My usual routine is to go right at opening and beat the larger crowds, but this year I went in the evening on Saturday. Some streets had WAAYYYY more congestion than others and it was hard to move -- made even more difficult by the occasional person who had obviously been visiting the beer tent and had trouble walking straight. That aside, most lines moved pretty quickly, and was still able to get like 7-10 samples in the hour or so I was there. Standouts for me this year were the mango cheesecake loompya at Oompa Loompyas and the crab rangoon at Vietnamese Noodle House, but there were lots of tasty things. This festival is always a great way to check out brand new businesses making their debut in the CNY food scene, along with hitting up an old favorite or two.

Chen bringing in authentic chinese street food was also a huge hit for my group, as we are all foodies loving to try other cultural foods. There are a lot of informative and interactive areas, including exhibits on memory, energy, plate tectonics, Earth science, the geodynamo, chip chemistry, and the Micron memory megafab. I especially liked that the museum had enough depth for adults to actually learn something, while still being very kid-friendly with hands-on displays and play areas for younger children. My only small gripe is that a few of the exhibits and interactive devices felt older or worn, and some were not fully functional during our visit. Given the age of the museum and how much hands-on use these exhibits probably get from younger visitors, it is understandable. Hopefully they continue repairing and refreshing them, because the museum itself is definitely worth supporting and revisiting. The building itself is also pretty cool, with a historic exterior and a spacious multi-level layout inside. Overall, this is a great educational stop for families, kids, and adults who enjoy science, technology, and learning something new. Highly recommended.

Last time my daughter was having a typical toddler meltdown because we had to leave (they close at 1pm) and one of the employees suggested she take a book from the shelf with her to help the transition of leaving. They are both sort of walkable sandwiches (wrapped in foil) but we did stop to stand and eat them. We love BBQ and we were happy with the taste and the smoke of both. I was afraid the bacon bomb was going to be too much but it wasn't. It was delicious. Pulled pork wasn't too soggy that the bun was falling apart but not dry. The sauce was good and happy we went their instead of Dinosaur BBQ. Also served quick considering it was BBQ and Saturday. WE WOULD GET BOTH AGAIN! Disappointed I didn't take a photo.
