This was booked through ClassPass. I booked a Thai massage. Once I arrived, I was told a message was sent asking me to dress in shorts or exercise suitable clothing . I didn't not see the message. Since I was traveling, I didn't have a chance to change clothing because my hotel room wasn't available. After entering, I was asked to remove my shoes. I had on a long maxi dress, so I came out in my bra and underwear. I could tell it wasn't ideal and she was not pleased, but that was the best I could do. The session took place on the floor. It involved stretching. I suffer from calcification in my shoulders, and one shoulder was particularly painful, so that made things awkward too. I was advised to take care of my weight and health. My attire definitely made it more difficult to do some of the stretches. She tried to cover my private area in order to do the stretches, but that wasn't enough. Overall, it felt awkward. I was very much self conscious and felt inadequate. read more

I am based in New York but wanted to take a quick class on holiday in Miami. I was so impressed with Synergy yoga and wish it existed near me. I took the Hatha class with Felipe. The studio is very nicely done with water and they were kind enough to give me a complimentary mat for my first class. Felipe's class is exactly what I want from yoga. It's a lot of stretching and spending time in the poses. His aura is very calming. He also does a lot of hands on adjustments and I felt stretches that I never felt before. We also had a sound bath at the end of class that I really enjoyed. That in itself is of high value at other studios. I've paid $45 just for a sound bath and it was included here in the class. I've been wanting to visit this studio for a while and finally made it to try the slow and restore class with Kathy. This is exactly what I needed after a busy and active week. The class was super relaxing, Kathy was great at giving different options to modify depending on desired effort. The class was supposed to be 75 mins. but the instructor asked if it was OK to finish 10-15 mins. after so she could do some sound healing. Prompts were available including belts, cushions, blankets and blocks. Highly recommend this class if you are looking for a restorative option. The studio is located on the second floor, they have a few rooms but all seem to be quite small. The ambience is nice with relaxing music and incense. I ended up parking on the street but realized that they do have a few spots on the back, not sure exactly how many but will try next time. This review is LONG overdue. I've been coming to this studio for 3+ years now and when I say this place has been instrumental in my health journey I mean it. I live in NYC but every time I visit Miami it's pretty much for Synergy. From the first sound bath meditation I've ever done to all the progress I've been able to make in my yoga practice, I owe it all to this fabulous studio and the wonderful instructors that work here. This is truly a place of peace, healing, and non-judgmental practice. They offer everything from weekly sound baths to yoga of all levels to reiki and massages to monthly full moon circles held at the beach. This center provides way more than just Yoga and I think many know because it's the oldest and first Yoga studio in Miami Beach. So instead of Yoga I had a Deep-tissue Massage here and I have to say that it was the best, I had many deep-tissue massages but non came close to what Synergy (Shakti) provided, I felt it for days and was able to slowly hit the gym again, don't know if that was a good thing to do, but it felt good. :) Definitely a recommendation, will go back again for a Thai or Swedish massage. This studio has a bohemian design vibe with friendly customer service. I took a Hatha yoga class with Shakti Reyna. The feeling in this class welcomed and encouraged all levels. I felt so cared for especially at the end of class when Shakti noticed I was cold and went out of her way to find a blanket from the closet to cover me with. Synergy Yoga is a cozy boutique yoga studio located mere blocks from where I live and (shame on me) I didn't even know this place existed until a few months ago! My first experience was a great one. I went in for a Thai massage and Reiki healing session. During Covid and having gone thru some recent [personal issues], both my sessions were extremely relaxing and cathartic. Victoria (the owner) spent time after to talk one on one and get to know me a bit which felt authentic and very refreshing. I've since attended a chakra balancing session and many, many yoga classes here. I've also recently become a member. The yoga instructors are spectacular! Kristina, Nicole, Shakti, Victoria, Sri, Patricia, Andrea.....you seriously can't go wrong with any of the classes- or the instructors. The classes are small and intimate. And the instructors take the time to talk to you, make asana adjustments when you need them (with your permission of course), and they even take the time to chat with you after class. After a few months I already feel at home every time I walk through the door. I cannot speak highly enough of Synergy Yoga. It is, in my opinion, the best yoga studio in south beach, if not all of Miami ;) read more

I've been doing yoga at this studio for many years now, I can't believe I didn't take the time to write this review yet! Oh well, better late than never! I love how knowledgeable and caring the instructors are, especially Victoria! There are many yoga studios in Miami but most instructors don't really know what they are doing (or don't really care?) and that's extremely dangerous. Fortunately this is not the case there! The vibe there is soooo soothing and relaxing plus there is free parking in the vicinity which is very rare for South Beach! The location is great, you can go get a smoothie or full meal at whole foods after your work out and the studio is super spacious and well equipped. Every now and then they host cool meditation, Indian musical events amongst other cool "transcendental" stuff! Thank you Victoria for making me strong inside and out! Namaste!! read more

Edit: The owner's reply denying and minimizing my pain clearly illustrates my complaint. That yoga move, and many other poses, are painful to someone with weak neck flexors. She rudely singled me out, over and over again, and rolled her eyes when I told her I couldn't do the eight points. The teachers of the classes are awesome but I am ignoring the owners shameless plug for reiki and all other "suggestions" Original Post: The teachers are awesome but the owner is *exceptionally* mean and insensitive towards people with #chronicpain, especially students with #CervicalDystonia The owner had the nerve to single me out at "Zenrise Yoga" (ha!) and rudely attempted to pressure me into a pose that hurts my neck. She rolled her eyes when I refused. The only reason why I'm in yoga is to recover from a 13 year battle with spasmodic torticollis!! This was not the owner's first interruption. She also insisted that I stop my own relaxing practice to replace my yoga mat with her own mat (why? This is not normal) After she had the nerve to interrupt me a *third time* and I just left. If you're looking for yoga classes in Miami Beach to relieve chronic pain or relax, Synergy yoga on Alton Rd is not the place for you! read more

I came to this yoga studio because my father owned this building and office for nearly 15 years. He passed away a couple of years ago, and I was elated to be able to practice yoga in a place I grew up in for so many years. I came in September for my first time and had a long nice conversation with the girl at the front desk. I told her about my connection to the space and how I live in California, dreaming of coming here. I decided to purchase a class pack because I was sure I would come back next time I was in town. Flash forward to today, I found myself in Miami once again and of course came to synergy with excitement. A (different) front desk lady said there was nothing under my account, probably because the classes **expired. Very sad, I realized the lady who I had a very long conversation with in September sold these to me without communicating an expiration on the classes. I come back 2x a year so of course they would expire while I am away. I asked if she could somehow look past the expiration for 1 class or apply my $55 to a drop in for today. She very rudely told me that I have to support yoga, that I'm asking for "free things", and the reason they expire is to form a relationship with the instructors. I do support yoga! (That's why I'm there) I don't want free things! (That's why I bought a class pack) and I do want to form relationship! (That's why I came back here). It is the principle of being sold classes that expire when it wasn't communicated to a very loyal customer. I asked if she could ask the owners or email someone to see if it was OK. She gave me reasons why she would not. Finally, she angrily resigned to offer me the class as a free "guest" of hers, I guess because she didn't want to actually ask if my situation was OK...I smiled and thanked her, ready to look past the ordeal for a nice yoga session. Then, I told her I would need to rent a mat to which she said "usually it's 2 dollars but since you don't have funds, I don't know if you want it." The NERVE on this woman. If it were anywhere else, I would have walked away right then. To clear the obviously tense air, i told her this place is very special to me. she replied "if it's so special why don't you want to pay." Unfortunately, they just lost my business forever by not showing simple, loving kindness to a girl who grew up in their yoga studio. Also their mats smell. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for Sri's vinyasa class last Wednesday and absolutely LOVED our experience here. The front desk woman was so kind and helpful, offering complimentary cookies and tea while we waited for class to start. The room we practiced in was gorgeous with lots of natural light. Sri had such a wonderful presence and thoughtful sequence. His cueing was clear and beautifully paced. The music was lovely and went really well with his class. He offered hands on assists and I appreciated that he checked if anyone was not interested or was dealing with an injury. He also came around during savasana and gave mini sound baths to everyone. He clearly loves and is devoted to the practice. If I lived in the area I would come back for his vinyasa class and other classes. read more

Suresh taught the most perfect renewing and restorative class. I hadn't practiced for a couple of months & he really brought me back to my practice & I'm still feeling the caring & thoughtful energy he emanated throughout the class! I most appreciated his effective sequencing - he included many asana as with as banda and pranayam breathing, And the order everything went in was so perfect for my body, ending with a nice long Supta Padangusthasana that I really needed, removing the tension from the lower back and the whole body. And we ended with a nice long shavasana where he did a special sound alignment on each of us. It's a cute little place and the people were nice BUT, I came in from out of town, rented a mat from them and not only was it weirdly gross--it stayed with me literally for weeks afterward as it left me with an infection that is very difficult to get rid of. bottom line--i'll never use a public yoga mat again though in 10 years of doing yoga all over the world--this is the only place that i've had a problem--but it was such a bad experience i may never use a mat while traveling again. read more

It's unfortunate, but my favorite yoga experience happens to be a 5 hour plane ride across the U.S. 1. The yoga poses were challenging, so you definitely will get your workout 2. The instructors female and male (both very gorgeous by the way with the sexiest accents) were so helpful. It's sort of an ego buster to think you have poses down, only to be corrected several times...but get over it and you'll appreciate the 1:1 attention each person in the class gets. 3. This studio really did hone in on the "mind" and "spirit" part of "mind, body, & spirit". Prior to this, yoga truly was about a good workout and perhaps a little meditating, but for once..I was taken to a different place that felt safe. Hard to explain, but it was a very worthwhile experience. As someone mentioned, they do have the 3 for $45 for out-of-towners, and you could just arrive prior to class beginning and get in. read more

Was in town for a wedding and needed to make sure I got my yoga fix....... I'm always a little leery of new studios/new teachers as I've had some pretty terrible experiences......but Synergy was fantastic! Super close to where I was staying which is a huge plus........adorable studio tucked away on a quiet little street.....helpful and friendly front desk.....they do a 3 class pass deal for $40 which is great if you're visiting from out of town like me & don't want to invest in the 5 class pass. Teachers were knowledgeable, helpful and had a really nice creative flow........(no warrior 2, reverse warrior, side angle, vinyasa please and thank you very much).....with poses for every level in the class.....I had Victoria and Mateo.....both were excellent! Didn't think I would be on here so quickly writing an update to my review but here I am. Had a couple of great classes at this studio and was really looking forward to going back Walked over for a 5pm class on christmas eve after checking the schedule to make sure they were open. The door was locked and the lights off with a note on the day saying they were only going to beclosed on the 25th- I was still optimistic so hung around and waited with several others until 5:10pm and left very disappointed. Leaving town in the am so losing the $$ on that pass. Not sure why you would not cancel the class on the website or put a note on the door that you were closing early. read more

There's no better way to get to know a neighborhood than to try out a local yoga studio. Walking down Espanola Way, I loved how Synergy is tucked into the scenery, like a little escape from the restaurant hosts luring you in for a big meal. Totally hippie-dippy with healing musical accompaniment, the vinyasa class with Katie blissed me out more than my lazy afternoon poolside. The flow was very traditional, but long holds made my muscles burn and lots of chaturangas got my heart rate up. I love a long savasana (who doesn't) and this one was probably the longest I've ever experienced (yes, I fell asleep). No need to arrive very early, as this studio is totally laid back and didn't seem to fill up very much, but maybe it was just the time I went. The room is hot, but just naturally hot--no additional space heaters or anything like that. I would definitely come back here, mainly for the vibe of the whole place. A lot of yoga studios try to achieve this type of relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, but Synergy really embodies it without even trying. read more

FYI: The map 'pin' location is wrong but the address is correct, Alton road! Best yoga out of town experience we've ever had. Very small studio with only a few people makes for a tight yoga spot for the morning but didn't matter. Cozy became comfortable though in time. Super cool yoga experience because Sabrine invited one of the girls in to play the harmonium. Chanting and her singing to start gets you right into the groove. Power yoga whooped our butts and was exactly what we needed for the rest of our Miami trip. I highly recommend this studio. We will be back. Oh and there was an essential oils class going on in the other studio, so the calming smell drifting into our room was perfect for yoga. Love this place. read more

LIke a few other reviewers- I dropped in while in Miami for the week. (6pm Vinyasa with Mateo) It is super simple to show up... sign a quick waiver, $18 drop in fee, set up mat... (or rent if you need to) Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Not sure if it is just a certain time in their teacher training, but my class benefited from 3 assistants... so everyone got plenty of help / feedback if they wanted. Overall- I thought the energy was great. The studio we were in is L shaped, which surprisingly was kind of nice, it made it seem a little more intimate, All in all, a very satisfying practice. Temp was warm but not hot Flow had good tempo with some challenging modifications available, but not intimidating Class full but not over crowded Good music and good queuing and presence by mateo. I started with 5 stars but adjusted to 4 when I remembered that it is a bit congested at the desk, and all the doorways, awkward bike parking out front, and I have no idea where you would easily park if you came by car. No cubbies or good place for purse / wallet, but these are pretty minor, and if you are in the right mind set, will not affect a wonderful practice Location is right on Espanola way (quaint / near beach) Even with the sign, it is a little hard to spot- slightly off the main sidewalk, and there are tables from a brazilian restaurant that somewhat conceal the access way.
