She came promptly, evaluated the situation, and determined that the problem could be resolved with some targeted pruning. It was clear she was abundantly knowledgeable and capable from the outset. She rope-climbed the tree, used minimally invasive techniques and accomplished the pruning job in short order. We were so happy with the result, we asked if she could evaluate a sick crabapple sheltering a family grave in a nearby cemetery. Again, she came promptly, determined that the tree was able to be cured, and she performed various treatments, followed by seasonal pruning to be done during dormancy to reduce risk of fireblight. I was impressed by their professionalism and teamwork (by a crew of four, utilizing built-in radios in their helmets for communications). They did an excellent job cleaning the slash and stacking logs to be processed for firewood. They showed up on time and completed the job in four hours, including a trip back to their shop to bring in a tracked excavator. Tried heavy trimming but to no avail. They had to come down. I had many solicitors over the past two years, offering a wide range of solutions with a wide range of costs. Unfortunately, I was not born with a silver spoon in my mouth. I happened upon Maguire's Family Tree Service through a glance at Facebook community page, along with several other tree services. I contacted all of them and they all responded, but when Joe (Maguire) came out, he offered me many options with solid costs for each option. He was down to earth and I liked his presentation. He doesn't have some of the large 'toys' that others have, but he has grit, determination and a good eye for the job. I researched for reviews and couldn't find much, but I still hired his company. His office staff (Felicia, the missus) is extremely competent and efficient.
