Nestled on a square of high-class, high-priced restaurants geared towards tourists in the Jewish Kazmierez district, Szara was a lovely and tasty meal. The baked goat cheese appetizer offered unexpected combos (beets, pickled onions), but the flavor combination and quality blew us away. For a soup, the creamed Jerusalem Artichoke was spectacular, all subtle and tasty and something I've never had outside of Kraków. The plank steak entree was well prepared, but pretty unexceptional--very much what I could get anywhere at home in the States.
With great house wines and a full bar I wanted it to be the most adorable place ever, but unfortunately it's ambiance left something to be desired -- a little too industrial to really capture my attention, especially after some of the other restaurants we peeked into on the square with live music. It was fine food, but how still I'm not sure I would go again if I had it to do over. read more
