We found it here. Our 3, 5 and 7 year olds were very nervous about the first lesson, but had tons of fun and now eagerly anticipate their weekly lessons. More importantly, they are making noticeable strides and improvement in their ability to swim. LifeSTROKES lessons are more expensive than other places, but we think it is an investment worth making. Watching the system they've got worked out to safely and effectively teach a whole bunch of kids is pretty amazing. Some instructors are definitely better than others. They over book kids into lessons at some ages IMO, which means less overall time in the water practicing and time with the instructor. When I was a kid, we did things as a group, rather than focusing on one kid at a time. My son has a hard time just sitting and waiting for his turn. The locker rooms are very much in need of an update. Rusty doors and just a feeling of things being dirty and musty. In need of better maintenance.

Miss Elizabeth has been her amazing teacher, but all the instructors are great there. My 3.5 year old is always excited to go back. The pool is heated, and is shallow for the most part, there's always at least 1-2 people on life guard duty during the classes. They have a waiting/watching room next to the pool with a huge window. So you can watch your kiddo learn to be the next Olympic swimmer. There's also a kids corner with toys and coloring pages/crayons. They also have a tv in the waiting room which is normally playing a Disney movie. Our little one loves grabbing a sucker on the way out after practice. A nice well-deserved treat if you will. What I love the most is how each instructor comes out after class to tell the parents or guardians how well their kid did and what needs to be worked on. I've also had a couple instances where I had to reschedule an appointment or set up a make-up appointment. They make the process so easy and smooth. You can reschedule through an email link or by calling/texting. It's been such a smooth journey here and we love it.

Firstly, they let me come 30 minutes prior to the party so that was sooo helpful. They also asked me for his favorite colors and his party theme at the time of booking due to the fact that they provide tablecloths, plates, and cutlery. If you see in the video, they drew a little Pikachu drawing on my son's birthday sign :,) SO THOUGHTFUL and my son adored it. The staff was incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. The space was the perfect size for us. We had around 15 kids and 20 adults. I 10/10 recommend.

My daughter was nervous about swimming. We had tried ourselves to teach her. Within only 2 months…read moregoing, taking 2 classes a week, she advanced to the next level and is working on swimming on her own better. All of her instructors have taken time with each kid, are always happy/friendly, make the classes fun and encourage the kids and use positive reinforcement with them. My daughter is flourishing and we are so sad that we'll have to stop lessons when we move. I definitely recommend them. They do dunk your child under the water to help teach them how to hold their breath correctly and so they aren't scared of their faces under the water. My daughter caught on how to hold her breath quickly and can now hold it for a full 15 count while floating unassisted on her stomach face in the water. They also teach skills to make sure your child can get in and out of the pool easily. So they have the skills to hopefully not drown if something happened.

Today was our first lesson. At the beginning of the lesson, I tried to express a concern with the…read moreinstructor regarding my son's tendency to swallow/choke on water but he wasn't interested and closed the door before I had completed my sentence. Both of my kids are afraid to put their faces in the water. They each told the instructors they weren't comfortable going under water. Instead of giving my kids some time to get used to the water, they "assisted" them under water no less than 10 times during the lesson. My kids cried throughout most of the lesson but the dunking continued. I am an early childhood teacher and am well aware that forcing children to do something they are not developmentally ready to do is not the way to teach. After the lesson, I explained to their instructor/regional district manager that Aqua-Tots isn't a good fit for us. He refused to let us out of our contract stating that he has "been doing this for 10 years and knows that my kids will adjust to his way of teaching". Be that as it may, my goal is for my children to learn to swim and develop a lifelong love of the water. Instead, my kids are now terrified at the thought of swimming lessons. If you are considering taking lessons here, please request a trial lesson to see if it is a good fit for your child's individual learning style. I wasn't offered one and was unaware it was even an option until today. Because of Aqua-Tot's unwillingness to offer us a trial lesson and the way they disregarded my children's requests not to be forced under water, we are out about $200 and our kids are now afraid of the water.
