It serves the majority of Kempston well. There are usually about 2 or 3 people working at the same time which is good Swiftly onto the bad points - I have NEVER seen this post office without a queue, it's not rare if I have to stand in the queue for 15 minutes (even with 3 people serving) - whilst worrying about where I parked the car as there is only space for around 3 cars out the front. They seem to be quite disorganised - whilst serving someone they are always wondering off and not coming back for a fare while. They sell some decent items, but i'm afraid most of it just falls into the 'tat' category - the types of things you'd expect to find in poundland but for 5 times the price.

It also has a shop which sells basics like bread, milk, kiddies sweets, alcohol and birthday cards. The choice is pretty limited so its normally the co-op i use and this just for the post office.

They sell quite a few items such as stationery, some cosmetics and small gifts and there are a couple of post office counter windows. The staff have always been very friendly in this post office and the times that I have been in there I haven't needed to queue for too long either. That could just be luck though - I don't know!

There is very limited parking and I think it's only open for part of the year, so best to check on the website before you go to avoid disappointment. There is a small admission charge. I wouldn't like to be inside when it gets dark! It's quite close to the A14 in Northants, and only takes and hour or so to visit, so is well worth stopping off there if you are looking for something a bit different to do.
