By far the worst manicure and pedicure I've ever received. I went there yesterday, and asked for shellac French manicure- today the white tip portion is chipping. He also accidentally cut my cuticle (which is fine, it happens) but instead of stopping the bleeding he painted over the blood. So now I have blood under the clear nail polish. He missed the sides of my nails. Also I asked for a pedicure- they had me put my feet in the water, did a terrible job painting my nails, and that was it! No lotion or anything else. I asked him to correct the bad areas; he got very defensive telling me that he didn't know what my problem was and that he didn't see anything wrong.... I highly recommend to not get the guy with the tattooed arms and consider going elsewhere. VERY DISAPPOINTED! a waste of $70 bucks. The service was maybe worth $10. read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? My wife went to get a shellac mani and had to leave mid service due to injury by the nail tech. Instead of just soaking off the old polish, he apparently wanted to expedite this process by filing it off and was so aggressive with the electric file, he drilled into her actual nail which was extremely painful and left it severely damaged. She said she no longer wanted shellac, that her nail had to heal and he looked surprised and still charged the polish removal fee. Horrible service!!! read more

Horrible experience. Was told 20 min wait time at 2:50 and didnt get into the chair until 3:45. The guy was horribly rude to me. My nail started chipping the next day. Came in to get it fixed. 2 days later another one chipped and then the next day another one chipped. I got an acrylic fill. I've NEVER had my polish on my acrylic chip like this before. Ok... so the lady who did my nails was nice and coversational. However, I paid $40 to have the dipping nail powder for my manicure and was told to expect it to last 2 to 3 weeks. Yes, I have been coming here this long. I can promise you that any nail technician Tracy trains is well and completely trained in their artistry. These are trained technicians! When I pay to have my nails and toes done, I want them to look like they have been professionally done. They always come out looking like Melania Trump's nails, who could ask for better than that? The staff was unprofessional and rude. Two of us were from out of town. We called for an appointment for 3 pedicures at 3:30 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017. We were not greeted. When we inquired to the person at the desk about our appointment no one answered. The only staff we could see were with customers, so we inquired again the nail person by the door shouted at us, "OK OK OK!" Unacceptable. All of the customers looked VERY uncomfortable. We told them that we were no longer comfortable to get good service here and we left. I will never return. read more

Love my nails! But the customer service is lacking. My nail tech is also the receptionist for the salon so you would think she had better people skills. I sat there in silence. Terrible job! Many of these reviews say Bow is the best. I got a full set of Gel nails from her and they're terrible. She was really rushing. They are so thick and the nails are positioned on an angle. Cuticles look awful too. She said I should have had a manicure first. I asked her if she was going to make them thinner as i saw her applying the gel so thickly and she said yes, then she did not make them thinner, so I wonder if she was pre-occupied and forgot a step. i asked her to round the tips and she kept them square. i felt llike i was telling her how to do her job. These nails feel like a bad acrylic job. Gel nails are supposed to be so natural looking and feeling. These look like large lumps on my fingers. Total waste of $40 bucks! The place is dirty too. Check out the layer of dust on everything! Holes in the wall, awful decor and holes in chairs. I did not fing the staff friendly. read more

This was, by far, the worst nail salon I've ever been to, and because I travel extensively, I've been to many salons. It was dirty (there were nail clippings from a previous client on the towel I was supposed to put my hands on), messy, and dingy. The manicurist, a barefooted guy about 18 years old, told me not to look at my nails as he was filing them, as it made him nervous! This place is dirty, an empty potato chip bag on one of the stations, dust on the nail polish bottle, grungy looking towel on manicure station. I was pretty much ignored when I walked in, the staff were on their digital devices. The manicure was fine after all of that. They seem to have loyal customers coming in. I am a summer resident in TC. For the last few years I went to TC Nails and was satisfied. Today my daughter and I went. We both had mani/pedi's. The tech clipped my toe nails on one foot and not the other. The paint job is not cleaned up and messy. As for the manicure... I had clear polish on. The tech didn't even try to take the clear off. She scraped the clear polish off as she was pushing my cuticles. Again, the paint job is terrible! She used a base coat as a top coat. When she realized this, she added the top coat on top. My nails are thick with polish, bubbly, and uneven. Extremely disappointed! I wouldn't give it a star. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service of any salon in Traverse City! Upon entering, I signed the sheet for a manicure and pedicure. The older man who always looks bored to death was at the desk. I told him twice that I would like a FEMALE nail tech- because I've been cut and bloody from pedicures with 2 of the male techs. I also said "a GIRL". He said it would be about 30 minutes, so I said I would wait. ( there was 1 female and 2 male techs working, and each had a customer.)After 35 minutes I was seated at a pedicure chair. I sat there for 10 minutes, tHe customer who was with the female tech paid and left. Then holy crap a new lady walked in and the female tech started doing her nails! One of the male techs came over and was going to start my pedicure- incidentally he has cut me and also given me a very bad pedicure in the past. I politely said I asked for a female. The big oaf at the desk said he didn't hear me! Funny, all the customers did, and I repeated it twice. I left, after wasting 50 minutes of my time. I will NEVER return and if you want good mani/pedis with good customer service, you shouldn't go here either!! Wish I could give 0 stars!!! read more

MaryAnne and Jimmy give a really good pedicure. You may even get a little side show, if Jimmy spontaneously breaks out into dance. (I was told after inquiring, that I didnt have to pay extra for the dance). :) They are both really nice and friendly. MaryAnne did her own design while I was there and Jimmy turned the seat over to Bao to paint the design I brought in and I was super impressed- it looked better than the picture I had brought with me! I've been to TC Nails a bunch of times and for some reason I decided to try another place to mix things up. Well that place rudely said they had no time for me even though I called ahead! So back to TC Nails I went and had a great experience, I don't know why I wanted to switch. I've had Shellac there twice by the same woman, I'm sorry I don't know her name but she is very thorough and it has lasted perfectly. She sits in the first chair closest to the front desk if that helps. I also hated the color I picked for my toes and I stopped her after the first nail and she was so happy to switch it for me. It felt really nice that she was so friendly when I was being so indecisive. My only complaint is that they don't carry Essie polish, other than that it's a great place! read more

This nail salon is way over priced. Had a gel manicure one week ago and my nails already chipped and peeled. Their prices are ridiculous. Was charged $100 dollars for pedi, mani, and my daughter got a full set. Normally this would cost around $80. Bad service, rude people. Very rough. Not clear on their pricing either. The best pedicure I've had in years!! They took their time on all 3 of us and made sure to make our feet look perfect. The sugar scrub and hot stones were a lovely touch as well. My shellac manicure was impeccable as well. read more

So pretty much I had long and healthy nails, I asked the man doing my nails to not cut them just do a light file. He proceeds to file them each for about 40 seconds so that the nails barely went off my finger. He then proceeded to make every finger nail a different shape. I will not be coming here again, I can save $32 dollars and paint them better myself. read more

First off they started my mani and then when another customer came in early for her appointment he dropped me and went and took care of her. He left me soaking in a bowl of acetone - never done that before. Thats dangerous and bad for your nails. Then they cured the nails for 5 minutes! Folks thats not normal and its not safe. This place is horrible. I went there earlier today to get my acrylic nails taken off and a shellac manicure. The man doing my nails starting ripping the acrylic nails off with three different tools. It was very painful. After one nail I asked him if he can soak them and then take them off, his response was "it will take too long." After a painful 15 minutes of having my nails being ripped off, he was cutting my cuticles when he made both of my thumbs bleed. My left thumb bled for the entire time. He was wiping the blood away with his dirty towel until I asked him not to use it. 30 minutes after I got home the shellac nail polish chipped on two nails. I will not be going back to this place and I will be filing a report with the better business bureau! 12 hours later and my nails/fingers still hurt. I do not recommend this place. read more

This shop is awful! Worst I've ever experienced. The technician was not pleasant and his skills were lacking. The cuticle trimmer was not sterilized, he just sprayed it with alcohol. I'm accustomed to the instruments' being autoclaved but I live in Texas and that may not be done here. He appeared irritated with any request. His paint job, shellac, looks thick and makes my nails look like I've had a bad acrylic manicure. His nails were disgusting, jagged and dirty. Stay away!! read more
