If I'm in a pinch and must shop there I spend more time going through the dates on the food than actually shopping. What should be a quick 5-10 minute shopping experience turns into an hour or more. A customer should not have to pull the expired food off the shelf! I have witnessed the employees put new produce on top of the old rotting produce. On several occasions I have asked to speak to a manager, but they are always "busy" or not there. I honestly think there is no manager! The employees are the rudest I have ever seen. If you happen to use WIC be prepared to have the cashier roll her eyes and sigh. I feel very unwelcomed here. I recommend no one to shop there.

Unfortunately, my interaction with Jesse completely changed my impression. He came across as condescending and unnecessarily rude while explaining their return policy. He repeatedly referred to it as a "24-hour policy," even though it had not been a full 24 hours since my purchase. He also remarked that returning a sandwich after "a whole day" was "crazy" and made it sound like honoring the return was a one-time exception. I understand that businesses have return policies, and I respect that. My issue wasn't with the policy itself--it was with the way I was spoken to. There is a professional way to explain a policy without making a customer feel like they're doing something unreasonable. I want to emphasize that the rest of the deli staff were courteous and helpful. My complaint is solely about Jesse and how he handled the situation. I hope management addresses the customer service aspect so that future customers are treated with the same respect shown by the rest of the staff.

They used to have more freshly made foods at their counter (like kimbap and pajeon) but it's been a long time since I've seen that... until last Saturday! I was really excited to see they had fresh pajeon (think korean pancake but not as a breakfast food) with seafood... always a favorite of mine if done well :) The owner is a nice woman and she's usually the one at the cash register unless her adult children are holding down the place. If you have any questions about what they carry or have, believe me they are really knowledgable and can help! Don't wander the aisles aimlessly looking around unless you want to. My mother prefers the produce here compared to Sun Asian Supermarket down the road but I also think she's a bit biased since we've been coming here since before Sun was even around. I've always been happy with their selection of Korean eats such as ramen, naengmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles), dried seaweed, different types of noodles, rice, wonton wrappers, potstickers/dumplings, fish and rice cakes (a must for your kimchi stew!) and much much more. Check out their ice chest across from the produce section, it is full of samgyeopsal, bulgogi and other frozen meats to meet your Korean BBQ desires! They also sell different sauces and marinades! This is place is my supplier for gochujang :) So, overall, I love this place but I'm biased, can't lie about that. It's easy to find what I want and the prices aren't as overly priced as Sun Supermarket (or last I checked). I do wish they had more fresh meats (it's all frozen) but that's really a small thing to me. They also carry Korean dramas on dvd (for cheap!) and some beauty products! So check out the Ponderosa store if you're looking to find some Korea gems (doesn't have to be just food!) I believe they carry some Chinese, Vietnamese, and Japanese brands but I can't speak to those as much, just know that they have them.

Carolina Butcher Shop has horrible customer service and is overpriced. Angier Meat Market has bad cuts and low quality meats. The Butcher Market in Holly Springs is insanely expensive. It's either Costco or here for me. I subscribe to their text messages for specials and every week they change but they always have something that's a good deal. This past week they had Dino ribs for $4.99/lbs. They are usually $9.99/lbs and this is one of the only shops I can actually find real plate ribs and not beef back ribs which are way thinner. They also had tomahawk ribeyes on sale for $12.99/lbs. For reference Carolina Butcher shop had them on sale for $19.99/lbs and Costco was $16.99/lbs...so a great deal. There is a bell by the back that you can ring and ask for help with a cut or if they have more inventory of a specific item. They often have great deals on marinated wings usually $0.99/lbs. The selection of BBQ rubs and sauces is unmatched in this area. For example, they have most of the Meat Church rubs for $10.99/lbs and the others might have a couple and charge $14-15 for a bottle. And the selection is crazy...they probably have 70-100 different BBQ rubs on the shelf....it's just insane. Service is always great, the staff is really friendly and kind, just what you'd expect from a ma and pa community store. It is pretty small and gets crowded quickly but the lines move fast.
