I had a great experience with Sen so I thought I write a review in case it's still relevant. I sought out a traditional Chinese acupuncturist because I've had great results from other nontraditional acupuncturist. Symmetry had great review, so I booked an appointment. My main issue was an old knee injury That had morphed into a 24/7 painful situation. Sen's treatments combined with herbs relieved the pain and helped me to lose some weight. read more

I have been seeing Sen for a couple months now and he has greatly helped me with my digestion and a few other issues I was having. He does a style of acupuncture that really yields results. While there are many acupuncturists in town, I came here because he offers Chinese herbs. I have been taking them everyday and can tell my digestion is getting stronger and I feel more focused. I don't really like the idea of needles but he is quick and listens to you if you need something adjusted. He works out of a small office so it's not really a spa type of feel like other acupuncturists have but I don't mind the simplicity of the room if it means I'm getting healthier. read more

Sen Wang is a reckless and dangerous charlatan. I visited Sen Wang at Symmetry Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs for tight muscles in my shoulders. I have never experienced such painful acupuncture. He pushed the needles in way too far, despite my screams, insisting that the depth was necessary. Following the acupuncture I was dizzy and brain foggy. He sat me in a chair and violently scrapped my neck and shoulders with a small plastic box for about 10 minutes. He explained: "You have pathogens in your muscles. This will make a rash. The rash is the pathogens coming out." I did not stop him because of the dizziness, mental fog and assumption that he was an expert. My neck and shoulders were immediately bruised (see my photo, taken 30 minutes following the appointment.) He moved me to another chair and opened a white, generic looking bottle of powder (his wall was lined with them) and unwrapped an individually-wrapped plastic spoon. He held up a spoonful of the powder and said "This is a combination of 11 Chinese herbs. Take 1 spoonful twice a day." He pushed the bottle and spoon into my hands and asked for my insurance and credit cards. While swiping my card on the square reader on his phone he said "That's $25 for the co-pay and $21 for the herbs." I protested stating that I didn't want the herbs and tried to hand the bottle and spoon back to him. He refused to take them and said "I already prepared it for you. You can't give it back." Again, I protested and tried to hand the bottle back to him. He said "No. You can't return it. I already opened it." and refused to take them. Later I looked at the bottle and found that it listed a single herb as the ingredient, not eleven as he'd claimed. My neck was so painful and weak the following day that I had to wear a whiplash collar. My neck and shoulders were sore and bruised for 2 weeks. I was referred to him by a coworker who had visited him several times. He had not charged her a co-pay. She and I had the same insurance. He did not ask if I wanted my neck scraped. He lied about the rash, "pathogens" and contents of the bottle. He took advantage of my decreased consciousness. He did not ask if I wanted to purchase herbs. He did not state the price before opening the bottle. He did not ask if I was taking any prescriptions or if I had any allergies. His treatment of my neck and shoulders was reckless. I returned 2 weeks later with the herbs and demanded a refund. He made a fuss. He asked "So the herb is unused?" and attempted to put the spoon back in the wrapper to make it appear unopened. I have been to several acupuncturists, masseuses and have even done cupping. The few Yelp reviews he has are excellent, so it would appear that his treatment is relative to the patient and what he thinks he can get away with, who he thinks can't tell the difference between a rash and a bruise and would be dumb enough to believe that muscles can contain pathogens.
