I purchased a few cords of eucalyptus wood for my fireplace and found out later I didn't receive what I paid for. So upsetting! If any of you still wish to do business with this place, (I highly recommend you don't) make them count/measure in your presence, ALL the amount of firewood you receive before purchase. A cord of wood typically measures 128 Cubic Ft i.e. 8ftW by 4ftH by 4ftL. Because more than likely they'll sell you short and hoping you won't notice. Just plan on not getting what you paid for. The first time I bought a cord and had it delivered, it was a quarter cord short. (How do you miss a quarter cord?) They eventually brought the other quarter cord after I had to call about them missing the initial make-up delivery. Shouldn't they be the one's calling? This latest time I specifically asked that they bring a full cord (half pine/half white oak) and not short me this time...and it was still short!. If you're a professional and someone asks you specifically to bring a full cord, wouldn't you check? Nope! Short again. And they shorted me on the more expensive white oak. So, the initial positive review was based on picking it up and making sure I was getting what I paid for. (If you don't know what a cord is, good luck, because you aren't likely to get what you paid for, and if you do and are having it delivered, plan on unnecessary headaches to get a make-up delivery.) read more

I had been going to homestead firewood in Calimesa for 10+ years until they retired. Honest guys who had pre built racks pre filled with wood by the 1/8th, 1/4, 1/2 cord. No bickering on what you were buying. They always had friendly staff ready to load. Contrast that to T&C. This was my fourth experience and same shady operation. I know what a 1/4 cord looks like in the back of my truck and and have been apprehensive about getting a fair shake. So today was my 1st purchase of the year. Same story, the worker points you to a half hazard pike of wood and then you get the opportunity to help load. When we were done, I felt more pleased that I might have been close to getting my money's worth. But just as the owner walked over to break my cash, he abruptly starts lecturing he worker about "quit effing up" and says I have way to much wood. I felt horrible for the guy as I was involved in the load. I asked the owner how much wood was there and he says well over 3/8 cord. I offer to pay the difference and he snatches another $25 from my change. As I turn I see him ripping into the young guy again, finger in face. So I go home and arrange the wood square in my truck, then measure it in cubic inches 22x62x40" = 54,560. I convert this to cubic feet 31.6 I look up a stacked cord of wood on Wikipedia 128 cubic feet. This tells me I received .24 cords of wood but paid for 3/8 and if the owner had his way, I would have gotten much less. Feel sorry for the worker involved. This guy's been in business a long time. How did he manage that or did he just lose his mind recently and start treating people like dirt? These guys are thieves w) shitty tude. I was getting wood from them for 3+ years and I always thought maybe I'm just figuring my wood wrong (yeah right?) but these guys have been shorting me on a cord every year and this year they shorted me 3/8 of a cord. I called him on it right away and he goes no that's a cord, and I said, you've got maybe half a cord plus here. So I stacked my wood after he left and called him immediately after having pictures to prove how short we were. One rack still empty and all three other racks still three rows short each or about 126 pieces of wood short in addition to the empty rack that we didn't have enough wood to fill. The 4 racks total filled to 4 ft each equals one legal cord. If somebody drops you off a pile of wood in a 4x4x8 truck and calls that a cord (common) then you're short about a quarter to 3/8 of a cord and getting ripped off. It's time to stop these people from ripping everybody off year after year. After bitching and moaning for 10 minutes how everyone's complaining to him, (like I care) I got him finally to agree to complete our transaction and bring me the remaining wood that I already paid for. Then I had to listen a few more minutes about how people on Facebook were complaining about him as well, complaining about him ripping them off. On Facebook they're calling him out on being a thief and then he says he's not going to bring my wood. So here is yet another act of thievery. Stay away from pieces of s*** people like this. Do not deserve to stay in business, honest people deserve the business. Dishonest people make me sick! They should have been shut down years ago. If you think you they'll treat you different it's just a matter of time once you figure out you're not getting the would you pay for and you call them out on it then you can listen to him bitching and moan and scream how EVERYBODY ELSE is the problem. Sad. Pretty stupid business operators. It sounds like he's trashing his business right now. So he'd rather lose many customers instead of just one, me, by inspiring me to come out and warn others. If he somehow comes through and corrects the LEGAL trespass that he's done against me, I might consider changing this review. Fed up! Returned my call for firewood promptly and we set up a day and time for delivery. They came right on time!

I ordered 2 cords of wood, 1 mixed hardwood and 1/2 each of Walnut and Eucalyptus. When finished stacking, what I received measures slightly less than 1.5 cords (75% of what I ordered and paid for). I called Tim to let him know, thinking perhaps someone had made an error and missed one of the half cords when loading. Instead he tried to give me some bs about smaller length pieces not coming in a full cord because his cost of labor has gone up. This is information that should have been conveyed to me at the time of ordering. When I said as much, he said "most people know this" and then hung up on me. Tim, what I know is that the legally recognized measurement of a cord is 128 cubic feet and I paid you the cost you quoted me for 2 full cords. I have a receipt from you showing that I ordered and paid for 2 full cords. If what you are selling is not a full cord then you need to be clear on that because otherwise what you are doing is defrauding people. I offered you an opportunity to fix your mistake, but you chose to hang up on and ignore me, so I will be contacting the Bureau of Weights and Measures tomorrow. I see here in other reviews that I'm not the only one you shorted or rudely hung up on. What you are doing is shameful, dishonest and illegal. Edited to respond: As I said before, at no point was I ever told that I would be getting less than full cords. If this is your practice, then it is also 100% your responsibility to convey that information to your customers. Furthermore, the math still ain't mathin', as they say. If the full cord spans 24 ft and the wood stove cut "cord" measures 20 ft, I still should have received 83% of the full 256 cubic feet (2 cords) or approximately 212 cubic feet. What I received was approximately 175-180, so even by your redefined idea of a cord, you still shorted me by at least 32 cubic feet. And it's also a full 76-81 cubic feet less than I was expecting and paid you for. That's completely unacceptable. If your labor costs are up then that is something you factor into your pricing, not something you make up for by shorting people on what they paid for. I ordered 2 cords because that is how much I need to heat my home in the winter. The wood stove is my only heat source and now I won't have enough to make it through. read more

Had a great conversation with Tim when I first called in, set up a day and time for delivery, gave me the best price I could find from Mountain Center to Big Bear, was happy to cut the wood to our needed size, and gave a military service discount on top of it all. I can not give them any rating because it would be a negative 25 but I had to do 1 to post my thoughts. I don't know how to word this review. This company one that I warn people to stay away from ever using them. This morning we called and asked for a cord of wood to be delivered this was a $500 dollar sale. We were told that they would be delivering it today between 2-4. Needless to say no one ever came or called. A month ago we also tried to have this company deliver wood to us. That time we were told that it was coming in the evening sometime, we never heard from the man to confirm that he was coming. So we assumed he wasn't going to deliver the wood. Again a $400 dollar sale. Today I felt we should give them another chance because things happen and he looked like he really needed the money. So I stayed home all afternoon waiting and he never showed or called. When my husband got home at 4:30 he called and asked if he was still coming, his reply was "He said we wasted his time last time and wasn't coming to deliver to us ever again" and hung up on us. The reason for the first incident was miss communication and not confirming. The issue today he just flat out lied and said he was coming when he had no intention of doing so. Such a sad way to run a business, so beware if you use his services because your time and business means nothing to him. From what I saw at his establishment he needed the money too! read more

The wood was good but the delivery was 1/2 cord short on a 1 1/2 cord order. Additionally, the pieces were not the length as agreed. The length was 60% of the ordered length. He does not appear to be willing to adjust the discrepancy. We would not recommend purchasing from this seller. read more
