He repeatedly implied I didn't understand what I was asking for, openly criticized me for discussing the agreement with my fiancée, and claimed that no competent attorney would agree to our timeline. That turned out to be completely untrue. Both my fiancée's attorney and the attorney I ultimately hired were not only comfortable with the timeline, but also took a far more collaborative and respectful approach -- encouraging open dialogue about our shared goals. David ultimately quit -- but not before sending a series of passive-aggressive emails and repeatedly undermining my judgment.
