Well, I said no thank you find me another tutor and they did. Well my son really liked this tutor so we were all happy cuz that in it of itself is a task. Had one session, then I get an email from the school about a tutor leaving junior tutor to premier and to be happy for this person. Like I truly care. So low and behold I get a call saying that my tutor for my son cant tutor him unless I pay more money. I own a plumbing business if my journeyman plumber became a mater plumber in the middle of your job I cant charge you more money. Thats not your expense. So now I reported this to the BBB spoke to my attorney and sure enough this is not the way one conducts business. So please if you have your child here and they try to pull this bait and switch dont fall for it and know it's not legal

After all the time and effort, I think what happened is that she just got older, and they called this progress. I don't think it was worth the time and especially the money. Most of the "clinicians" are young college graduates and they are friendly and follow the programs well. They are good people, but I voiced my opinion that I didn't think the program was being effective and wanted to make sure we were on the right track. I was repeatedly told that it was a part of the program and that we'd "see" all the work done as it begins to translate outside of their program at the very end of the program. At the end of the program, I feel like they just "finished" the program because they couldn't justify taking any more of our money and time. At the end we still have major behavior problems and poor grades, etc.

Both were terrible. They spent so much time expecting you to do the problems or write essays while they sat there on their phones for like 60 minutes. The last 15 minutes were spent reviewing and giving me advice. Jenny spent more time being my therapist than teaching me the material and made me watch YouTube videos instead of just drawing it out and explaining it to me. She should've assigned that as homework and then gone over it afterward. I know more about her entire life story moving from a different country and dropping pre-med than I do about AP Biology. I also later found out that the head director there, Jane, scammed my parents for more money. Right before I submitted my college essays, she asked my parents for hundreds of dollars to help pay the tutors since they supposedly weren't doing well economically. My parents couldn't say no because my college essays were on the line. What disgusting behavior to put parents through, especially when they were already paying thousands for tutoring sessions. I'm livid because I only found out two years later. As for James, he probably spent 90% of the time on his phone and 10% helping me write my college essays. I have evidence as well. He was so unwelcoming and would get annoyed with me if I didn't understand the advice he gave me. I would dread going to his sessions and feel extremely uncomfortable the entire time because he would just sit in front of me behind a glass frame, glancing up from his phone from time to time while I typed away on my laptop. I would never be able to ask follow-up questions because I would be met with so much attitude.

She then prepared us to be academically ready for the private school curriculum, and even now, we are doing remote tutoring 3X a week and my son is really excelling. He received high honors (3.74 GPA) on his first report card in middle school n before that was just a B level student. This school pushes challenging academics and they really make their students earn their grades. We would never have been prepared for this type of curriculum had we not been constantly receiving enrichment from Elevate. I've told Serena that I was willing to pay full price even though we are totally remote and still it is so worth it. She's accommodating and extremely organized with scheduling while working so hard to advocate for both of my kids. Don't get me wrong, we have found a handful of really excellent tutors to work with us in person while we are in Hawaii. However none of them offer the services that Serena does, STEM classes, coding classes, book clubs, contests, pre-k tutoring, and she even worked to throw a private party for my son.... as that is what he wanted.
