My daughter wanted to go here for her prom dress. Prom isn't until April, but she wanted a good selection and to get it out of the way. They had a great selection of dresses and many employees helping. We were greeted when we walked in, told about the dresses, and they said to let them know if we needed anything. I liked how they didn't hover and make us feel pressured. When my daughter was ready to try on a dress, a sales person promptly helped her and stayed with us through her trying it on, sizing her, talking about how to tailor the dress. When she said yes to the dress, the employees all complimented on how beautiful she looked in the dress. We then took pictures with props (very cute). (They let you take pictures here unlike some other formal dress stores.) We had to order a different size and it took maybe a week to come in. Not long at all. When we went to pick it up, the store wasn't as busy, and we still got great attention. They retrieved the dress, waited for her to try it on. More compliments. Very friendly, kind, patient people. The store and dressing rooms were clean. As for cost, it's expensive. But that's to be expected. We had a great experience and would recommend to others. read more

I came here with my mom to look for mother of the bride dresses. Horrible selection if you are between sizes 10-16. They have sizes 8 and under, 18 and over. Customer service sucks. Our "sales person" never even introduced herself. She insulted my dress which is designed by Watters, insulted my mother when she insisted she wanted a short dress, and didn't bother to check on us after someone else walked in. Had an opposite experience 3 year later for my daughters wedding. Dress was ordered 5 months before event. I called at 4 months to check on delivery date. They called manufacturer who said they were not going to make it in that color. Even though it was paid for and ordered so long before. T Carolyn was very apologetic. I'm getting married but didn't want a traditional wedding dress. I'm plus size so I knew I most likely wasn't going to be able to find a dress to try on. The place has a great selection and the prices aren't bad either. The 2 dresses I tried on, one was a 18 the other was a 16. I'm a 20 but managed to still try on. The staff didn't make me feel bad about not being able to close the back. Unfortunately the dress I wanted only came in an 18. My sales lady gave me solutions as to what a the tailor could do so it will work. She also gave me the card for the tailor they recommend. Purchased my daughter's dress from here, which was the first and the last ! Although, we felt pressured in purchasing... & the dress looked like it had been tried on many times ... Nevertheless, My daughter decided to get the dress ...hoping they had another one or maybe can order one... No, instead they said they would clean up the dress ... I have never felt more insulted than I did trying to find a dress for a cruise in the store. The lady that greeted me said look around I will pull dresses for you and then proceeded to ignore me as I wandered trying to find something. She then took another bridal party and started helping them that came in after I did. Her coworker offered no assistance as she was helping two other people that came in. T Carolyn really is a great store. They are an excellent quality and they stand behind their dresses. We recently has a horrible experience with a Taylor that would not touch the dress and our photo shoot was in 1 week. We went to the store and not only did they have their Taylor fix all the issues that we had with the dress but they helped us get am incredible price on the alterations. I visited today with my mother for a mother of the bride dress. Firstly, when we walked in, several employees looked our way but not one greeted us. Not a welcoming vibe at all. As we were looking around, one employee did manage to come up and offer help, however, as my mother was explaining the style of dress she preferred, she was constantly told that the particular style wasn't usually found in "her size." I found myself hearing several words and phrases that were inappropriate and meant to cause body shaming. When we did find a dress that we liked, we were immediately told, "oh, well this one is (a certain amount)." Not sure if the discrimination was due to my mother being Latina, or not your typical size 10, but either way, we cannot recommend this store to anyone. A good piece of advice would be to educate your employees on how to properly and respectfully treat ANY person who enters and is willing to provide you with business. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. I've now been twice to this store each time leaving more disappointed than the last. My Mom initially purchased and kept one Ivan D designer gown from here for my wedding but ultimately, the size and color were not what she was looking. Keeping this one for another occasion, Mom went back to T Carolyn s again to custom order a second mother of the bride dress that was featured on their website. When we went for her fitting we initially thought the dress was off, but with all the clipping, it was difficult to tell. When we went to alterations, they confirmed that the dresses neckline was completely wrong and not at all the one that we ordered. After bringing this to the attention of the manager, and arguing with the sales associate that the neckline cannot be fixed by alterations, the manager told us that there was nothing they could do and all sales were final. Do yourself a favor and never custom order a dress, and look for a much classier act. It is obvious taking care of customers is not at all a priority here. They should really revise their policy to include customer service, especially for repeat customers. read more

My friend and I were potential customers last week. It was my first actual day to begin the search for MOG dress. Tried on several, none of them in my size or young looking. The last one I really liked but again it would have to be altered as they dont have any small sizes. Was told by the sales lady Margaret that the dress had just come in ( it was in the window) and was told this dress was " flying off the shelves" . Well I would have had to alter a size 6 into a 4 or 2 . The store does not do alterations! (!!!) and that alone would add much to my price of the dress. The final straw was when she whispered that she could only hold the dress if her boss did not see her put it aside. Oh and that "all sales are final". How ridiculous! Had a great experience! ! I went for mother of the bride dress shopping. We had no expectations. I am the sister of the bride. My mother found what she wanted in under 30 minutes on a sales rack. T Carolyn's is the most pretentious and overrated shop I've ever been to. Went there to try on prom dresses the other day, and was initially led to the prom section. Not even ten minutes later, we were asked to refrain from trying on dresses because we were not accompanied by a parent. Being a seventeen year old that is paying for her own dress, this obviously pissed me off. But now I can see why no one ever goes to T Carolyn's now. They're reputation to turn away young customers has come back to hurt them, such is the case with me. But just know that I eventually went right the street and purchased a gown from Muzzie's and am extremely satisfied with how they treated as a customer. Go execute yourself T Carolyn's. read more

I, unfortunately, had a very unpleasant experience with T. Carolyn. I like to give my business to local vendors for my upcoming wedding and have been looking for a location in my area for a mother of the bride dress and my future mother in law's dress. My plan was to make an appointment for next weekend but due to poor customer service, I will not be returning. I was greeted at the door with "We will be closing in 20 minutes." A welcome would have been better but I can understand the notice. Next I was told, "I need to place your drink on the counter." My drink was almost empty but again understandable. I began looking around and was approached once to ask if I needed help and was again reminded that they were closing soon. I began walking towards the entrance feeling the unwelcome glares. The clerk told me to not forget my drink. I asked if she minded placing in their trash can, because it was nearly empty. I got the response, "No sorry our trash is full." And was given my cup. I could see the empty trash can. Your staff may need some training on customer service. I came in to make an appointment to purchase two dresses, but your unwelcoming staff deterred me from giving you service. read more

I went in one day after school, stressing that I only had a few weeks left till prom. I had no clue what i wanted or what color fitted me best. I walked in and a friendly face greeted me right away at the door (Evan). She helped me shop around for the perfect dress and knew her stuff! As I was trying on the dresses that I had already picked out, Evan and Madison pointed out a dress that they really thought would look great on me. I took them up on their offer and sure enough it was the one. I couldn't stop smiling as soon as I saw myself in the mirror. They were so helpful and sweet and super fun to talk to. Terrie the other owner on the other hand was not so friendly. She looked at me and my mother several times and never spoke. Did not seem friendly at all. I thought she was one of the sales ladies and looked to rude for me to ask her for help. On the other hand Feridee was very helpful but seemed a bit timid. Later my mother told me that while I was in the dressing room Terri the owner spoke to her rudely but nicely to another sales person. Feridee was awesome and very knowledgeable. This boutique freaking sucks. I understand that it is a store for mature buyers. I get that. Except that why do they sell prom dresses if they do not allow people within the age bracket of prom try on dresses there. Even some of the employees said it was ridiculous they wouldn't let us try on dresses because we weren't 18 even though we had money to actually buy dresses. I do not recommend this place besides that point either. They have a cold atmosphere and do not carry a lot of nice dresses. Most of their merchandise is fairly ugly too besides like two items that we were able to find. They were hostile with the way they were treating us even though we were serious buyers. I purchased a rather expensive dress for my daughter's wedding. The person who assisted me took the measurements, and I trusted her to do so correctly. That was my first mistake. When I went to pay for the dress, I expected to pay less for the tea length dress versus the floor length dress. That was not the case. I paid the same price for less material. When the dress arrived, no one called to let me know it was in. I finally called as it was past the expected arrival date. The person on the phone asked if I received a call about the dress. I say "No, not yet." "Well then, it's not here," the clerk replied exasperatedly. I then asked her to double check. She was reluctant to do so. When I asked nicely a second time, she obliged. Sure enough, the dress was in the store. I went to pick it up only to find the wrong size had been ordered. A different person assisted and couldn't understand or explain the size discrepancy. Needless to say, I was very disappointed as the alerations cost to fix the dress will be more than double what I budgeted. Further, the person could not give me a good explanation other than to say she was sorry. I couldn't exchange the dress for the correct size as I only have two months before the wedding. No offer to assist with the alterations was made, only a referral given. I will never shop at this store again. I had a terrible experience. I only hope the person who does my alterations can make the dress work for me. I will certainly not be going to the tailor T Carolyn recommended or back to this store to purchase anything for sure! read more

Be aware that they do not take returns!! I made a purchase of 837.00. I went to extreme measures to locate the owner, left a note in the door the ffollowing day (a weekend) and then had to call several times. No changes were made no price tag removed, no time to wear the item. I was able to return it but their "restocking fee" of $301.00 was extreme. I will never shop there again. I understand a $50 restocking fee for their inconvenience or even $75, but $301.00?? What damage did they really incur? None other than I will tell all my friends not to shop there and now I've posted on YELP - I think the bad publicity will cost them for than $300. read more

She was spot on! Also it is posted in the store about no returns, when you walk out the door that's it.- You own the dress! But from what i encountered either online or at a bridal stores this is the policy. Only if you used Macy's or Dillard's could you return the dress but I don't think the selection was as nice or classy as T.Carolyns. I wanted to try dresses on in MY size, I wanted to see what it looked liked on me in the mirror and in front of my family. I agree with the other comments. I bought 2 dresses and discussed alterations needed with the sales consultant who NEVER said they did not provide alterations. I was losing weight and she told metro wait and bring my dresses back for alteration at least three weeks prior to the wedding, which I did. When I returned with the dresses, the guy who must be the manager said they did not do alterations and argued with me about their policies and how they have never done alterations. He then tried to send me 5 miles away to a part of town completely unfamiliar to me. Needless to say, I turned to Nordstrom who is helping me alter the dresses. All I can say is "buyer beware." They aren't' interested in your satisfaction or your special occasion. They only want your money. read more

My mom was in a rush to get a dress for my wedding because she had surgery and it delayed her being able to shop for a dress. She went while I was out of town. When I returned she brought the dress over (2 days after she bought it) and already had it in her mind that she didnt like it. The dress made her look much older than she actually is. I told her I agreed and that I wanted something more up-to-date/modern for her to wear. She tried to take it back and they would not take it back. After many failed attempts the dress is hanging in my closet unworn. Even tootsie's has a return policy!! I had high hopes for T Carolyn in finding a MOB dress. My experience was awful. It was a Tuesday afternoon & not busy, one other customer that I saw. I filled out my card and choices of dresses, told the sales person what I wanted, colors, etc. She could careless to bring me dresses I wanted or the proper colors. She apparently can't hear or read what I wrote on the info. card. Options here are limited for tea length, mostly long formal dresses. I am 5ft tall, and wanted shorter dress to avoid costly hem alterations. Stock is limited in my opinion & was told 20 weeks to order!!! Customer service here is the worst!! I decided to take my business elsewhere. Store is very overrated. Wedding Wire has 5 star reviews but I can't believe that. Overpriced too!! read more

Dresses are absolutely beautiful, but very pricey. So that said, the stylists there like to be the one to zip your dress, which is fine in most cases. However my friend is very uncomfortable with strangers doing so and asked me to do it and the ladies working there gave us a hard time about it. Also, my friend is very picky on what she wears seeing as so she only feels comfortable in long sleeve and long dresses, which is completely fine. Because of this, we needed more help trying to find the perfect dress... she decided on a dress eventually and took the picture when you decide on a dress.. before she purchased it, she saw a dress on the rack she liked and wanted to try it... she ended up loving it even more than her original decision! so she asked her stylist her opinion and the stylist said "oh i don't care" and continued to give a nonchalant attitude. she should have been ecstatic my friend chose this dress considering it was $400 more than the original dress! she would be making a bigger sale!! the main stylist there (i think she was the manager) assisted my friend more than the lady that started to help us...this is why i gave a 3, because they have beautiful dresses but hit or miss customer service. read more

How disappointing!! No one even bothered to say hi to me although I watched the salespeople being super nice to all of the other customers in the store. I watched them ask if they were the mother or the bride or groom, ask about styles they were looking for, budget, etc and I couldn't even get a hi until I found a dress I wanted to try on. And then all I got was a "Do you have a fitting room yet?" I asked one salesperson about 2 dresses I saw online and while I was pulling the pictures up, she walked away. I finally went to my dressing room to try on the few dresses I had picked and was finally approached by another salesperson. I asked her about the 2 dresses online and she informed me that they were very expensive (like I couldn't afford it) and were only custom order. I explained that I knew how much they were, but I definitely would want to see them in person to make sure they were of the quality I would want and the style would be flattering. She basically told me that wasn't possible and if I did order one of them, it was mine whether I liked it or not. I don't know many people that are willing to order a $700+ dress sight unseen with no options of returning or declining the purchase- especially when your store shows you offer the dress. While in my dressing room, 3 of the salesladies also proceeded to argue about whose customer was whose and who would get the next customer. Very unprofessional!! I was very excited about shopping for my mother of the groom dress at a place that supposedly specialized in that, but I will take my business and my budget somewhere that wants to be helpful, friendly and wants my business. read more
