You can choose the beans, and the filter method, so it will take you some time to test all the combinations! Still, the best part of this coffee bar is their fresh Dutch apple pie! It is being baked in store (the barista makes it him/herself!), so if you are lucky enough to get there when it is just finished, you can enjoy a piece of freshly baked pie. That should transport you back home, and makes you think about how your mother used to do that in the weekends! There is a nice large reading table, allowing you to do some work even (of course they have free WiFi!), or read one of the recent magazines they have available. The other thing I like is that they are dog friendly. It is perfectly fine to take your dog inside (I have a labrador), and sit there for a while. All in all, my favorite coffee place on IJburg! The reason I am not giving 5 stars is that they do not have anything substantial to eat. So if you get there around lunch time, and you are longing for a nice lunch, then you will have to make do with some pie, a croissant, a muffin, or a cookie.

Antwerp location? Well yes, Caffènation is a much loved coffeeshop in Antwerp. We are very lucky that Bert fell in serious love with a Dutch girl because that is what brought him here! Coffee lovers will really enjoy the big drinks menu at this place which offers a lot of different choices like cappuccino and espresso but also more adventurous drinks like a 'Ginger Spice' or a 'Bitter Moon'. Last few times I went with a flat white (like usual, they are my favorite!) and that tasted great. The space is quite big and has a lot of cosy spots to sit.
