Out of all the TJ, Maxx and HomeGoods in the area this is the absolute worst. The lines are always long. The selection is always picked over and they clearly just do not care about how the store looks. Wow - this TJ Maxx is huge! I've neverbeen to this location but I had to buy some dress shirts and where else can you find great bargain goods but TJ Maxx? This place is primarily huge because it's also a Homegoods - half the store is TJ Maxx and half the store is Homegoods. So the store is pretty wide and there is definitely a lot of selection. TJ Maxx doesn't have a lot of men's clothing but this location had just what I needed! The parking lot is also wide so you'll have no problem finding parking here. I will say -- it looks like this TJ Maxx is pretty poppin' as the line for checkout was INSANELY long. My mom actually frequents here and she said that the line is always long like this. It was long even for a weekday so I was shocked to see it. But I do have my love for TJ Maxx so I definitely will be back here whenever I need something. I think it's the closest one to my parents' house so it gives me another reason to return as well! read more

Employees are nice, on weekends especially the line is usually super long but they get you through the line at a decent speed despite all of that. I'm only writing this line to let somebody, anybody, in management know about the bathrooms. I've been here many times and every time the bathroom has always been absolutely disgusting. Not just on weekends but weekdays too. It could maybe make sense if it were near closing on a Saturday, but if it's noon on a Tuesday and your bathroom is already covered in toilet paper, paper towels, and water, that's crazy. I don't know who cleans the bathrooms or how often but it just really needs more attention. There was a time I've left my cart and walked to another store nearby to go to the bathroom and came back because the bathroom was that nasty. The sales floor is a bit of a mess too but as someone who worked in retail for a long time, it can be hard to keep that neat and nice so I get it. But the bathrooms need to be kept up a little better. read more

All TJ's are different and this is my favourite one of them all. This Location is huge, they have plenty of different things for around the house, so the selection is great. If you love kitchen ware, picture frames, rugs, bedding, bathroom and clothing, this is a great store. The staff here are friendly and the checkout line is fast when compared to other stores. They have about 10 registers, usually six open at a time. The location near my school only has three, so talk about a difference. read more

Rude cashier. I've always been able to take the hangers for the clothing I buy. He refused and said it was not allowed. But my major complaint was that he was so snippy the entire time. Just an attitude. Made me not want to shop there anymore. I just got their credit card recently and now I feel like I shouldn't have. All it takes is one rude employee to mess it up. read more

I wish there was a negative star rating, for the rare occasion where you've tried something multiple times and had a horrible experience each and every time. This HomeGoods / T.J. Maxx is hands down the worst in a 100 mile radius, (I can't speak to many outside of that) and each time it manages to get worse. Be sure to ask for Debbie, the manager, if you have the misfortune of being there when she is "running" things. I have yet to wait less than 30 minutes in line! That is absurd! Always with employees standing around talking all over the store AND behind the counter, but only 2-3 registers open. The pictures I took today, after walking away from a 10 minute wait in line, not moving forward once, are of the wrapping around line (16 sales in front of us, a few behind) and just 2 registers open! Once outside we saw Debbie (we only know her from a previous ridiculous wait and asking the lady who checked us out the managers name, turns out Debbie was standing right next to her and said the wait was to be expected when she couldn't pull anyone off the floor because of a "schedule"...I didn't ask her). Today Debbie was standing outside talking to someone and laughing, completely indifferent to the absolute mess inside. I shot the picture as we drove away from them, just breaking up their several minute chat and Debbie actually going to work to mess with the carts, certainly not back inside. This store is clearly run with apathy, which is just unacceptable. A customer can tolerate a lot of poor service, but indifference is just something people shouldn't have to put up with. If you're a big fan of people completely disregarding your time and ridiculously long lines and watching 1-2 employees slave away while others literally stand around talking, then this is absolutely the store for you! If this sounds like a horrible experience I'd just avoid this store. read more

The homophobic security shopper, without fail, comes up to the section where I'm shopping. Right next to me. She literally blocks me from shopping for my size on the racks. Especially men's clothes throughout the store. Most products are extremely disorganized. The same products, such as a particular brand of soap (already in bulk) are in multiple locations. Same product. Different aisles. Randomly placed. The checkout line is always backed up. The customer service associates don't care about their customers. You know, the people who shop there and help pay their wages. I smile & speak to them politely, but they rarely smile nor make eye contact. Work hard only to squeeze out a fake smile. I used to overlook the long wait in line & annoying security shopper, but not anymore. The Big Ball was dropped. The last couple of times checking out, the associates have been rude; but worst of all, racist. Racist against "light-skinned" customers, if you will. This last time was the deciding factor to not go back. I was treated differently than others. Right in front of my face. Different customer, different race, different treatment to the couple right behind me in line. They were greeted with a smile and asked how they were doing. So, the racist AND homophobic employees can keep their products, such as they are, in a store that looks like a tornado hit...no value in that! read more

This was my worst store experience of all time. I'm in the checkout line for 37 minutes while the staff walks around talking to each other, making jokes just chilling and customers loudly complain. Then when they finally call a customer, they are so slow. The white man at #5 is just turning around in circles as if he's looking for himself, then the black lady at #9 just disappears and her light was left on. A woman looking like a supervisor or manager is just walking by the long line and just smiling, offering no assistance or even an apology. In addition to that the store is hot and humid and their drink cooler is out of order. This whole store is out of order, you guys need to fix it or lose more business. read more

I love this store and the staff, quite frankly I don't understand while people are raging about others not wearing a mask, if you're wearing one and 6 feet from that person you're good right? Are you wearing gloves to touch the clothes? At some point you have to go on with your lives , at Home or in store. Don't give this place a low rating because you're a Karen. I AM SO TAKING YOU HOME WITH ME! This is a combined TJ Maxx and Homegoods Store. Why is it that this store is so much better than the stores in my area?. I shop at all of the stores from Cumming to the Perimeter and this store is clearly a "cut above". It is larger, super organized and well stocked. For example, the dress department has about five times more dresses of any store that I've visited. They have everything including summer casual, special occasion, professional, maxi, short etc. Their clearance racks were chocked full of items from sweaters to cute shorts, dresses, skirt, and tops. These are wearable items not "out of season" items that you now find in many stores. The Homegoods section of the store is also well dressed but the real value of this store is revealed in the food/snack department. Not many mainstream stores carry Walnut and Avocado oils and such a large and unique selection of gluten free treats. This has become one of my favorite departments in the store because I can always find a healthy treat such as raw almonds and yam chips. This store also had a large jewelry selection as well as a nice selection of bags and shoes. I have absolutely been missing out and I will definitely be returning for an encore. Watch me! read more

Oh god, I am in love with the Home Goods section. I think every TJ Maxx needs a Home Goods section like this location does. It has so much more than the other ones I've been to and it is freaking stocked. The other TJ Maxx Home Good stores might have little decorative pieces and small furniture, but this one has everything from tables to huge rugs to sofas. Last time, there was even an awesome twenty-foot rustic horse that was made from wires! Oh, if you ever want a Life-Proof case for your iPhone, this location has a bunch for like 50% off the retail price! I was very upset when I was going on vacation to the Cayman Islands and found out that Life-Proof cases were a hundred bucks a pop! When I gave up hope, I stumbled across the phone case section here and found the same exact ones for half the cost. Gosh, thank you TJ Maxx, now I can go to the beach without worry about water getting into my phone. They also have loads of dog beds and I've bought two of them there for such a great deal. For $14, I got a huge bed with luxurious faux fur and even I wanted to sleep on it. read more

I have a TJ Maxx store near me and it is exceptional in order and clean comfortable shopping. In conparison I find this TJ Maxx sometimes a bit messy. But I over look that because I primarily shop for clothes and this store has some of the best selections I've found. It is my "Go To Store" for a new seasonal perk to my wardrobe. And I am pleased to say, in general, the employees are friendly and helpful. I will be glad to return for my Fall shopping soon. Love it! N.M. read more

This is a huge store, with a Home Goods section attached. Very clean and well lit inside the store. Bathrooms were at the back of the store and were surprisingly clean as busy as it was. I was a little worried when I pulled in and saw several Gwinett Co. Police cars in the lot, but then saw officers leading out two women in handcuffs. Good for TJ for being pro-active and busting shoplifters, stealing only makes prices higher. Being right after Christmas, there were a lot of mark downs throughout the store. I went in looking for a new non-stick skillet and while they did have some, they weren't of the quality I was looking for. That's the fun of the Maxx though, its never the same thing twice. I was short on time, but would like to go back when I have longer to look around. read more

Staff good & selections good, but why are they allowing 296 people inside, some with no masks on inside or below their noses and lines are 45 mins long inside before you get to checkout -- all of the way to back wall and the line outside is also very long, but at least you are getting fresh air. Someone should be monitoring mask wearing, esp in the lines. read more

I like this TJ Maxx because it's a TJMaxx/Home Goods. TBH, ive never purchased anything on the TJ Maxx side. As for the home goods side, it's mostly hit or miss. You should definitely check it out as it's HUGE and selection is HUGE. The rug selection has some gems...oops shouldn't tell you that as i haven't gotten any yet. I've found some nice throws, ottomans, accent pieces etc. If you go on the weekend, the line will be super long. Best time to go is during the week in the morning when everyone is at work. Was able to do that when i first moved to the area but now can't do that anymore. Next door is Target and across the street is bed bath and beyond i believe. My directions suck sorry. read more

The shop has an excellent selection. However, be prepared to wait in line for a good thirty minutes (or more). Management NEVER calls for additional cashiers. Very poor customer service. This store has horrible customer service & unfortunately the "manager" on duty Pamela Trippany is even worse than the incompetent cashiers. Pamela Trippany made my shopping experience with Home Goods/TJ Maxx so extremely uncomfortable that I had to call Corporate which is something that I NEVER do. The bad experience I had with Homegoods was that I purchased a coffee mug that had Paris inscribed on it, I happened to grab a mug that was marked at $9.99 however I realized all of the other mugs were marked at $3.99, I brought it to the cashiers attention who then said she would have to check with her"manager". Over walks Pamela Trippany who never acknowledged or addressed me as the customer, and tells the cashier right there in front of me that she will still charge me $9.99 for the mug and that I could only get (1) mug for $3.99. Keep in mind only (1) mug was marked at $9.99, the other (6) were $3.99. I told the cashier to VOID the transaction and just ring me up for (1)$3.99 mug which again she had to "check with her manager"... unbelievable, I've worked in Retail/customer service before and if something is marked incorrectly you honor the price that is advertised and then you fix the confusion for future sales. You just lost a customer. Quick to take my money, but then question my return, even with a receipt. Then saying the tag doesn't match the item. Not my fault. That would be your employees fault for not tagging the item properly. Then you start accusing me like I'm a thief because I wanted to do the return with items and my original receipt that shows these items. Rude customer service. read more

Hispanic cashier unbelievable rude. I took some shorts that I had bought only two days ago. Still had the original tags on, store tag and receipt and she didn't want to exchanged it. Her reasoning was that the store tag didn't match the description of the shorts. When I asked to speak to her manager. He came and apologized, he said they sometimes mismatch the tags on clearance items. He asked her to do the return and walked away and she kept yapping about it. Even suggesting "I bought it at the mall, they don't make tags like that, and the costumer isn't always right" Unbelivable! I have shopped there for 5 years!!! I have never been mistreated by any staff memeber. I give kuddos to the nice gentleman store manager who came on my defense and asked her to walk away. My bad review goes to her! read more

I am a huge fan of TJ Maxx, I know all the employees at the location near my house. I always go out of my way to be nice and courteous, I understand how it is working in retail... but my goodness, the employees at this location (buford) are extremely rude. I waited in line for over 40 minutes. I needed to return an item and all the employees just talked and made jokes with each other and barely spoke to the customers or had any sense of urgency. When I got up to the line, I wasn't even greeted or spoken to, she just grabbed my return off the counter. She then went over to her manager and joked and laughed while I just stood there waiting. She then comes over and says she can't accept my return because the plastic was taken off the handbag... I proceeded to tell her that there wasn't any plastic on the handbag when I purchased it and she started laughing ... I really couldn't understand what was so funny. But I asked if I could speak to the manager because I didn't understand why they couldn't accept a return that was purchased literally one day ago. The tags were also still on the bag by the way. The manager wouldn't even come over to speak with me, nor was she busy. She just stood there joking with other employees. My cashier then came back (still laughing) and stated that the manager said "I would need to take it back to the TJ Maxx I purchased it from because they weren't going to take the fall for accepting a return with the plastic not on a handbag". I didn't even bother saying anything else, I just took my receipt and my item back and walked out the store as they still proceeded to laugh and make jokes.
