I had to give one star cause you CAN NOT select zero stars. I came in to T&T on Calgary trail to prepaid for a Birthday cake to be picked up the next day. Had a family member picked the cake the next day. When we opened the box few hours after dinner. Cake order was the wrong cake and wrong size. We ordered a 8inch and got 6inch. I called the store spoken to female staff in bakery dept. I told her the issue and she advise me that the other customer also called to say that they got the wrong cake. You would think that T&T would called me to tell me that I got the wrong cake, but you that NEVER happen. She also had the audacity to asked why I didn't look at the cake. Didn't know that I had too. So, after talking to her for 5 minutes and she said that they had to call back to ask for permission to the return. After all that I did get a call same today saying that they would refund the money back. But with NO apology. read more

It's a good place for shopping and you can find a lot of Asian products that is not easy in a normal grocery store! The staff are nice and helpful. Now let's get to dislikes: The parking is horrible and the exit from that parking is a nightmare! Basically this massive store with a giant traffic is located in a very wrong place! The store is not big enough for the traffic and it seems like people can't really move easily and shop in peace! Again, I may go back there for unique products that I like and need but if there is another option, I probably try the other option for the mentions negative points. I have always wanted to see what shopping at this store would be like. First off, it 's huge and the shelves are full to the rim with products. I have never seen a store with all that product on the shelves. WOW ! Very impressive with the variety as well, One reviewer wrote " they are very racist and segregate non asians and everyone else serving them first and refusing to service to everyone else".. well I certainly did not see that today. The staff were great when I asked about something and they served me at the hot food section - no one told me to go stand in the back to wait. The hot food section had a great selection and people were lining up for it. Even fresh roasted duck. I love sushi and there was plenty to choose from ( reasonable prices as well). The baked goods are looked amazing .. my sweet tooth was ready for some goodies . But when I got to the fish department... wow ! The selection was unbelievable. I have never seen clams that big, crabs piled up , and fresh fish. I am not a big fan of fish but seafood I do love. The variety is insane.. shrimp , squid, lobsters , and musssels..oh my ! I just walked around a bit to see what else they had in stock. Everything for home cooking chinese food is all here.. even woks . A pack of spring rolls, shrimp, onion pancakes, some sushi and everything came up to just over $20. Simply put, if you are looking for Asian foods specifically , then I suggest to go here. read more

Went there yesterday to buy some Snow Crab as a regular customer i only go there to get fresh fish and crab etc I usually go there with my kids or partner unfortunately I went there alone so I purchased $121.95 in crabs so after choose my crabs I then give it on to the staff at the counter to weigh it and I requested for the back to remove so i had to leave it and go pay first(no one was with me to watch), after paying I pick up my crabs and went home not until I take it out to wash I realize that something is not right with the size of the crabs I choose from the one they give me with damaged (lots of black spot ) and very little I realize that when I left to go pay the staff exchange my chosen crabs and give me the little ones that are mostly black spots and fine not very happy and please with this. Was surprised to see a tray with combo meals now separate from the rice or noodle... Been going to T&T for 4yrs and today June 30th / 22 was not impressed !! Yes you people treat your own or Mandarin Speaking individuals better than Non Individuals !! The individual in front of me got the same 3 combo meal but with a lot of extra fillings to the tray than myself.??? Guess I didn`t have the same Ethnicity being this Canada Day Tomorrow and I was happy to go there wearing a Canada Day Hat :) Shame on you individuals who think your better. This is the best place to find hard to find Asian groceries and beauty products. Even their sister store the real Canadian superstore doesn't carry this big a selection. It's brightly lit inside and along the aisles and neatly organized. There's always someone available at the butcher & seafood station, plus there's a wide selection of live fresh seafood. The bakery has never disappointed me and always has a fresh selection and alongside their ready to eat take out food. Can we say quick win for mealtime? I love the milk bread there...it's super fluffy. Beauty items are more on expensive side compared to online pricing from other stores, but it balances out due to shipping & handling. They also carry Korean brands that are popular on YouTube: étude house, Clio, missha, etc. There are so many neat, colorful, cute things/food to try out, but sometimes it's hard to know what the product is because of Asian characters written on packaging rather than English, but English is in tiny print on back stickers. Staff are helpful. One took the time to help put groceries on the conveyor belt because my hands were full with baby & toddler. Parking is hit or miss with lots of pedestrian and vehicle traffic... easiest times to get parking that I've found is early afternoon on weekdays. read more

TnT on the south side? No way! I have to admit the first time I came here was not the greatest experience. The parking was horrible, there was none because the lot was way to small and sharing with the other businesses. The place was so packed it was like shopping at a concert. But... Coming in now is great! After the initial shock of of the grand opening it started to be become a regular shopping market. I like coming here on my lunch break once a week to grab dim sum. Dim sum is always fresh along side with the bakery and sushi (medium grade but still pretty good). I find the employees are much more friendly and helpful here than the other locations. I like that they have a small section for cosmetics and facial products that are Asian. The store is clean and have regular sales which is great. I would recommend coming I when it's not peak hours and weekends because parking is limited. Definitely be back here soon. read more

AVOID PREPARED FOOD HERE My family and I got some take out here it was the worst food I have ever purchased in my life when I returned the next day and asked for a manager I was received with horrible customer service very rude and didn't want to hear my experience and she was visibly angry I was telling her about my it. I always wish I were better at finding things when I visited here. Maybe it's just that most of the time I'm looking for Japanese food and this supermarket specializes in other Asian specialties. Still, I'm only good at finding snackfoods when I visit and that's pretty disappointing. Still, while T&T overwhelms me, I do love the fact that it provides me the option to buy a whole lot of uncommon produce when compared to the other supermarkets in this city. I went here to get about 10lbs of salmon that is on sale. They had 2 sides that looked really nice. When I asked if I could have 3 more and that I would like to have all 5 descaled (skin on but scales removed) the person actually refused! Yes, the fish is on sale..but seriously..who wants scales?? Customer service leaves a LOT to be desired!! In the past I have experienced the same kind of attitude at the hot food counter .. as I said... customer service is pretty much non existent.. maybe it is because I'm white.. but.. I love T&T, but for a very specific reason: their vegetarian buns. They're incredibly cheap (around $1.25) and simply so tasty. The bread is fluffy and light, while the "fake meat" is savoury and delicious. Vegetarian or no, try this bun out at their dim sum counter. Just remember to bring your own container so you don't have to use and throw away styrofoam! read more

I had always wanted to check out T&T and after reading Lorraine's review and finding out that they have dim sum, it was even more of a priority! Every time I've driven past this location, the parking lot has been crazy. Saturday night was no exception. The lot was full but with enough people coming and going, you only had to circle once. Inside was a lot smaller than I expected. Additionally, I found that the aisles were really tight. However, it was super well lit and everyone was really friendly. I love the baskets with wheels as an alternative to carrying your baskets, especially when you fill them all with all of the awesome products here. The fresh produce all looked great. The area wasn't as big as the grocery stores I'm used to but that's okay. There was also a huge fresh meat and seafood area, bigger than I am used to! The fresh dim sum and sushi area looked good. I'll have to go back when it isn't so busy to check it out closer (if it ever isn't busy - I only imagine it's busy always because it looked so good!). I ended up grabbing some sticky rice and some frozen dim sum products to throw in the steamer at home. These didn't fill the craving I was having so I'll have to stick to fresh dim sum in the future. But covering them with Sriracha makes everything taste amazing! For me it was fun to explore but I don't think I have a need to go back anytime soon. read more

I'm a fan of T&T, and I'm certainly happy to have one so close to home. BUT... What. Were. They. Thinking. ?!?!?! This location is waaaaaaay too small. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon and bumping into people. The parking lot was also pretty full. I can only imagine what it's like around 5pm or on a weekend. It's bright and clean, very well organized, and has everything I would normally get at the WEM location. So I'm happy about that. The price on produce is incredibly reasonable. While I appreciate having a location on the South Side, I really don't think this is the best location. read more

First of all, never see a grocery store stock and serve at the same time like this store. Aisle were blocked. Customer cannot get through. Dangerous - employee pushing stocking carts plus empty boxes everywhere. Fire hazard - in case of fire - aisles or escape routes are blocked . This is happening almost everyday. It's like shopping in a warehouse. My sister had called in advanced to pick up her rice dumplings. Half an hour of chasing and asking and realized it was never arranged. Of course, the person she talked to was off for the day. Most frustrated part is nobody speaks English. And when she tried to use the pull cart after she paid - she is 95 pound, 75 year old. She was harassed by the staff because that plastic cart does not pass the cashier. But there is no real shopping cart. And they cannot comprehend the fact that she is waiting for me INSIDE the exit, NOT LEAVING the store at all. So all customer has to hand carry their paid merchandise pass the cashier regardless how weak you are. Safeway actually offer help to load the grocery into your vehicle. Where is the customer service here, again nobody speaks English. Absolutely unacceptable for a multi million dollar operation that has no English speaking employee, plus no training in dealing with small problems. Disappointing is a huge understatement. Also love to pick up a veggie steamed bun or avocado sushi rolls from the prepared section for a healthy snack when out shopping. My wife, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law were in the south side location to pick up some lunch. One of the dishes they ordered was a combination dinner with two items - duck and bbq pork. The bbq pork was fine but the employee took scraps of duck (lots of fat and feather remnants). When given to them, my sister-in-law responded that she did not want that duck because it was terrible. The employee, not very pleased, removed the duck in the container, but did not replace it with other duck that could be cut from the display case. They were only charged for the bbq pork but thought the customer service was terrible. This is not the first time this type of service has been encountered by this particular department. There are many positive aspects of this store, but this type of service and quality of product will hinder future visits to this location. read more

I love T&T because they offer great variety in Asian foods. The only reason for the 4-star rating instead 5 is because of the small store size on the southside. Otherwise, it is definitely as good as Asian products get in Edmonton. I go there almost every week to pick up Chinese produce (can be a bit pricey, have to be on the lookout for sales) that is exclusive to T&T (bean sprouts, taro, dragonfruit etc.). My personal favourite however, is the fresh to-go food. Their bentos are authentic Chinese, and in my opinion more delicious than most Edmonton restaurants. Steamed buns are always fresh and filled with delicious, juicy pork and vegetables, and the cold platters are seasoned well and tastes like home. A personal recommendation is the BBQ section, with cha-siu pork and Chinese sausage. The Chinese bakery at the Calgary Trail location is a must-try; their baked good look and taste professional. My family buys bread and other breakfast foods there every week, as well as cakes and pastries for special celebrations such as birthdays and Chinese new year. The cream is always fresh, and on-point. It is not too sweet (which is a fault I find in many western-style baked goods), and the presentation is always gorgeous. They do pre-order as well as walk-in for baked goods, and I haven't been disappointed yet. The prices is generally a little higher than many other Asian grocers and the workers there may not speak good English (which can be intimidating), but it is definitely worth going if you're looking for specific products or delicious food. read more

This T&T is smaller than the one at WEM. Parking is ridiculous. There is hardly anywhere to park, so many cars and people roaming around the parking lot. My favorite part of the store is the seafood section. I like seeing all the live fish, eels, crabs and lobsters. It's like being at an aquarium- but for free! The baked goods section is so-so. The pastries look good BUT the ones I've eaten were quite bland. Where's the sugar? I also like the pre-made egg salad sandwiches. Customer service is always good. read more

I would NEVER eat at a tnt food court again in my life. I feel as if I might throw up as I'm typing this review. I never write reviews mind you, I'm only writing this one because of how terrible the food and service was and the fact I am feeling physically ill after eating at their establishment. My boyfriend and I went to the Gateway Blvd location for lunch earlier today. He ordered the duck combo and I ordered the 3 item combo. Everything was awful. The ginger beef was hard and you could tell had been sitting out for a long time (possibly even days )after tasting it. The mixed vegetables were soggy and dripping in an oily type broth. The chicken soup was flavourless and even a full packet of soya sauce didn't make it any better. My boyfriends duck was under cooked and not safe to consume. The staff was rude and rushed you through the line messing up on orders as they go and then pouring a new food item into the same box as the one they gave by mistake. We ended up throwing out our meals and wasting 25 dollars. Try the Harvey's next door. We went there still hungry after our experience and enjoyed a well cooked original burger with cheese. read more

The store still has the brand new bright fresh aura and I could spend hours looking through their vast selection of food and merchandise. I came for the fresh oysters - best ever! T & T has some really great products that you cannot find anywhere else. Their dim sum is very good and you can find some really unique items! The only downside to this location is the HORRIBLE, tiny, packed parking lot. (not that there is anything you can really do about that!) T & T is worth the visit! read more

After I purchased and ate a cold Vietnamese Sticky Rice Plate from T & T, I came down with the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. I lost 12 pounds in a matter of a few days and was sick with vomiting and diarrhea. There were some pork slices in this dish which may have been tainted with E.coli. Don't know where T & T purchases its pork products from, but hopefully its not from the meat companies recently in the news selling bad pork products. I will not return to T & T ever again. read more

This T&T is much better than the one located in the west side. It is a smaller store but it is quite clean and workers seem more friendly. They also have most things in stock that would be out of stock at the WEM location. read more
