Decided to find a local car wash during my visit this summer. Silly me for thinking that a car wash should actually use soap in the process because I never ever saw a sud form on the car. The guy power washes the loose soil off the car then rinses it off through the car wash. No suds at all ever. Not sure why I paid for the premium deluxe package I can just imagine what the economy must include. This place is for the locals with their beat up cars not for my Mercedes. Lucky my car doesn't file a complaint against me for car wash negligence . Not for me. read more

I went there four times in the last few months ran the thing to 8$ the first time 11$ the second time I go to check my bank account statements both times I went there they rounded 20$ and 25$ when it clearly says minimum charge is 4$ at the car wash complete b.s. had to put two claim in with my bank not that a care about the 20-30$ they over charged me it's the principal shitty parking lot as well place needs a refresh read more

Swells is the absolute best! The gentlemann that works there everyday is very kind and does such a great job. Its as if you get a double wash when you go! He is very meticulous about scrubbing all debris off before running the wash. There is no other car wash like it around. I only wish the dyers had a bit extra time on them. read more

On impulse,while driving through Winsted on our way to Saratoga, I decided to get rid of the road dust and rain spots on my car, and saw Swell's right on Rte 8. We pulled in, and the gentleman at the gate asked for our punch card. We explained this was our first time, and he took a minute to explain the process. I decided on the deluxe option: wash, wax, underspray (ALWAYS get one, especially once winter comes), and dry. Windows up, sunroof closed, we sat while he powerwashed the car, including the wheels and wheel wells. Then, a second pass, this time with soap. Driving into the tunnel, the brushes and wipes cleaned off the soap and grime, then made a second pass, rinsing and waxing. The dryer could have been a bit more powerful, but it got about 95% of the water off, and a few miles down Rte8 dried off the rest. For $12, it was a decent wash, and my car stayed shiny all weekend. I was quite happy with the result, and I would go here again if I were passing by. read more
