I started going to Dr. Dan at Mission Chiropractic a year and a half ago, and my whole life has changed for the better as a result. From age 11-19 I went to another chiropractor who told me I could never be a runner or do any high impact activities. I was told from age 13-17 that I could not run, so I didn't. I was told I could only swim, otherwise I would further mess up my back and need surgery. I had back pain so bad that I would stay home from school as a child because I could not walk. When I graduated high school I then began having excruciating neck pain that developed into migraines that lasted for days. I came to accept that I was going to have chronic back and neck pain for the rest of my life and there as nothing I could do about it. Since I have been going to Dr. Dan, I can do any form of activity that I desire! I run, bike, lift, paddle, swim, and practice yoga regularly. My back pain has decreased significantly, as has the actual problem (note- my previous chiropractor was treating me wrong, and Dr. Dan diagnosed my back correctly and has been treating me appropriately.) Also, my migraines are practically nonexistent! Dr. Dan takes the time to adjust me according to what my body needs specifically. He is also good at making me crack up while in the midst of an adjustment! I recommend Dr. Dan to anyone and everyone. Gar at the front desk is very nice, but that is kind of where I stopped being impressed. I signed up for the 3 massage special and I never even showed up for my 3rd massage because they were so pathetic. There is nothing worse than laying for an hour completely bored out of your mind. Also, the massage room is a little bit larger than a coffin, so do not come for a massage here if you are claustrophobic. I met with Dr. Dan and he told me I would need 60+ adjustments and to come in 4-5 times a week for months. That is just insane - I would have to quit my day job. I suspect the reason they wanted to see me so often is because of my primo deluxe insurance coverage that covers unlimited chiropractic visits. I ended up getting referred by a friend to a chiropractor in Laguna Niguel who fixed my issue in two visits. I am sure many people love him, but I felt like they were more out to bilk my insurance company than genuinely caring about me as a patient. How could a healthy 28 year old possibly need that many visits???? I wanted to give two stars, but gave three stars because Gar is nice. But I just felt like I could not trust anyone else in this practice. read more

My Dad and I were refered to this place to get adjusted. On our first walk in visit, Dr. Dan took xrays of our backs & neck. I had lower back pain and headaches every day. They xrays showed that my neck was basically a pole, and have no curveature. This was causing my headaches. Standing on my feet for 9 hours at work was torturing, but now I feel soooo much better. I get adjusted twice a week and after going I feel 'light on my feet'. Staff is super friendly. Lar is very knowledgeable about vitamans, health, and nutrition. Cheryl is also welcoming, and knows a lot about medical billing & insurance. Wish they were open one night (pm hours) for people who work during the day. Something like 6pm-10pm would be ideal. "What? No more pain? But you are a chiropractor, how are you going to do that?" Those were the thoughts running through my head after my first consult. The office seems very detailed and different than any other chiropractors i have been to and after an xray, flexibility test, and spin exam, Dr. Dan explained that the pain that had been haunting me for years is a symptom of the bones in my neck curving in the wrong direction. I was relieved to know there was an answer to why I was having headaches everyday and horrendous neck and shoulder/ arm pain. So far,the treatments have been working. I have been without pain for 2 weeks. The staff are very professional and the doctor seems very sensitive to his patients and knowledgeable. By the way, the in-office masseuse does great deep tissue work. So far, I can only comment on my well being as of present, but I will update my review in the near future. FYI..they have a deal printed in the "local dish" magazine that gives you a free exam and 4 half hour massages for $55. read more

When I went to have my hair cut last week, Melanie asked me to flip my head forward when she was drying my hair. I couldn't do it. This, as well as not being able to turn my head to look behind me fully when backing in my car. Also, excrutiatiing when lying down my head to sleep at night, and any time I have to raise from lying to sitting position. My neck hurt so bad, because I have postponed chiro care for about 7 years now. After 2 visits/adjustement this week by Dr. Dan, I just flipped my head forward to brush my hair, no problem. Amazing. Also slept like a baby. First time in a long time. If I am not mistaken, I am also in a good mood, I have more energy, I am not depressed, and have a hugely dimished brain fog. Officially I am the happiest patient of the day. Let me explain why..... I have been through a horrific surgery nightmare, which left me on bed rest for over 4 months while taking heavy medications. From the first day arriving to be treated by Dr. Dan, I felt comfortable and safe in his hands. My condition was thoroughly explained to me as well as the treatment needed to get healthy again. Currently, I am doing yoga 4 days a week and back swimming with my son. Also, more importantly I am off all medications and taking natural substances to gain muscle strength.
