At one time this establishment was well known for its topless waiting staff and an extremely busy little place it was too.

From my first time there to my most recent visit, the owner of the cafe has consistently come out to greet me and ask me how my day has been. This sort of pleasantry goes a long way and leaves a lasting impression ensuring the return of their customers. It's little things like small talk, wiping down your table and ensuring you have a clean ashtray that make the experience all the more enjoyable. The Deli is limited to breakfast and lunch meals, but do both extremely well with a huge variety of dishes to choose from. Their version of the B.L.T in a focaccia is my personal favourite, and the sizing doesn't leave you wanting more. The chicken schnitzel wrap is also a delectable choice. Coffee here is superb, and the fact that they offer large mugs is a bonus - the more the better! In addition to hot beverages, the cafe also makes smoothies on demand with your choice of ingredients. My girlfriend loves their freshly squeezed orange juice and carrot smoothies, and although the combination of the two may be off-putting, it's surprisingly good. The only criticism I can make of this place is that they don't stay open too long passed lunchtime and are closed on weekends, which is a downer if you're hoping to grab a late lunch or a weekend brunch.

There's a few tables if you've got time to sit down, and apparently they've got a wifi connection, but I'm not sure if it's free or not, as I didn't have the time to reconfigure my phone to check it out. I'll be going back again next time I'm nearby and in need of a hot drink.

The thing is that during the summer months poor Daniel's wife is so good at flipping burgers and making sandwiches she gets run off her feet. This is one popular hot spot for folks making the trek down Henley Beach Road to the beach or from the beach. Good solid hamburgers with a mix of salads available and a range of cakes. There are all the grocery type items you'll need if you live in the immediate area and for those of you wishing to stop for a drink there are all the obvious choices available including Adelaide's favourite - Iced Coffee - yes the whole Deli has been painted up to resemble a big carton of Farmer's Union Iced Coffee, but you know, that's just how things get done when you run a family store. It really is the fresh food that is made, the cut sandwiches and the flipped burgers that have made this a number one secret venue for several years now. There is outdoor seating and tables for up to half a dozen or so people and there is a park right next door with trees and grass, so it's an ideal spot to stop if you are on the move. I couldn't speak more highly about it than Daniel's good lady herself - and rest assured, she will tell you how popular the menu is! It's first and foremost a deli, so don't expect much more than that - but if you want to order take away you can call ahead, and if you don't mind waiting on site, it is well worth the wait. I'll have a burger with the lot!

Back then Parkside was a bit dingy, a bit boho and very multicultural - Greek and Italian families predominated. Fast forward 25 years and Parkside has now been gentrified and and is a bit yuppiefied but blessedly Duthy St deli harks back to its deli origins and not just in name only. Vasili our host, has been smoothly operating a very successful cafe here for a number of years. Good service, well trained baristas, efficient chefing on view and a consistent, reliable extremely well presented selection of breakfast and lunch cold and hot items. Shrewdly but thankfully very competitively priced in a locale that could cough up more. Always good and always fresh -congratulations on maintaining the tradition in a slice of slightly out of the way suburbia. PS I do miss the Haigh's dark chocolate buttons though that used to accompany the coffee (I'd be prepared to pay a little more to have the chance to drop one in to create a gooey chocolaty melting moment on top of my latte/cappuccino froth). Ah - those were the days. Sigh!

Especially got a laugh from the visible work 'notice board' reminding wait staff to generally stop being idiots and stay off their phones during service piled amongst other threats. Does explain the faultless service on their part. Food is pricey but utterly amazing, the space is huge and the service is awesome so ruling with an iron fist must be working for them! Coffee was made by who I assume was the owner as he exuded the kind of confidence with a coffee machine only decades could foster. The eggs were perfect, my partners french toast and burger were beautiful and all up it was a great and riotous experience. Will be back!

You are so lucky to be set in such a beautiful little neighbourhood, so close to the industrial train lines but tucked away amongst all those cute Goodwood cottages. The cute embroidered chair cushions and large wooden tables was a nice detail you added to my lunch experience. Although your prices are a little bit more than your standard cafe, the choice you provided was great for lunch. And you must have known I'm a fan of an all day brunch too. My coffee was smooth and lunch of citrus smashed avo on rye with smoked salmon and fetta was fresh and zingy. My dining partner's pulled pork bun with potato salad looked lovely too. Thank you for friendly and speedy service. I look forward to catching up again soon. Best wishes, Chloe

Dear Daisy occupies the space left by the Leah St Deli and is right on the tram line next to the Forestville tram stop next to the hairdressers. I've popped in and out of here a number of times for coffee and have been most satisfied with smooth flat whites and spicy long blacks and am always pleased with the sparkly service and cheery staff. The menu here is catered to the breakfast/brunch crew (all day breakfast, huzzah!) but Dear Daisy is developing a great lunch menu. The selection features all your standards for brekkie and lunch has a mix of wraps and rolls as well as some great specials (pulled pork buns, zucchini fritters anyone?) and over the past week since its opened I've seen the menu change and evolve. Lunching here I had a pulled pork bun with coleslaw with potato salad on the side, the pork was soft and tender and the potato salad had pickles (yay!) with yumminess all round. Pricing is quite reasonable and on the cheap side for the Goodwood area. Really looking forward to getting round to breakfast here and with 7am opening on the weekdays, I'm thinking a post night duty pick me up breakfast treat is in order!
