Such a great experience! I've been going to Synergy for over a year now and my main complaints are gone! I came In originally because my left knee was constantly feeling like it was going to go "out" again. I have had my patella (kneecap) slip off to the outside several times through the years (I'm now60). It's incredibly painful and frightening, especially since my condo is 3 stories... Within the first couple of months, I basically forgot about my knee - it no longer keeps bothering me - except when I don't count in for a couple of weeks... lesson learned! I want to start out my review by saying all the women behind the desk and the younger woman who did my red light therapy/knee decompression/knee massage and stretching are amazing! These ladies really made me feel welcome and cared for. That being said, the younger gentleman who gave me my exam and my X-rays did not make me feel that way. He was nice at first, but quickly turned in to a salesman that was being deceptive and rude. During my first day there I got my exam/X-rays. He was nice and reassuring that he knew what the problem was and would discuss it with me on my next visit. He insisted that I bring my wife and I played along and said I would. The day of my appointment my wife didn't want to come and I don't blame her, she would have been waiting for me all by herself. My second visit I was excited for treatment and for him to discuss the findings with me. I am an avid runner and have a 50k race coming up in October, plus I work out of town a lot, so I don't have a lot of time off. My second visit started out with the treatments I mentioned above from one of the younger female staff. She did amazing! After the treatments the younger man asks me to meet him in the back to discuss his findings. I'm waiting for about ten minutes in the back room by myself and I'm excited to hear what he has to say. He finally comes in and informs me that he can not give me my results because my wife did not show up to MY appointment. Confused and frustrated I scheduled an appointment a few days later and left. A couple days later I receive a text message saying my confirmed appointment is at 9:45pm. I knew they were closed and I didn't respond that day. I responded to their message a couple days later saying I was confused and disappointed with the way I was treated. I asked for an email or text message with the findings of my knee. They refunded my money and are withholding my findings from me. This is very frustrating and saddening to me. I was so excited for my treatments with them and trusted every word the young salesman told me. Now I am scheduled to work out of town until November and the only local place I trusted, stabbed me in the back. I which I could give you zero stars but I can't. "Dr" Hoon Lim doesn't care about his patients, all he cares its about money, please don't waste your time and your money at this place. I went in due to a "free" seminar on Neuropathy. Turns out its an old worker's comp injury and I am eligible. For some reason he said he does not do worker's comp but had some other program that would "help" me. SOME HELP! They, Hoon Lim and some offshore finance company he transferred this to, expect that I am over $13,000 in debt for 5 visits and the heating boot. I first believed it was some sort of medical insurance but ended up I got "sold" a package for $13,000. When I realized the true value of this and tried to discontinue he wanted to charge me over $6,000 for a heating type boot and some other gadgets. I looked those up on Amazon and they sell for $129.00. SOME MARK UP! In a visit that resembled a high pressure sales pitch, he offered to reduce the charges to $7,000. I would not return to Dr. Lim. I went to him based on a referral and adjustment. What a scam! In only 6 weeks he was on his third set of X-rays. His decompression table was making my hip pain unbearable and I couldn't walk afterwards. It's not for everyone. He then told me that his services wouldn't work until I lost weight. I'm maybe 20 lbs overweight. This was never mentioned prior nor was I ever weighed. He wanted me to set up an appt with his son who specializes in weight loss! He showed a temper more than once and just has a bully like way of pushing services. His staff goes along with it. Worse than a used car salesman. I went in for an adjustment. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Apparently the first meeting is a consultation and the second meeting is supposed to be an adjustment. They did not tell me that. ( I am on a tight schedule at work and have a hard time taking off). I felt like their goal was to get me on a regular schedule. Dr. Lim is the best. The negative comments are just people who easily complain for a lot of things in life and don't understand the blessing of what chiropractic care can do. Dr. Lim knows what he is doing and you have to trust him and the process. Most chiropractors these days treat your body like it's a bowl of rice crispy(snap, crackle and pop) but Dr Lim will make your visit like a rice crispy treat. The first day he educated me about my body. He did x-rays to see how my spine is now, did a minor adjustment and then from there he determined the best course of action so we can proceed to the best chiropractic care and to improve my daily life style. I suffer from lower back pain and knee problems from the Army. The VA would just give me pills for my pain but it never works. When I trusted my care with Dr Lim I haven't used a pain pill since then. I highly recommend him for your chiropractic care. Dr. Hoon and Dr. Mike are phenomenal!! My wife and I are working with them for only 4 weeks and we are already having great results. My wife has been suffering from chronic headaches and neck pain for so long that got used to the painful routine. I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews for Dr. Lim when my experience here for over 3 months was nothing but positive. Dr. Lim is great at what he does and is excellent for corrective care after car accidents. He dealt with my lawyer who dealt with my insurance and I never once had to shell out a nickel since I was rear ended while at a complete stop at a red light. Whip lash is no joke and Dr. Lim is amazing with correcting neck injuries. He was my introduction to chiropractic care and I'm very thankful I found him. I highly recommend Dr. Lim and team - what an amazing group of professionals for chiropractic care, health, and well being. I've been suffering from pain for many years and poor health more recently. I didn't realize the extent of my challenges until getting such tremendous relief from Dr. Lim and Dr. Mike's care in a relatively short timeframe. I could not fully turn my head left or right and was in constant pain. My arms were going numb and I was having issues with my breathing, my kidneys, liver, and stomach. This healthcare team evaluated my health holistically -- internally (health and nutrition) and structurally (spine and skeleton) and provide informative and applicable education so I can take steps to help my own health IN ADDITION to their superb care. I wasn't impressed with my visit to Dr. Lim's establishment. I had a groupon to allow an adjustment and an X-ray for 19 bucks which seemed like a good deal and I figured why not? I'd been looking for a new chiropractor and the place seemed nice. Well, when I got there I found out that even though my groupon WAS valid, the adjustment and the X-rays don't happen on the same day which I thought was really weird. I have an extremely hectic schedule and honestly when I came in I was excited about the prospect of getting X-rays and an adjustment but I was told after X-rays to come back on Monday with an appointment though he was courteous about it. He gave me a really...odd speech about the exclusivity of his clients, continually asking me how "Dedicated" I was to make any condition I had better. On a scale from 1-10 how much did I WANT to be better. It was really weird but I see NOW why he was asking it. He asked it more than once but fast forward to Monday I was shown into his office and he discussed what the problem was and how he intended to correct it. He again asked me on a scale from 1-10 how much I WANTED to be better which at this point was getting to be a little ridiculous but I answered 10 because why not? I was feeling cheeky. So he left the room and came back with a payment plan sheet, he had three payment plans for me. He told me he could charge me 1300 up front and that would be a discount for 20 sessions, 700 dollars up front with another 700 in 30 days or I could apply for credit with a medical loan agency that gives medical credit cards and pay 90 dollars a month over 18 months. WHAT? I mean, he just kinda' threw that all on me, and when I expressed discomfort at the idea of so much money upfront he almost became a salesman and was insinuating I wasn't REALLY dedicated to my care if I didn't plunk down the cash. When I said I didn't want to open up a line of credit either (Because he kept citing that 90 dollar over 18 month plan) He became aggressive and annoyed with me. When I told him I was just going to leave he then mentioned I could pay per visit at 65 dollars a visit. Convenient. Either way, he still owed me an adjustment as per my groupon and it was a very violent adjustment. My neck still hurts the day after though to be fair I did ask for a deep tissue adjustment so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for that one. Either way, I would not return to Dr. Lim's establishment. read more

Dr. Lim cares about his patients and is quite knowledgeable about the structural and nervous system aspects. His chiropractic specialties are different than I've had in the past, and I am concurrently seeing a KST chiropractor (Koren Specific Technique) for other things, but what Lim is helping me with is invaluable regarding my scoliosis, not so much to completely eliminate it, but to help my curvature not debilitate me later on and help my neck not bear so much of the weight of my body. He is helping me by means of spinal decompression. read more

Dr. Hoon Lim is terrible!!! I told him specifically that I was not interested in the typical bone cracking/popping and he assured me he would not do that. However, in my very first appointment with him, he cracked my back and my back is still aching to this day. He does NOT LISTEN to the concerns of his patients, he gets EXTREMELY pissy when you question his technique, and he will HURT YOU physically. After listening to a presentation given by Dr. Lim and his offer for a free x-ray and consultation, my wife and I visited Dr. Lim. At our consultation, he was quite pleasant and asked what our main concerns/problems were and we told him. He then took two X-rays [neck and spine] for each of us and we made a second complimentary appointment so that he could review and explain the results to us. At this next meeting he showed us the x-rays and found deviations for both of us in neck and spine which required adjustment. He never addressed our main concerns/problems. Then he set up a treatment plan for each of us which would cost about $1700.00. It would be less if we paid all up front. Needless to say we did not pursue his course of treatment. read more

I made an appt. Which i thought i would get adjusted also but then i was told i am only getting x ray and to come back for the reading. I gave my insurance which is UHC PPO which they said they don't accept it because they have to verify 1st with my insurance company if i am covered and i was ask to pay upfront which i did. Came back for result reading was told i have scoliosis that was bad and needed 12 or more treatment and he guarantee it will fix the issue. I say lets do it. I told him i have insurance which the doc said they dont accept insurance. He came out and came back and have folders in hand and started a sales talk. Dr. Lim and Dr. Mike are the absolute best! When I came to their office 1.5 years ago I was in severe pain. I had no idea that the medications I was taking to "mask" the pain was actually making things worse. Dr. Mike is extremely knowledgeable in functional medicine, and helped me eliminate all medications and almost all of my pain! BEWARE! Dr Lim is a high pressure sales person. I went to him with severe scoliosis and was pressured into agreeing to over $8000 in treatments which included a weight loss program. He told me if I didn't lose at least 1 pound a day I would be in a wheel chair even though I was only 30 pounds overweight. He became very aggressive by getting in my face and put his hands on me telling me I must stop eating. He harassed me by texting and calling me. I am trying to get reimbursed for half of the money I spent after I stopped treatment. Do not be fooled by his high pressure sales pitch. I've been to countless doctors over the years for a chronic neck injury, Dr. Lim is this the only doctor that has been able to help. TERRIBLE! I went to him because I purchased a groupon. I had back pain and needed an adjustment. The Groupon I paid for was an adjustment. However when I arrived to my appointment, he did a sales job, a bait and switch said I would have to come back for my adjustment. I explained that is not what the groupon said, he was very UNHELPFUL. He is interested in a sales job. Not adjusting people's backs. Dr Hoon Lim Quack Chiropractor Whatever you do please do not go to Dr. Hoon Lim on Mission in Escondido. The first thing he does no matter what your condition is to say he can make you better but it will take many visits and over$5000. I had some mild back pain from working in the yard so I seen his ad he puts in the NCT every week. My first visit I walked in and after 5 sessions and 4 days including Spinal decompression I told them to stop and I left barely able to walk out the door. I got some money back but for 5 sessions it still cost me over $1200. This month I will be having surgery on my back and in my opinion this Hoon Lim guy really screwed me up. I am still considering a law suit to help get this so called chiropractor shut down. By the way when he does a neck adjustment it is very violent and painful and he told me he is so good he is the only chiropractor that does this kind of adjustment. Thank god for that. Also he advertises a free dinner and he explains what he does. Remember if it is free something smells. Just per chance my daughter-in-law was having some back pain and she was telling me about this chiropractor in Escondido on Mission. It turns out she did go to the Hoon Lim guy and he told her the same thing he can fix her but many sessions and over $5000. She was smart enough to leave after one so called adjustment. Just a side bit of information he prays on the elderly. Most of the people I seen in the short time I was at his office were old people just looking for help. I got a groupon for the x-rays and two adjustments to Dr. Lim Chiropractic. Then i opened yelp page and saw only reviews with one star. I was doubting if i should go there or get a refund. i was lucky that i didn't change my mind. due my injuries i have to maintain my body pretty often. Also i travel a lot it is always hard to find very good specialist at a new place. I had a great chiropractor in NYC, my expectations from San Diego clinics were high. I visited several places. i felt like they were only trying to schedule next appointment and charge more money. adjustment wasn't good at all. When i came to Dr. Lim Chiropractic they made a full check up on me and gave me detailed explanation about my case. i got deep understanding about different processes in my body. First adjustment released my headache and pain. There wasn't any doubts anymore i found my place. Dr. Lim is professional, knowledgeable, intelligent he is also has his way to help people to fight diabetes and loose weight. Dr. PJ has beautiful energy, wonderful sense of every muscle in the body and individual way to every patient. not just adjustment but complex work with all tight muscles brings great results. my posture is getting straighter every session. I had the wind knocked right out of me when i tripped over one on their push cart handle that had a missing screw that held it upright and landed on my knee with the handle to my stomach. Dr. Lim is fantastic! I have been going to him for several years. When I first began treatments, I could not even bend over. I was in pain most of the time and could hardly function. Because of his treatments, I am rarely in any pain. When I pull a muscle in my back, all I need to do is see Dr. Lim for an adjustment, problem solved! I am able to bend over and touch my toes with no discomfort. I am also able to stand for long periods of time, without pain, which is important, because I am a teacher. I totally agree with the above reviewer. I moved to Escondido from LA and have only had great chiropractors in the past. I saw an add in the newspaper and decided to make an appointment. After signing me up for 30 visits and having to prepay $3100! I think this guy should lose his license. He said if I pay cash all visits were covered and then a few months later had a notice from my insurance co that he billed them also! I have contacted the state board and am waiting to hear from them. In the meantime I have found a great chiropractor near my home. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! read more
