I had a system installled by a different company a few years ago and it was never charged correctly. I called the famed T&G and they tried to rob me blind after they came out with some outrageous pricing for refrigerant. Contacted at least 5 other companies that would not tell me how much per lb they charge for refrigerant the tech will let you know after the diagnostic, no thank you. I message prime time here on yelp and the pricing was up front and reasonable. Tech arrived within the arrival time frame was knowledgeable and completed the task within 20 minutes. Prime Time replaced our AC this past week, and we're feeling so good with our decision to hire them. They installed a water heater for us years ago, and this is still a great co to hire. First off, setting up an appt to get a quote was so easy over text. The office mgr is professional, responsive, and always polite. What I especially liked is how Kevin, the owner, double checked whether the old unit could be repaired, provided two quotes (standard and high efficiency), and installed the new Bryant unit. There is no separate sales and installation teams. It was clean, eventless, and done in 4 hours. Another co, recommended by ConsEnergy, gave a quote that was more for a standard unit. The second, smaller 22-year-old AC died the next day!! And what was really amazing is how they sent over Josh within an hour of my text to diagnose and fix that one!! Seriously stellar service. Prime Time and Kevin have serviced our Carrier furnace for several years. He and his crew are very knowledgable, provide quick response time and take the time needed to explain what's going on. His fix really fixes rhe problem. The last problem we had involved a complicated diagnosis that included faulty pipe work by the original installer. Our heat went out on New Years morning at 4:22AM! What a way to start the year, right? So we hunkered down for a couple of hours with a lot of blankets, & our cat in our bed. I went to Yelp to ask for help and prime Time Heatings. Kevin, called us back right away! It was about 7:15 AM & he said he'd try to be here within an hour or two. My mom bought a house in Westland and after moving in, found the furnace and air conditioner and ductwork were not installed correctly when the new furnace ( but not air conditioning unit ) was installed in 2017 for the previous owner. The ducts were not connected and pouring refrigerated air into the space between the sub floor and basement drop ceiling. The top of the furnace was not screwed down and air pouring out into the furnace/laundry room. The filter was the wrong size and dirty, probably installed by the previous owner. My brother in law connected the ductwork and stuffed a towel on top of the furnace to hold it together where it should have been screwed down when replaced in 2017, but was not. The air conditioner was running non stop and not cooling the main floor of the ranch house while the basement was freezing with a 15* difference. Kevin came out with his tech and checked everything out. He explained everything well. He found the place in the basement ceiling to open the upstairs bedroom vent that we were unable to find. The new filter has helped a lot. The main floor is cooling much better and evenly. Kevin did not try to sell us a new air conditioning unit because after testing it, he said the current unit could last many more years and was confidant it would work much better after opening the main floor bedroom vent and the filter change. Kevin really eased our minds and helped us feel better about this house and the situation with the top of the furnace. For now, it is working fine. Wow, what a great experience! My furnace was giving me problems all week, so when I messaged the owner on Yelp's Request a Quote, I wasn't expecting a response back so quickly. Kevin, the owner got back to me within 20 minutes with a heating repairman that could even come out same day with a decent price. Nick, my repairman was AWESOME! He repaired our heating problem very quickly and we were able to get our new Ecobee properly installed too which was giving us problems. He even gave us tips to contact Consumer Energy for possible rebates. He was very knowledgeable about our heat problems and helped answer any questions we had. My central air conditioning had gone out. I called Prime Time. The person that scheduled my appt. and the service tech Nicholas were both very nice. When the tech discovered that my circuit breaker to the unit had gone bad, he said he couldn't repair it bc he's not an electrician. He explained that his boss wouldn't allow it, but he had called to ask anyway. With lawsuit's running rampant these days, I understood the tech predicament. He apologized many times. This is my issue with Prime Time: you can't install air conditioning or furnaces without doing electrical work. Why would you service either of the scope of what you can do eliminates any electrical work?? Changing the breaker is a very simple task. So I paid for a service call, did find out the problem... But had to call another company to do the repair. (Which was another heating and cooling co.) It just doesn't make sense and cost me more bc of their limitations. After posting this Kevin the owner of prime time immediately responded and offered to refund, and did refund my service fee. He did explain that they have an electrician they use, but only for larger jobs I've change my rating from a two star to a four star. I am so thankful to have found this company on Yelp, Home Advisor and Angie's List! On Monday (the week of Thanksgiving), Nick came out for our furnace making a metal-on-metal grinding noise. He was great! When we could not recreate the noise, he suggested that we wait and see what happens since our furnace is already 15 years old, but that if we really wanted to spend money that he could order a part and replace it even though it was only somewhat likely to be the issue. He told us they back their service calls for 90 days, so if the noise did in fact return I could call them to come back out. In the middle of the night after Thanksgiving, a new alarming noise started coming from our furnace. I called in the morning to hear on their message that they were closed until Monday. The temps were plumeting. The owner, Kevin, returned my call promptly. He came out on Friday morning, and thankfully we determined it was the humidifier fan casing that had cracked and was causing sometimes metal-on-metal vibrations and other times a whirling/ whining noise. What a relief in terms of money first of all, but more importantly both Kevin and Nick were will to educate and explain to me how the furnace works and what parts usually make what kind of noises when they begin to fail. I will definitely buy my next furnace from Prime Time. I am so thankful to have found this company.
