The company owner was at first hesisitant then said "I can promised to get the work on your furnace done. But I need $100.00 deductible. Normally they won't approve this." It was all lies. I paid, I waited. Three weeks later I called and the guy acts like it's a major in convince to tell me he stole my money! He said he had called me. Again, caught owner in a lie. Cell phones keep accurate records. Having earned my five digit builders license in 19&79 and having subbed to thousands of tradesmen this outfit would be in the lowest part of the worst rejected ten percent. At the most desperate times I never would allow these clowns be on any job I was associated with in any way! I would not recomend... even to my ex wife!

My home is nearly 100 years old and uses a boiler and radiators for heat and a high velocity SpacePak system in the attic for air conditioning. I bought the home in 2020 and it had been flipped, so you know it has its fair share of quirks. Dave and the crew have serviced all aspects of our heating and cooling systems at this point, from smaller boiler issues to much larger AC issues. The AC system was basically falling apart when I moved in and they helped me get a few extra years out of it. This past spring, we finally pulled the trigger on a complete replacement. Dave came to look everything over again and gave me a few different quotes to choose from. The team dismantled the old system and installed the new one in about a day and a half. Great! But once summer rolled around and I started using the new system, I found that it wasn't cooling like it should. Uh-oh. Dave and the crew put in countless extra hours and additional labor (at no cost to me) until it was all running correctly. It turned out it was no problem with their installation (not that I had any doubts) but with some very specific and hard-to-detect issues with the manufacture of the condenser unit (which was brand new from the manufacturer). I was blown away that Dave and his team would put in so much extra effort to get to the bottom of things and that they maintained their usual friendly, professional attitude even though it was a frustrating situation for them working in a hot attic! All along the way they were very communicative and had ideas and plans and back-up plans and kept at it until they solved the problems. I'm so happy I went with Dearborn Heating and Cooling for this work. I can't imagine another crew would have had the same commitment to quality or the level of knowledge needed to solve such a specific, unexpected issue. I ended up calling another company to come out and when they opened up the furnace discovered the following: The gas line did not have a drip chamber to catch condensation There was no grommet around the entry where the electrical wires come through and exposed wires were up against the metal casing The gas was set way too low In short, my high efficiency furnace was running at about 85% rather than the 96% the sticker claimed it should be running at. I would call them to complain, but I know they wouldn't care and would likely cite my "attitude" problem in defense of their lack of competence.
