What an awesome staff. Dr.. Stone diagnosed the issue. Made some adjustments and prescribed medication. Unfortunatally he also diagnosed that needed a root canel. The staff made the arrangements to have the procedure done in Rapid City the next day. Not what I was looking for while visiting the Black Hills but ya'll made it a whole lot better. I came to Spearfish Canyon Health are on 4-25-2025 and was discharged per my request on 4-28-2025…read more I requested going there since I was having major back surgery and thought I might need some help... This was the biggest mistake I had made.. The first night I was there was Friday 4-25, that evening, I did not get all my meds, I was told that I would be getting them in about 20 minutes, after around 2 hrs, And 2-3 calls with no response, I walked to the front desk to find out why I could not get these, my response From the night nurses Amy was they are working on it..., I said all you have to do is open up my bag and get them... There was a list in there of what I take and when.... Per Amy, she said that, BH Ortho and spine hospital had put a hold on them and did not release the hold so could not get them with out a referral form the rehab Dr and it probably would not be till tomorrow, Saturday. I guess Drs do not receive calls after hours... The next day Saturday, my daughter talked to the day nurse and explained, if they are not going to be able to help me then she will take me home..... The day nurse on Saturdy finally got hold of the Rehab Dr and got the hold off and was able to give me my meds.... Amy said it is really hard to get everything going when you come in on a weekend... WHY would a facility not have a on call DR ??????????? Saturday, things a little better, only got about 3 hrs of sleep on Friday night then on Saturday night only about 3 hrs sleep. I don't remember a bunch on Saturday... I asked someone if I could wash my hair, no they did not have shampoo, told her I would just wash it in my sink in my room... The lady said oh you cannot do that, it would be bad for my back. When I got back to my room I shut my door and washed my hair in the sink I asked Amy (night nurses) if I could go to my granddaughters play on Saturday, she said no way.... ok so then on Saturday I asked the day nurse just for the heck of it and she said that would be fine no problem... When I first got there Amy put a cover over my insicion, it was only hanging on by a piece by Sunday, so I pulled it all the way off. NOt one time other than that did they check my incision I asked for a muscle relaxer was told could only take one every 12 hours but the next day I got 2 at one time ???? On Sunday my legs swelled up and we're really hurting, asked if I could get a diuretic ?????? no way, need a referral for that.... One of my meds was lisinipril, when I got home I found that they were giving me a RX of Metoprolol tart, why did I get a new Rx when I was taking a different one... I was not told about this so was I taking a double dose of the same RX. I was discharged on Monday after seeing the facility DR... The dining room and food was great, and the ones who would take me to the kitchen or help me in the bathroom or answer a call were great... As you can see by my notes, this was a very unpleasant stay. I will never come there again....... I told both The night nurses and day nurse, if someone would just explain to me why, i could of handled a lot more. Communication there Stinks I got absolutely no care there I I could not of done at home by myself......

As our regular dentist had retired a few months prior I had to shop around. Glad I found this place. Doc explained options and we decided to fix my tooth instead of yanking it. I needed a crown - and decided to get a bridge so I could be able to chew more proficiently- now I…read morecan't chew at all on that side- Dr Hopper broke the other tooth, and could not be honest with me that he did that he could've save me a lot of money at that point pretty sad he will never admit his fault I would have rather him been truthful with me than to tell me he wouldn't know if it was going to be ok, at that point it would take time to feel better I wasted $3500 on a bridge that I could've put towards an implant - funny, his little helper at that point told me it's sad that dentist don't admit their fault. I was wondering what she was saying ,now I know. I've never had a dentist, numb me to put a crown on after it was completed it only takes is the glue - now I know why he numbed me because he broke my tooth . It's gonna cost me probably $15,000 now he if he would've just been honest with me to begin with I would have excepted it at that point. I'm not going back . I'm sad

Spent two hours in the chair he billed me $265. The consultation with the specialist is going to cost $258, that is so they can tell me how much the rest is going to cost. Naturally I have no dental insurance since dental insurance is unaffordable and probably would not cover any of this anyway.
