I bought the 5 in 1 pass which included this attraction. That's truly the best deal going rather than the walk-in price or even the on-line single price. They even offer the pass on the Sydney Tower Eye website. I also read that if the weather turns bad and low visibility they will allow you to revisit within a 7 day period for a do over. There's a 4D film prior to going up the elevator that was visually awesome. The elevator only takes 40 seconds to reach the top of this 309 meter tall building, which is pretty fast. The elevators only hold about 6 people at a time but there's 4 elevators. Once you step off, the 360 views are spectacular and there's informative touch screen monitors to help with the points of interest. I didn't do the skywalk part since I was perfectly content with the views I had and it was not included with my ticket...plus it was an additional $50 to go. They also take your picture on the skywalk and sell it to you in a small photo booklet with other photos of the tower. All-in-all I thought this was worth doing just on the views alone. I imagine doing this during sunset and getting nighttime shots would be amazing as well. read more

Why even bother? Because there's overseas guests in town and we go for the novelty and the view. That's it. Horrid that you pay downstairs and the whole party has to be there to go up to the restaurant. The staff downstairs are not friendly or helpful. Dealing with too many tourists? I was reluctant in going here in the first place - but sucked it up bc of overseas guests. It was a bad call on my part, but the best thing about it was the because the tables are quite narrow, it made a big group more intimate and encouraged conversation. It appears the wait staff on the floor have been instructed to clear away plates. That's their main priority. Forget trying to ask them anything else!! OH Sydney!! We actually bought ours when we saw the line, then went straight up to the desk and got our passes. The "4D" film was pathetic, but luckily it only lasts maybe 3 minutes. Sure the food is not fine dining but if you can lower your expectations a little in that regard, the view really can make for a pleasant experience. Considering the price for going up to the viewing deck alone is $25, paying $24.50 on top of that for a weekday lunch is not unreasonable (weekends & evenings more). There is a good variety of food including vegetarian & gluten free, so it's really just a matter of selecting what does look reasonable & leaving anything that looks overcooked .The desserts are particularly good & worth saving room for! We were a walk up booking at noon on a gorgeous sunny friday & were seated at the window. When we paid for the meal (downstairs before you get in the lift), we were told the table was for 90 mins. Even though the restaurant was busy with a tour group or 3, we were not reminded about the time or given the slightest hint it was time to leave after nearly 3 hours! Upon arriving, you enter into a 4D movie where the ground shakes and you get a little misty with water. Make sure you get your 3D glasses when checking in, which I completely forgot to do. Then you take the elevator up to the observation deck. You can stay there for a while looking out onto amazing 360 views of sydney. Try to go on a fairly clear day! You can see the opera house, QVB, hyde park, the water, etc... They have souvinirs and food for sale, overpriced i'm sure. read more

I came to Sydney Tower with my mother in law who was visiting from Argentina and my partner. It was $60 per person for the buffet. We paid downstairs and then got let through to the lifts where a security guard was. The buffet was good, but not memorable. The food was good but not spectacular. There was a salad bar with seafood as well and the mussels and oysters were fresh. I didn't eat the prawns. The hot food was good - there was roast pork, beef, kangaroo, emu sausages and crocodile sausages, and then asian food too. It was nothing spectacular though. The desserts were good too, again, nothing too extravagant. The good thing about Sydney Tower was that the labels advised if the food was gluten free or not which is what i found VERY useful! More restaurants should do this! The ice cream was good: there was hokey pokey and passionfruit which was nice. I only had the smallest bit of dessert but it was still good. Just like the other reviewers had said, the food is average, but you are paying for the view and the experience. You could purchase attraction passes online for a lot cheaper than buying them individually. I recommend doing that if you want to hit up the Sydney Wildlife Zoo, The Tower Eye, The Sydney Aquarium, and Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. If you don't have access to the internet, you can also purchase the attraction passes at individual places, but they are a bit more than they are online. I don't know why they don't honor the prices that are online. To actually get to the Sydney tower place, you need to enter the mall, go to the 5th floor and that's where the official checking-in process takes place. After checking in, you go to a really pointless 4-D film, with no chairs and a nasty mist coming your way. The lift that takes you up to the Tower Eye will fit max 6 average people so the wait to go up and down may take a while due to the queue. Once on the top, there's not really much that's breathtaking. If the Opera House was viewable, maybe, but all you see is buildings upon buildings, which is probably what I should've expected out of a busy city. Closed early when I went today. Luckily I was able to get up there before they closed. There was bad weather and limited visibility. The view from the top was mediocre at best. There's restaurants there and you have to go to level 5 of the mall to access the eye tower. Overall, I'd not recommend this place especially in the rain. If you look up from the city level, you'll say to yourself, 'how did they even build that thing', What looks like a space ship has landed on a oversized chimney, it's undoubtably noticeable, and in my opinion very ugly. Through the Westfeild shopping centre that houses the lower levels of the elevator to the top, you'll find a bit more information on its heritage, and once you're inside, you won't really care what it looked like from the outside, because that beautiful Sydney Skyline view rendered everything else futile. The restaurant is broken up into two sections, one buffet, and one sit down, waiter service. The buffet has a large selection of international favours, with good quality food for a reasonable price, considering the location. I recommend bringing your own camera, as the charming photographer will undoubtably want you to buy the ones they take for you. read more

I was here for our office Christmas party and there really is no better place to overlook Sydney. Aside from the view being a great conversation starter, it is also more than acceptable to longingly stare out the window when your boss is boring you to tears about the year's financials. The food was good but for an Aussie Christmas, options such as lamb shanks and roast chicken with vegetables are a bit heavy and 'comfort food' for the heat. Drinks service is quick and the staff are super polite and efficient. Nothing about this place screams "atmosphere" so you'd better have a good group of people or a big bar tab to bring the room to life. read more

While $26 might seem like a steep price to most just to get elevator access to a higher floor, for me no stop to a major city is complete without getting a view from the highest point possible. At 309 meters high, this tower does the trick, and it's actually a great way to start a trip to Sydney so you can get a lay of the land before setting off to explore the city. For some people, perhaps the biggest downside will be that before you can go up, they make you watch a cheesy video. They call it a "4D experience," but apparently in this place, the 4th dimension of spacetime has been replaced with some paper 3D glasses, a rumbling floor, and some spray of watery mist when they show the ocean. I embraced it for the cheesiness it was, and since the video was only less than 5 minutes, it was a good laugh to get me started. read more

Awful! It's like a cheap Las Vegas all-you-can-eat buffet. They make you pay up front before you even go up to the restaurant, so what do they care what quality they provide after you arrive? They have the tables so tightly packed in the restaurant you CANNOT get out of your table if people are sitting at the neighboring tables. And, if you want a bottle of sparkling water? $11, up front, before they'll bring it. It's just a tourist trap and they want to make the most money possible, up front, because they know you'll never be coming back. Skip it. Terrible! The only thing going for Sydney Tower Restaurant is the view. The food was very average (I have had better at some cafeteria's). The food selection was limited and bland. All of the meats were dry and tasteless. Service was poor too. We were allocated a seating at 6:45pm for 90 minutes (at a cost of $85 each), however we had to queue to get ticket for the elevator, queue for the elevator and then when reaching the top, queue again to be seated. By the time we were actually seated, 20 minutes of our 90 minute session had passed. This might have been acceptable if the restaurant was busy, but they were only a quarter full. Our drinks order was not taken until another 20 minutes into our dining session. Do yourself a favour, go up the Tower to enjoy the view, but eat elsewhere. You would be better off eating in the food court downstairs. read more

The movie lasts about 5 mins and sprays a bit of water (really just a misting) and smoke during the show for the interactive part. This is a part of my 4 in 1 adventure passes. Located at Westfield's 5th floor, it was not easy to find as you would have to go through the right escalators to find this place. Westfield itself (including the food court) closes early but this place opens till 10pm. While asking whether I was going to the right direction, the staff gave me a 3D glasses and told me that I was in for a 4D 5 minutes film. Waited for awhile before I went in to the room with the cinematic experience. The short film was pretty good but it will be better if they lengthen it another 5 more minutes. Instead of sitting down, it was actually a stand up experience. Love the effects that the film had (vibrating grounds, fire and water effect). Then we were asked to go to the front of the lift to wait for a lift that will bring us to the top. The lift was pretty narrow and I am glad that since the others were taking their own sweet time, I went up on my own. I managed to capture the sunset panoramic view from the windows they provided. Managed to spot some of the famous buildings/ landmarks too. Got pretty good shots of the views but as it was quite crowded when I was there, some of the shots had reflections on it. There is a gift store here where you could purchase more Australia souvenirs. There is also a small cafe where you could purchase beverages which you can sip on while looking at the amazing sunset view. I also noticed that there is a skywalk where you stand on layered glasses and walking around the Sydney Tower Eye but you would have to make appointment and pay extra to do that as there will be guides to take care of you while you are on top. You would need to wear a special suit too. Overall, this is definitely a nice place to watch the sun sets as you could take good pictures of Sydney. People around the world came here while I was there to witness the sky turning from bright to dark. Was definitely a worth it trip to be up there especially when it is a part of the 4 in 1 or 5 in 1 attractions passes. :) read more

If you like heights you'll be fine.....if you don't - your gonna have to get over it and just go up and look at the breathtaking views of Sydney. The cost is good value to get in....if you book online before you visit and go to more than one tourist location you get bigger discounts - and once your in you can spentd as long as you want staring out. The lift to the top is rather quick for the distance you go. My fave time to go up is just before sunset so you see by day and by night......!! They do have a small place to get coffee and and a prepack cake/sandwich....and thats my only complaint - it could do with a small cafe for ppl to sit at!! Prior to entering the elevator you are forced to take a picture against a "green screen" and then at the end, they try to sell you products with your picture superimposed. This seems to be a norm at the tourist hot spots (also happened at the Opera House) but it just seems like it should be optional. Most people didn't want to have their picture taken but were coerced into it anyways. The lady in front of us was visiting by herself and politely told the photographer she wasn't interested and tried to walk by. The photographer told her she needed to do it. I'm failing to see why this was necessary. The lady finally gave up and stood there with a blank face while the photographer took the picture. We didn't want our picture taken either but after what we had just witnessed, decided it was easier to just put on a fake half smile and go with it. The people who ask to skip are not going to buy whatever product is being sold, why waste time making it. Other than that, it was a fun experience akin to the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. I enjoyed the interactive screens that gives fun facts and historical information about the surrounding area. It was a fun place to visit but I would probably skip it if I had a limited amount of time. 3 stars. read more

Glad I did it but I wouldn't do it again. At something like $26 per adult entry it was steep BUT I was able to take some really gorgeous photos from an aerial vantage. Seeing that I am a photographer it meant a great deal. The part I disliked was their 4D movie, which was basically a 5 minute video of an exotic bird flying over Sydney. There were effects like bubbles and mist and a rumbling floor to compliment whatever was happening on the screen. It was cheesy but made for a great chuckle. Once up to the observation deck I made one walk around and then went back down. I was probably up there 5 minutes. If I had children with me I'm sure I would have stayed a little longer. read more

This review is for the: Sydney Tower Buffet at CentrePoint Tower. Overall my girlfriend and I had a highly memorable experience! I am giving this place 5 stars because it delivers exactly what we expected for what is on offer. A revolving restaurant that rotates very slowly, taking about 1.5 hours for 1 rotation means that you get a view of the whole city and harbour from every angle in your 2 hour sitting. The Buffet has a great range of food to choose from and was constantly being refilled from the kitchen staff who were seen as quite professional. I have heard of people complaining about the food in other reviews but we did not have any issues. Of course they had the typical buffet style food of simple pastas and noodles however we did not waste our time eating the simple spring rolls or other common buffet food. Instead we filled up on the delicacies of Kangaroo, Emu, Crocodile, braised Lamb, Angus beef, fresh seafood and much much more. We feel it was quite delicious. Also being all you can eat it was hard to save room for the dessert menu but we squeezed in some treats before finishing up with some fresh fruit. All in all we ended up going slightly over our 2 hour sitting but were not bothered at all and were left in peace to finish up. The noise level was a little loud as there were a few people there when we went but that is to be expected at a buffet style restaurant were people are up and walking around. If you are new to Sydney or even if you have lived here your whole life (like us) then I believe you definitely should check it out! read more

The reason we came here was for the view and our friends were all going. The restaurant tried to cram in as many tables as possible. We felt rather constricted through out the meal. The buffet lines were long. People had to hug the wall of the narrow walkway while holding their plates. The food was just ordinary. Best to come at sunset and you get the night view too. read more

Tourist trap - yes - but as someone who've been to Taipei 101, Willis Tower, Space Needle etc. I am not impressed by the Sydney Tower Eye. Entrance was inside a shopping mall and took a while to locate. The entrance ticket includes a "4D experience" which is about 5 minutes long, but it was so cheesy I almost wanted to walk out and continue. The elevator has no windows which is a missed opportunity to experience the view. While up in the observation deck, the view is exactly what you would expect. Took about 15 minutes to look at everything and clicked on some computer screen. The elevator wait was longer. Overall I would recommend those whom are looking for something more adventurous to climb the bridge instead of visiting this tower. Great for kids though. read more

We visited the Sydney tower a few days ago with my kids. Upon chek-in, the young lady working the front desk tried to up sale three times on other activities. Once we finally established that up selling was not an opportunity, we agreed upon a 1 PM start time for our sky walk. She called upstairs and confirmed everything so I assumed all was well. Upon arriving at the observation deck, we enjoyed the views and interactive screens highlighting different buildings and points if interest which were well done. At about 12:45 PM, we went to the desk to check-in and buy some water. During our transaction to purchase our water, the lady helping us stopped helping us and started helping the next customer to check into the sky walk while we sat there and they went thru the whole process. An interesting note is they were not on the reservation list. After about five minutes, she started helping us again. There was confusion, which happens with the call up from the main desk, and they did not have our names on the registration either. This seemed to cause great concern and then they proceeded to have a lengthy discussion in front of me regarding whose fault it was and ignored us. Once her conversation with her colleagues including two phone calls down stairs was completed, she asked if we could go later in the day and I said no just because I thought the whole thing had become ridiculous. We finally got in it suits, which was really fun and went upstairs. Once at the starting gate, they realized their were 17 people but only 15 allowed at one time. Then we spent about ten minutes discussing what to do, who was registered when etc. finally, this was resolved and three people were moved to the next tour. At last we go to the Skywalk, which was fun and our guide Michelle did a really good job making it fun and awnsering Iots of questions from a good group of customers. I am sure they are more organized usually and we enjoyed the experience, but the side show regarding how to better manage reservations, up selling from our initial contact and the general poor customer service at the upstairs checkin left us cause from concern. I am not sure I would recommend this experience, or just suggest you go into it knowing they are a bit unorganized with the multiple check-in points. read more

Maybe it's because I've been to too many towers at other locations, but this was not very impressive. The cost is steep. I used a iVenture card instead of paying at the location. I think it's cheaper. They make you watch a 5 minute 4D video before going to the observation deck. I'm not really sure what the video was for other than watching a bird fly throughout Sydney and showing the sites? The view was beautiful, but the observation deck was just packed like crazy. Oh yeah, for those that don't know where it's at. It's at the Westfield shopping center on the 5th floor. The views from Sydney Tower is breathtaking. I would often stay with my family at the Swissotel across the road. While the dining at the Tower is a bit overrated, it's great to enjoy a cocktail or other beverage in addition to the view. A birds eye view of the city is simply a must. The food available is nothing to write home about and is displayed in a buffet style format, which simply yells cheap and nasty to me. I had been expected a beautiful 5 star dinner- how wrong was I! The view is the main reason you should make the trip, even if you dislike heights! The 360 panoramic view is simply stunning and very worthwhile! read more

We went close to sunset so we could catch the view during sunset and stay for the view of the city lights. This seemed to be a really good time to go. The 3D movie you watch beforehand is just OK. No seating, you stand for it or sit/lean against railings, so remember that if that is a problem for you. Probably would have rather just skipped it and had less of a wait. You then head up the elevators, kind of a long wait for this whole process. You do have a nice view across the harbor to the north and east, out to the west, and south past the airport. However as others have noted the view of the Circular Quay area is obscured. On a clear day/night this isn't bad but I probably wouldn't pay this price for it. 3.5 stars. Overall, I think Auckland's tower was a better experience. read more

I didn't go here for the food (didn't try the restaurant so I can't do a review on that). What I did go here for was the spectacular view at the top. This was my last tourist spot before I went back to the airport. I went there as soon as the Tower opened so I was the first in line. The view at the top was amazing - you can see almost all of the landmarks of Sydney save for the Opera House (a huge building was covering it sadly). I want to go back to see the night view - I bet it will be just as beautiful. It was a good way to end trip - you stand there looking at the view and reminisce your entire trip. Sydney, you do not disappoint :) Definitely a highly recommended place to anyone who is planning to visit Sydney! read more

We did this on the last day in Sydney, and wished we had done it on the first or second. It was truly an amazing 360 degree view over Sydney. One reason I wish we had done it first off was to give us perspective on where everything was in relation to where we were staying (the Hilton Sydney). The other reason being, was the amazing views! We did the bridge climb thinking the views would be amazing, but seriously.....the views from the Sydney Tower Eye are incredible. We went in the morning on a Wednesday and had no line. Not sure why the complaints about being herded like cattle and touristy. We didn't have any issues like that. This is why one must read more than one or two reviews. We've been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the Statue of Liberty, and stood in line for many other fabulous attractions. Of course it is a tourist attraction, but it's to most everyone's benefit. Some just need to learn to go with the flow and learn some patience. Stop and smell the roses once and a while. The price was more than fair. We used a 20% off coupon out of a Sydney What's On booklet. read more
