The installation crew was very professional, hard working, and completed a beautiful job in 3 days…read more We are incredibly happy with the overall outcome. However, my issue lies with the business team and their lack of communication and negligence of customer requests. In my email discussing the project details, I said I wanted "the privacy with scalloped picket top in white with gothic caps." I also said that I didn't see latch options for gates, but that I wanted handles. I received the quote quickly after, and didn't catch that the picket top was not included in the quote. I didn't see handles either, but was informed it came with the gates so I didn't question. We spoke with our neighbors and all but one were ok with installation. He refused to allow us to remove his rusted and broken fence, which meant we lost a few feet of our property as we had to move in front of the tree line that bordered his fence on our side. This also meant the installation cost would decrease because they were now only removing one less section of fence (it was confirmed this would be the case if a neighbor refused during the quote process). They confirmed the installation date quickly, but I asked for the updated quote several times over the next week and a half. There were sometimes days between replies and all I got was a few, we'll send it shortly's, and an email confirmation after my fourth request that the cost would be $150 less. Installation went smoothly, until I saw that flat caps were installed instead of the gothic caps I requested. I checked my quote and saw that gothic was listed, and that's when I noticed that the picket top I requested in my details email was missing from the quote. I asked the installation crew and they informed me there was no picket top and that they were told flat caps were needed. I then noticed that there were no handles on the gates. At this point I was fed up with the office because of the horrible communication from them I'd already experienced, and called the quote guy. He picked up right away and informed me that handles were not included (which is not was I was told, nor did he bother to mention when I specifically requested them in my original email). He said that they could, however, put them on without issue and that he would personally inspect in the morning at 9. The next day he showed an hour and a half late for our appointment (for an emergency I was told, but it's yet another point where there wasn't any communication informing me of that until I called him). Upon our discussion, he said someone would come by Thursday to add the missing handles and to fix a post placement. I informed him I was happy with the look of the fence and that we could keep the caps and the scalloped only with no picket, but the point was that what I originally requested was ignored. Imagine if I'd been a customer who wasn't happier with what was installed vs. what I'd chosen? It would have been an absolute nightmare to fix, especially with the communication issues I'd already been having. He played if off that it was fate that this particular fence happened to be in stock because now they were several weeks out for other fence styles. Not the point, but I let it go. Thursday came and I received no confirmation as to a time someone would come. I called the twice, then finally got a response saying someone would come at noon. Noon came, then an hour and a half later I called to get an update. No response. I called a few more times over the next few hours (I did leave a voicemail as well). Still no response. After 5 hours I sent an email stating I would escalate the situation if the lack of communication continued, and that I STILL hadn't received a document with the new pricing. Within a few minutes someone responded that they'd be there at 6:30 and hoped I understood that the rain is what held them up. I understood how the rain could delay the installation crew, but do not understand how the rain excuses the people at the office who are indoors. They could have provided an updated ETA, but didn't until I threatened escalation. Because of their quick response after I'd done that, this tells me that they'd been seeing my calls and just ignoring them. The crew came at 6:30 and added the handles and fixed the post. I inspected and thanked the crew and the job was completed. Again, this review has NOTHING to do with the installation crew and the work they did. We've gotten so many compliments from neighbors on it and we love it. It has everything to do with the unprofessionalism of the office staff. So if you hire, be prepared for that.

Losers - they just moved into my neighbor…read more Your car is parked in front of your apt with your company on it. So not only are you inconsiderate you're also dumb. Lighting fires is illegal in Brockton for apts. also nobody wants to hear you singing on microphones at 9:30pm. Absolutely diabolical. Saw that the fire department had to come out to extinguish your fire.. so embarrassing to watch from grown adults. But not surprised because I heard the neighbors yelling at you and you kept it lit. We have a few people with newborns that live right near you so have some consideration.. After talking with surrounding neighbors it sounds like everyone is going to put in complaints. So maybe just stop while you're ahead.. If I see anymore fires I'll come over personally and dump water on them.

I rarely leave a review like this, but after months of emails, photographs, multiple return visits,…read moreand repeated opportunities for JR's Landscaping to correct this job, I feel other customers should know about our experience. What makes this especially disappointing is that we were repeat customers. JR's Landscaping completed a large project for us last year and did a very good job. That experience is exactly why we trusted them enough to hire them again this year. Unfortunately, this experience could not have been more different. We paid $2,563 for this landscaping job, and our concerns are not simply that we "didn't like" the finished product. We have an extensive photographic and written record showing the instructions provided, the work performed, the condition in which the property was left, and our repeated attempts to have the problems corrected. Our agreement included work involving our raised garden bed, removal of mint, fresh loam, a heavy-duty weed barrier, mulch, edging and weeding, as well as relocating bushes and other landscaping work. We were extremely specific about what we wanted. In fact, before the work began, I went so far as to number the individual bushes and photograph where each one was supposed to be relocated. We also clearly identified plants that were NOT to be removed. Despite that, the crew removed plants they had specifically been instructed to leave alone. The most upsetting of those were my deceased mother's poppies. I had explicitly communicated multiple times that those poppies were to stay. They weren't simply landscaping plants to me. My mother adored those poppies, and they held tremendous sentimental value. When I arrived at the property, the crew had dug them out and put them in the trash. Workers retrieved what scraps they could from the trash pile, and I was left hoping that perhaps something would survive so I could preserve even a small piece of the beautiful poppies my mother grew. Money can replace mulch, loam and landscaping. It cannot replace something sentimental belonging to someone you have lost, particularly when the company was explicitly told not to remove it. Unfortunately, that was far from the only problem. Our photographs show areas where bushes were removed and the property was left with bare and disturbed soil, leaves, debris and unfinished beds rather than being properly restored. Tom had an employee fix this issue. Landscape edging and debris was left crooked, displaced and out of alignment. Rocks and other material were left rather than being properly cleaned up. Some of the mulch was extremely thin or nonexistent in areas. Weed barrier was left visibly exposed. Tom had an employee address the edging as well. And unbelievably, their trash was left lodged in one of our trees. These aren't subjective complaints about whether we personally like a particular landscaping style. These are visible conditions that we photographed. The raised garden bed became another ongoing problem. The mint was supposed to be removed, fresh loam added, and a heavy-duty weed barrier installed. Yet after the initial work, we questioned whether the mint had actually been properly dug out. We contacted the owner and provided photographs of the problems. To his credit, he personally came to the property, saw the condition of the work, and asked us to send him photographs documenting everything that needed attention. We did. On June 12, we were told someone would be sent to address the issues. When I continued questioning whether the mint had actually been properly removed, the owner checked with his crew. On June 23, he acknowledged in writing that his crew had not completely dug out the mint in the raised garden area and said a crew would be sent back to take care of it. We gave them another opportunity to fix it. Weeks later, we were still dealing with the same problem. On July 13, we were again told someone was being sent over to dig out the remaining mint in the raised garden bed. Once again, we gave the company an opportunity to correct the work. The person who came back spent much of his time walking around on his phone, picked/pulled mint from the area rather than addressing the underlying issue as we understood it was supposed to be addressed, and moved mulch back over the area. Now the mint has fully grown back. The weed barrier that was supposed to help prevent this is visible throughout portions of the garden. The mulch is practically nonexistent in areas, and the raised bed was not filled with loam to the level we had discussed. So after the original crew, the owner's personal inspection, photographs documenting the problems, and multiple subsequent visits supposedly intended to correct the work, we are essentially back where we started with the mint.
