I was excited when we were able to provide our son the opportunity to participate in this wonderful program. Our son has been going to Sylvan's for a year now, since he was 4.5, and we have been very pleased with his pre-reading skills. The skills he has mastered while attending Sylvan's more than prepared him for the 1st grade curriculum taught in his Kindergarten class. In fact, he was placed in the high achieving group in his classroom and I believe what he is learning through the Sylvan's program played a huge role. Initially we signed him up for reading but we were able to switch over to the math program without a problem. I have noticed that he is more confident with math and eager to show and tell us what he's learned after his sessions. Tommy and Kayla seemed to have created a program that not only reinforces what he is learning in school but, also seems to double back to make sure there are no gaps or holes in his math building skills. I think I have a Philomath on my hands. :) Bottom line, our son LOVES going to Sylvan's. He looks forward to going every week because his tutors are so patient and knowledgable. We love Sylvan's because we have seen the results of both his reading and math tutoring in his school assessments. I have recommended Sylvan's in Livonia to my family and friends and, I would recommend it to anyone who has a child that needs help in math and/or reading.
