First and last time I order from swiss colony! Total RIP off! First, they charged me almost $40 in shipping fees to send to 4 separate addresses! That's almost 1 and a half times the cost of 2 of the 4 items I shipped! Then, I ordered in plenty of time to be recieved before xmas (as they were gifts) and 2 of the 4 boxes weren't recieved until the day after xmas. As if all of that wasn't bad enough, their boxes are total garbage! We expected sausage to be the medium size and ended up being a tiny single serving size, as well as the cheeses all being the soft gooey type, not even the brick cheese was hard. The cookies looked like full size cookies in the catalog, but were miniatures also. Don't bother with them! My mother had ordered $429 of gifts to be sent for Christmas. She had trouble going on line with the information they emailed to her. She asked me to take over. After 2 hrs of being transferred I finally spoke with someone that told me they were now out of most of what she had ordered. We reordered some other things for her and they said it takes a while to be processed and to please check back in 24 hours. I went online just now and the amount had jumped to $649. While I was waiting on the phone the amount dropped to $259. When customer service answered they apologized for items not being available. But they would need additional money to process order. 429 spent. They would send 259 of gifts but want additional money Trying to wrap my head around paying 429 dollars plus additional money to receive 259 I will drive my mother into her bank with all records and emails dealing with this company and then take her Christmas shopping. In reviewing my bank card I found an odd charge from Swiss Colony. I attempted to call and got hold times of 30 minutes. Since I had not bought anything in March, I put a stop payment thinking it a fraudulent charge. I had to get a reissued card. I got a letter from Swiss Colony that said I owed money, but there was no invoice or way to pay. still thinking this was a fraudulent charge, I called and got put on hold. call disconnected. Then I called again a week later and got a rude response about how billings were running three months late. How, in the electronic age, does a billing take three months? I called back and talked with a Supervisor who confirmed that they were just running that far behind! 90 days when I gave a credit card the day back so long ago. poor business practices cost me time and stress. I have had the worst experience of my life using Swiss Colony. I was quoted a price for a large corporate order (all calls are recorded - yet they don't go back and listen for quality or integrity). I was sent only half of my order. Then I was charged WITHOUT my approval (yet another recorded call) the same amount for the second half of my order (now charged double). After calling in at least 10 times, each time I was put on hold so that the customer service person could talk to a supervisor, I was "disconnected". I finally reached someone who patched me to a supervisor who assured me she cancelled the order and refunded me everything. That never happened. I then reached another supervisor a couple days later after realizing the first supervisor did not do what she promised. And he told me I have to donate the items to a non-profit, get a receipt from the non-profit, then mail (or fax) the receipt to Swiss Colony. Now I get to spend my time doing this, which I should not have to be doing at all. He also assured me that I would get a refund for half of the order that I never agreed to. That also never happened. I am not mailing this receipt to Swiss Colony, but if I was a betting person... I will not be seeing any refund even though I did the entire process they told me I must follow... even though this entire situation is Swiss Colony's quality issue. I would typically say that this is a training opportunity for them but this has been a colossal breakdown of epic proportions across this company. Swiss Colony has been around 97 years this year. I received this huge box as a Christmas gift. I think it was their sampler. I was so excited to try the cheeses, sausages, candies etc...Unfortunately everything I tried didn't taste like food. Fillers and cheap ingredients made up all of the products. I decided the best thing to do was the remaining products(80%) to the homeless guys I pass every day walking my dog. So I am supposed to lie and pretend they are a wonderful company. Not! I purchased a scarf back in Dec and did not receive it, I called SC and informed them in which they said I would receive a refund. I ended up receiving it 3 days later and decided to the right thing to report it and ask them to rebill my credit card. For some unknown reason, they never recharged my card but sent a bill for $4.61. I would find out that they went behind my back and did a hard hit on my credit and somehow opened a credit account without me authorizing. Now how on earth does something like this happen? We paid more than twice the original order to clear the dept with the promise from them to mark the account as resolved on our credit report. (They refuse to delete from credit reports. ) After getting our money they gave us the runaround for over a month. "We sent the letter. We sent the fax. We sent the request. We...blah blah blah. " Liars. Finally it did show as paid on our credit but not as simply resolved. Oh no. They said we settled the account for less than the owed amount and labeled us a derogatory. Stay away! There is something clearly different about this company and it's products. Two years straight I've order a large order of sausages, cheeses, beef sticks and their creamy spreads. Two years straight their spreads arrived blown up, and clearly spoiled once opening them. The smell was horrible and clearly could not be eaten. Around Christmas I had a carton full of Old World delights such as sausages, mustards, and cheeses arrive on my doorstep. This past Monday, which happened to be my birthday, I recieved a box of strange little candies that resembled miniaturized cupcakes, and I ate them compulsively...along with *ahem* certain others in my household that I shall not name. For many years, Swiss Colony has been one of those companies whose catalogs are a joy to flip through even though you rarely ever purchase anything from them if you ever do at all. This Christmas I sent gifts to my children and one of them received a bill with their own account number, I called Swiss colony, and they simply stated that the shipping address was transferred to the billing address, and they opened a separate account! I asked how could they do that without a Social Security number and they said they just did. But this will be the last year that I use Swiss colony. I did not ordered from them until a couple of days ago when they had a promotion for first time customer getting 2 free full size gifts with the purchase of a postpaid item. The order went through online and I didn't receive an order confirmation right away. Instead, a day later the order confirmation arrived on the same day as the shipping confirmation showing that one of the gift was canceled. Since the items were shown as being shipped, I can't cancel the order. I do not remember a time that Swiss Colony was not around, and I am in my 60's. Over the last 20 years i have been sending a gift to each of my kids in-laws, as well as out of the area family members. Up until about three years ago I sent floral arrangements over the holidays to each family however with a nice arrangement reaching upwards of $100 it was very costly. I decided to switch to a nice food/candy type gift. I got a catalog from SC and placed an order. The first thing I noticed was that everyone stopped mentioning the gift. I didn't think too much about it, but I wondered. This year I decided to order a box of the Baklava for myself. It looked good and sounded great. It arrived yesterday and shocked was the only response I can think of. The box was so small! When I arrived home and started to open the box, my husband walked in from work. As I started taking the top off the box, he asked, with his arm reaching, "whatcha got?" As I pulled the top off the box his arm withdrew. I said "It's Baklava" his response as he turned to leave was "no thanks". My husband doesn't turn down sweets but it looked very unappetizing. The pieces were all falling apart and stuck to the plastic in the box. It was a mess, not to mention it was so small! I attempted to take a piece out of the box and could only get portions of one piece at a time. That's when I realized that this is what I had been sending my family, friends, and tenants. I am so embarrassed! I had only sent one other Baklava, but as pictures of the deliveries started showing up in my in box, I could clearly see how small each box was. When my sister called to tell me that her box had been delivered to the wrong house, I contacted Swiss Colony. They were nice enough and said that they would send out a replacement, but it wouldn't arrive until the 30th. When I mentioned that I had just received an email stating that they could still deliver before Christmas, she told me that it required expedited shipping. I asked her to please do that. She said that they couldn't, it was more that they wouldn't. I canceled the order. Now I decided to review the confirmation pictures to assure that everyone else had gotten their orders. Sure enough, there was one other that had been marked "un-deliverable". I called to ask about it. I was told that they needed to verify the address. I asked if anyone was ever going to contact me about verifying it, or if it was just never going to be delivered? They had no response, I canceled that order as well. I am including pictures so you can see what I am talking about. I only wish I had looked at reviews before sending the items. I will never order from Swiss Colony again. It had been a few years since I had put an order in. SC allowed me to use my old credit account. I made the order and for ten days the website said paid but not shipped. I was starting to get nervous, so I went ahead and just paid for the order using my credit card instead, thinking this would jump-start the process. They immediately charged my card and then two days later informed me that the products were out of stock and had been out of stock for several days. I contacted CS and they "refunded" my money, however after two weeks I am still not seeing the credit, so I contacted them and was informed that I won't be seeing the refund for 30 days. Not only did they allow me to purchase items that were out of stock, they are keeping my money for 30 days. The main issue here is that it shouldn't take 30 days for a refund and if their website was updated on a regular basis things like this wouldn't happen. This is 2023/24 and it didn't take 30 days to charge my account, it shouldn't take 30 days to get refunded for items they knew weren't there when I was allowed to buy them. read more

Go online......they are still showing in stock. Oh! ......but when I called in, they directed me to another selection that was in stock: "27 FAVORITES" for $34.99. On 11-27-18 I ordered a few items from Swiss Colony, been ordering from them for years without any problems. When you checkout it asks you "Specify Delivery Date" and the three options are: "As Soon as Possible", "Christmas" or "Choose Shipment Date". I chose the "Choose Shipment Date" option and said 12-08-18. At that time the shipping charge was $22.99 and it said allow 7 to 14 days to receive your order. On 11-30-18 I received an e mail from Swiss Colony informing me that my order was on its way? I immediately called Swiss Colony and spoke with one of their customer service reps. This gentleman could see my selection of when to ship the items but said they were on the way. I argued with him, but at that time I was not completely sure if I had indeed told them I wanted to receive my order by or on 12-8-18. This person also told me that my order would be shipped to a Fed Ex Facility in Earth City, Missouri and would be placed in a cooler until the 12-8-18 date approached. I wanted to know exactly what I had chosen on the delivery option so I went back to the Swiss Colony website and made an order and sure enough, there it was......"Choose Shipment Date". So if they had shipped my order on 12-8-18 as I had instructed and figuring in the minimum of seven days to get to my home, it should have arrived no sooner than 12-15-18. I again called Swiss Colony and this time I spoke with a very nice lady who made no excuses and said that my order should never have been shipped. Why would you offer to allow your customers to choose when they want something shipped and then ship it over a week sooner. I want a product that is as fresh as it can be, not almost a month old by the time Christmas gets here. Of course..... Maybe Swiss Colony's products are all stored in a freezer for hard telling how long? Anyway, the lady said that she was going to let me keep the order I would receive and would send out my order again closer to Christmas. This is yet to happen as this review was made on 12-6-18, I only hope that my products will indeed be sent out as promised. She said I could do whatever I wished with what I would soon receive, so I stuck them in a freezer and will use them for our immediate family at Christmas Time. If the replacement items do not come as promised, I will never do business with Swiss Colony again. I don't order a lot from them so maybe they could care less, but I have ordered from them going back many, many years. On Monday, 12-3-18 the package arrived via United States Postal Service not Fed Ex! So the customer service guy flat out lied to me when he said my order would be kept in a cooler until 12-8-18 and then shipped. So even if I had said that delivery should be on 12-8-18, my order arrived five days too soon. Come on Swiss Colony and ship a persons order as he or she has directed you to do. We ordered from Swiss Colony this year to make Thanksgiving extra special for the kids. We got a huge assortment, I believe the largest assortment they had. Our family absolutely loved it! The variety was great, the sizes of snacks I felt were perfect. They are on the small side but that's great when there is so much variety and you want to taste a little bit of everything.
