Complete re-roof on my home in Ocean Park Wa. Including tear off & replace of rotten OSB with plywood sheathing, 1,700sq ft. Michael's quote was by far the lowest I received. One quote from a local contractor in Ocean Park was over $7,000 more! and the nearest quote was 2K more so being weary I stood outside for two days and watched closely every step of the process, Everything was done top notch right down to the bituminous ice & water shield. Michael's crew showed up ON TIME @ 8:00am sharp in Ocean Park from Longview so they had to be loaded & ready to go @ 6:00am. After checking in with me & my wife the crew covered up the few plants and bushes around the house then the whole gang including the boss attacked our old roof. The weather the first day was typical misty drizzle so they worked across the roof with a huge tarp but they really didn't need it because they worked a system where as the old sheathing was removed the next guy checked for nails & debris then a few guys came right behind to nail down the new exterior plywood to the trusses. That night all the new plywood sheathing was down with asphalt paper on top so it could have rained and all would have been high & dry. Day two the first of the guys arrived early again with the 30 year architectural roofing. They started hauling the packs up on the roof and placing them. By 10:00am everyone either was swinging a hammer trimming shingles or cutting in vents. Fortunately the July sun was out the second day so the shingles were flexible & easy to work with and most important so they would lay down nicely & seal. They were totally done with the truck loaded up for the dump by 4:00pm. I'm not sure what the code requirements are inland here in Kelso but on the coast they require an adhesive backed asphalt ice & water barrier be installed around the entire perimeter of the roof and that was done as well. Every three tab was nailed down by hand and plenty of vents were installed as poor ventilation was the root cause of the premature failure of the original roof system. Unfortunately due to a injury I can't do high work anymore but I'm confident the work done by Michael and his crew was done with the same attention to detail that I would have done and a whole lot faster! I waited several months to post this review because the work was done last summer and I now can say with certanty after months of heavy coastal wind and rain the job was done perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I've written one paragraph reviews for purchased products on Amazon & Ebay but never felt compelled to expend the effort to write a detailed account like this. I would have been satisfied with this level of workmanship from any of the contractors I selected but to get an outstanding roof at a budget price was so totally unexpected I felt I needed to let it be known. read more

Left nails in driveway, roofing nails are like tacs so when you run over them, they are going in your tire. The workers had some of the worst attitudes imaginable, one even asked "if I had a problem, not knowing I was the customer." I would pay the extra couple hundred and go with a true roofer with quality employees. You get what you pay for, don't pay to do your roof twice. read more

I would have like to give T & G Roofing 5 stars as they did a great job on the roof replacement. Their price beat all other roofers that were recommended by others. One contractor's labor cost was almost as much as we paid for the whole job. The roof looks great and Michael and his crew are the best. When I found two issues that was left after the job was completed, Michael was quick to get them taken care of. However, when they replaced two panels of my deck roof that got broken when the stripped the roof. They did repair the damage at no extra cost but they used too short of screws and the panels were blown of in a recent wind storm. read more

Michael from T&G roofing made getting a new roof almost painless. He was very knowledgeable and explained why he recommended certain materials were better (flat cap ridge so it won't crack and leak way earlier like fancy ridging does) He let me know he'd replace all of the metal flashing, new vents and pipe jacks and then put it in writing. I got 4 bids some with only the type of shingle and a price. One was a little lower but I felt more comfortable with Michaels' communication and know how to do the job right. He did a very good job according to the building inspector (he was impressed with the length of the metal flashing and how good the finished roof looked.) T&G roofing also cleaned up every day and even used a magnet to make sure there weren't any nails lying around. It was really nice not to have to live in a construction zone at night. We have a huge roof and they only took off what they could replace in one day so I wouldn't get any rain damage. That and them being really really careful about my plants (nothing got damaged) is why I'm so grateful I chose T&G roofing! Plus the guys were all great. I'd definitely hire them again if our next house needed a roof. read more

Michael, at T&G Roofing out of Longview, WA kept me informed when they would do our roof and they were their bright and early on the day he said and his crew (6) were all working! No one was goofing off and they worked together helping as they stripped off the old roofing material. The job took most of the day (double wide manufactured home) and at the end of the job, they thoroughly cleaned around our house, they used magnets to search of any nails or metal objects around our house, in the street and in our neighbors driveway! They cleaned our rain gutters, swept our driveway and did a walk around to check for any final things that needed to be done. We have a wall A/C unit that hangs outside the house and without asking they used the same matching roofing material to cover the wood panel that overhangs that A/C unit!! I would totally recommend Mike and T&G Roofing. After the job was over, his crew was polite and pleasant to talk to prior to their departure. read more
