In the past, we trusted them with several pieces of jewelry, but more recently we've had items returned to us damaged. The most recent experience was especially disappointing. We brought in pieces that had previously been repaired there because the repairs had failed and stones had fallen out. Instead of standing behind the work, the current owner attempted to charge us for the stones that had fallen out and that we had provided for resetting. To make matters worse, he questioned whether the stones were even purchased from their store and suggested they may have come from somewhere else. This was surprising and frustrating, considering we've used Camillo's exclusively for years. It really highlighted a disconnect with the customer relationship we thought we had built over time. After years of loyalty, we've decided it's time to find a jeweler who values long-term customers and stands behind their work. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to Camillo's.

Between my grandfather and I, we had six watches needing repair. Did my research and wanted to support small business. Found this shop. Called to ensure he would be open if the current pandemic situation. Answers the phone with simply "hello". Is this the Watchmaker Specialist?", I ask. "Yes." I then asked if he would be open the next day to drop by with the watches for repair. "No problem. I will be here" he responds. "Excellent. See you tomorrow." Today (the next day), I picked up my 89-year old grandfather to drive 25 miles to his shop. Arrive to the office building, then had to had to show my driver's license to a security guard. It has to be shown to a video camera where they take a picture of your license. Was not crazy about that given identity fraud. But had to do it to gain access to the building. Made our way up to the 7th floor, found the suite, only to find the office locked. Sign on door says call the number. So I do this and again, simply "hello". I let him know we were standing at the front door. "Who's this?", he asks. "A customer" i replied. "Oh, I am not there. I went to get some dinner. Can you wait 30 or 45 minutes?"........ So he wanted my grandfather and I to simply hang out and wait for him. Not very good customer service especially after I called beforehand to verify it was good to come down at that time. Which it was. But he left us in the lurch. We went someplace else. Was not a goid customer service experience.

Went in near closing time and was told the appraisals were not done but promised they would be ready the next day. The next day I received a text around 4 pm saying the appraisals were done and ready to be picked up. Arrived and was told they were done but not there and they had no way to get them but would have them tomorrow. No apology just this was our system sending you a text. Customer service is not that hard - do what you say you will and if you can't explain why not and then certainly deliver on your promise.

We honestly stop in frequently just to look at watches, and every visit they make us feel genuinely welcome. I called him and asked him if he would be able to add my charms while I waited and he did just that. The business is located inside the Joe V's on FM 1960 near Aldine Westfield. When I showed him the charms, he asked me where I wanted them to go on my bracelet and just like that he was finished in less than 10 minutes.
