I was told to see a chiropractor that does the Gonstead method by both a friend and a health practitioner who were trying to help me with my spinal issues that were beginning to cause injuries as well as areas of numbness in my extremities. As I was in the San Clemente area for several weeks seeing family, I went to Swift Health Chiropractic. He made a little gasp as he looked at my lower spine x-rays, as I first damaged this area in my mid twenties over a decade of doing inappropriate lifting at work, and these injuries have remained on into my early seventies. Dr. Tim Swift is very skilled at what he does, and the changes have been subtle but encouraging. He also has a practitioner who does regenerative healing practices, which I also availed myself to. It is early days, but I am so encouraged by this work. I am returning home in a week, and have already scheduled an appointment with a Gonstead chiropractic doctor in my area. I am not in pain so much as dealing with numbness and leg injuries, so if you have issues, seeing someone like Dr. Tim Swift before you head into chronic pain might be helpful. I saw Dr. Swifts table at a local health fair and thought I'd stop to talk about how Chiropractic care could help me. During High school and college I played high impact sports; football, judo, jiu-jitsu, and my back and shoulders had accumulated damage. This gave me dull to semi-sharp pain during normal life. Some in my friends circle had even recommended surgery. I talked to Dr. Swift about my pain and he said he could help me. He first took x-rays to get a picture of what was wrong and after examining them he performed a series of adjustments over the next 4 weeks. I also received some chiropractic focused massages which focused on my lower back and right shoulder. Amazingly the pain in my right shoulder slowly began to disappear. Not only that but the flexibility and mobility of the shoulder returned to what is was when I was 20 years younger. I'm still working on strengthening the muscles around the shoulder with weight training but the difference in pain levels and flexibility is night and day. Additionally the lower back pain has mostly disappeared. This care along with simple changes of my habits during the day (less sitting for long periods in the office and more occasional walks) has really helped with the pain and increased my quality of life. Dr. Swift checked my spine and immediately found the spots that have been giving me trouble. I was amazed how specific he was. His adjustments are clean as a whistle and the relief is instant. I don't like to leave negative reviews & almost didn't leave a review but I felt morally responsible as this isn't just about the quality of food @ a restaurant. This is about peoples' lives. First of all, I have been seeing chiropractors all of my adult life. I have always had incredible results & I believe & know the power of adjustments and know firsthand that adjustments do work! Recently, my chiropractor of many, many years moved out of state. So I've been looking for a new doctor, plus I was having some discomfort. I came across an ad for Dr. Swift and thought I'd give him a try. He took x-rays & the following day we reviewed. The first thing that came out of Dr. Swift's mouth was that my spine was in VERY, VERY BAD SHAPE & that I needed to start treatments immediately, which involved going in 3x a week for three months in addition to some other things!! He went over everything rapidly & was more eager to get me to sign a contract & pay $2500 than spending the time to explain everything to me. He seemed annoyed when I asked for better clarification & for him to speak slower so I could better understand everything. When I asked him why my previous chiropractors never told me that my spine & neck was in such bad condition, all he responded was that he would give me a discount because I've had adjustments in the past. Okayyyy... what does one thing have to do with the other? I told him I had to think about everything before I committed, but he was still very pushy about getting me on the calendar for the next day. Needless to say, I left his office feeling very concerned (scared) that I was going to have long-term affects if I didn't start treatments right away. I wanted a second & third opinion so I immediately contacted my previous chiropractor & also another chiropractor in San Diego who had adjusted me a few months prior & told them what Dr. Swift had stated. They both reassured me that I have a healthy spine & what's going on with my neck & spine is completely normal & is not uncommon. I went to see a highly recommended chiropractor the following day & he laughed but was also not happy when I told him what Dr. Swift had stated. After an examination & x-rays, he reassured me that I have a healthy spine. All three chiropractors were very disappointed with Dr. Swift's work ethics & his use of "scare tactics" to take advantage of people. I consider myself fortunate to have experience with chiropractors & have resources to get second opinions. I feel bad for people that have fallen for his "scare tactics." I almost did! read more

Hubby decided to visit Dr Swift for a consult, then return the next day to review his treatment plan. $3,000.00 for 3 mos of treatment, they ask him to apply for care credit and he's approved. My husband told them that he was not interested in the treatment and leaves.... Well today we recieved a bill from care credit for $3,000.00.... Well I have never been to an office where they immediately charge your care credit when services have NOT been rendered. Beware of this office... The same might happen to you. read more

I am going to start with the good. I was having some neck and muscle soreness in my shoulders and found the special for Dr. Swift on Facebook it was $37 for exam, xray and adjustment and then when I booked I added a massage. The first visit I sat with the Dr and he asked me all kinds of questions trying to make problems that didn't exist headaches, nausea etc.. I was just there for neck stiff and soreness. The good: He took Xrays then I went onto my massage which was awesome, she was knowledgeable, made recommendations and really helped with the tension I was carrying. The bad: I left after the massage and made a second apt to come back on Tuesday to go over my xrays, get adjustment and I asked if it was covered as part of my special which it was. The Bad: I come back on Tuesday for my adjustment and the Dr. goes over xray about how my spine is misaligned and it can cause permanent damage. He points out the correct and two stages of damage and then says I am in the first phase and it will continue to get worse and he needs to see me three times a week for three months. I declined and said I could maybe commit to once a week to start and he said don't even bother and save my money. I said I appreciate your honesty and thank you and left. Here is my problem number one he didn't take an xray of my full spine and said it was because I only had pain in one area. Isn't it all connected? Second he didn't even offer to do the adjustment and provided no relief for the pain I was in. At no point did he even touch me or check out my neck or back. I left feeling very frustrated and get almost home and the receptionist calls and says the fee came with an adjustment and would I like to come back....and I declined. I declined because at this point I had come in twice to see the Dr and he never even bothered to try to do an adjustment and once I said I wasn't committing to a treatment he sent me on my way. He obviously didn't want to deal with me. He used traditional fear tactics to sell me into a program and when I didn't want to move forward with long term care he didn't care enough to even offer an adjustment. I also didn't want to come back because I honestly felt so frustrated and like I wasted my time and money for nothing. I would not recommend Dr. Swift at all unless you are prepared to commit to long term treatment. read more

Come on, anyone with 5 stars on yelp and 10+ reviews is killin it! I had a major motorcycle accident this past year that I felt ruined my body. When I came to Swift I was borderline depressed over the fact my body wouldn't be the same again, and that I was in constant pain. I was very discouraged and skeptical of any care I'd receive because of previous experiences. Dr. Swift took almost a full hour my first visit understanding what I was telling him, he asked many questions and provoked 90% of the conversation, which told me he really cared to understand. He took some XRays to better see my complaint. My next visit he reviewed in detail with me what was wrong and what his plan of action was. He's very flexible with restrictions or preferences you might have. He is the least pushy doctor I've ever seen, which creates a nice feeling of trust. I am only less than a week into treatment with him and already feel better than I have in 9 months, I am even more confident in him now and going forward. Couldn't have stumbled upon a nicer, more understanding doctor if I tried. Not to mention his knowledge of the practice from what I've gathered is very extensive. I went to lift my boat an hurt my back with caused an old issue with a nerve in to flair up in addition to an incredible stiff and painful lower back. I had a 6 hour flight on Monday and couldn't even sit in a chair. I was freaking out. I've never been to a chiropractor before but couldn't deal with the pain and the idea of a flight in 2 days was beyond terrifying. I'm taking the time to write a positive review because my treatment with Dr. Brooks was so good. I met with Dr. Brooks after an accident. He did a full evaluation on me including X-rays. He studied the X-rays over night and THEN he met with me again and told me the plan that he had for my treatment. I was very thankful that he took the time to figure out what was best for me BEFORE he treated me. He also has been ON TIME each and every visit. I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen.
