I am not convinced the tutoring is worth the money. Most of the staff is great with the children. This particular location needs a great deal of improvement when it comes to co-parenting families. Sylvan Learning of Doctor Phillips is not just the best place for a child to learn, it is the only place that should even be considered. My son has went above and beyond his teachers expectation at the end of kindergarten. He was behind in reading and I was worried that he wasn't going to pass. I was reassured at Sylvan that not only would he pass, but enjoy reading. At the end of last year, I was told from his teacher that he passed kindergarten and showed confidence when reading. He is now in first grade and excelling! He is ahead in his sight words, volunteers to read in class and reads everything around the house. Sylvan has made my sons confidence soar and he now enjoys school. I can't say enough great things about Sylvan Learning of Doctor Phillips. They are the BEST!!! read more

Our son has been going since spring of 2014 and he has improved so much in reading and has a lot more confidence in himself . I have been an active member of our local Parent Teacher Student Association for years. I have held leadership roles as president, treasurer, and fundraising chair. Because of my involvement, many parents come to me for advice regarding their children's academic needs. I love to recommend services that have helped my children; unfortunately, Sylvan in Dr. Phillips is not on that list. I have not had a good experience with Sophia Wasu, the owner of Sylvan in Dr. Phillips and Ocoee. She informed me that I would receive a refund of $345 for a STEM class registration that I canceled, but after weeks of waiting, she has not mailed the refund yet. I followed her instructions on how to request the refund, so I am not sure why she was so unpleasant about agreeing to issue the refund, claiming the money will come from her personal account. This was my first experience with Sylvan, and as a result, I can not recommend the Sylvan facilities in Dr. Phillips and Ocoee to others. read more
