up!

This school has turned my 3 year old daughter into a little fish! They have created such a joyous experience that she plays "swim school" every night in the tub with her Barbies. A great intimate facility with teachers that encourage and develop your child. Swell's focus on safety will put any parent at ease. I've seen them work with fearless children and those who are very scared, they know how to bring out the best in each child. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else!

Hands down the best swim school in the Central Valley. My son loves water and has no fear and that's why I knew I needed swim lessons for his own safety. Ten lessons and my three year old was swimming and jumping off the diving board like a pro. He can successfully swim to the edge and save himself. Highly recommend.

And when my 2 year old was not able to attend a lesson, Katy did her best to accommodate make up lessons.

Zoey has been an exceptional instructor throughout that time. Like many toddlers, our grandson has a strong personality and definitely likes things his own way. From the observation area, we've had a few laughs watching him try to tell Zoey exactly how things should go. No matter what kind of day he's having, Zoey consistently shows incredible patience, kindness, and skill in getting him engaged and participating in the lesson. There have been days when he missed a nap or simply wasn't in the mood, but Zoey always seems to find a way to turn things around and make the lesson enjoyable. Her ability to connect with young children is truly impressive. Beyond our own experience, we've seen children of many different ages and skill levels in the program. We've also observed the staff working with children who have special needs, and they consistently demonstrate compassion, professionalism, and genuine care. We couldn't be happier with our experience and highly recommend this swim program to other families.

They take as little as 12 months and my child is almost 3 years old whereas he didn't listen at all to the instructor. Everytime she would ask him he would be like NOOOOOOO with a cold shoulder. I mean the experience was bad for the instructor more cuz he didn't follow directions. The other two little girls were excellent in following directions and comprehending. I think that this class would be better if I took him earlier in age to get use to the routine as there is none right now lol the swimming class on the other side looks excellent for parents to watch from a window as their children learn to swim. It was a bit crowded and stuffy, maybe limit how many swimmers can be in a class.

As a first-time parent enrolling a child in swimming lessons, I expected clear guidance and basic support. Unfortunately, very little was explained on my child's first day, and when I sought clarification, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful responses. One staff member, Eileen, came across as sarcastic when answering questions and made me feel as though I was inconveniencing her simply by seeking information that should have been provided from the outset. Another incident was with a younger staff member at the front desk that appeared disengaged and does not care about what's going on around her, often ignoring customers who were trying to get assistance. On more than one occasion, she rolled her eyes when people attempted to get her attention, which I found highly unprofessional and discourteous. Overall, the customer service was disappointing. The contrast between the welcoming attitude shown during enrollment and the treatment received afterward was striking. Based on my experience, the staff's lack of communication, attentiveness, and professionalism significantly detracted from what should have been a positive experience.

The instructors are great and make sure each kid is learning the strokes and they get evaluated. I will definitely do it again next summer. They didn't even teach any useful skills, like saving themselves if they were to fall in. My 8 year old who already has the basics of swimming but by no means is a "swimmer" yet didn't learn anything useful either. I asked him what he learned and he listed off tricks like headstands, summersaults, and cannon balls. Don't waste your money, just fork up a little more and go through an actual school with proven results.
