Rating: 1/5 Stars…read more Headline: Nightmare ant infestation on day one. I closed on my new build home on August 17, 2026, and it has been an absolute nightmare. During both my initial walkthrough and final pre-closing inspection, I pointed out an ant issue and was assured their contractor, Knox Pest Control, would handle it. They did not. Upon moving in, the house was overtaken by thousands of ants crawling through every room--kitchen pantry, bedrooms, laundry, and living areas. Both my small dog and I are constantly being bitten inside our own home. Multiple contractors and pest technicians have noted that the house appears to have been built directly over an active ant mound. Knox Pest Control's response has been completely ineffective. Their technician spent 10 minutes doing basic spot treatments, admitted he couldn't find the source, and completely ignored active areas outside. Follow-ups from management keep getting pushed back week after week while the infestation spreads. I have zero confidence in their ability to fix this. This negligence has cost me over $1,100 out-of-pocket: $1,000+ in ruined hair units: Ants infested my customized hair units, making them completely unusable due to hygiene and bite risks (fully documented on video). Pantry and personal items: Entire food stores and laundry had to be thrown out. I was told to make the purchase and bring the receipt. I ONLY repurchased about $145 of my loss...what I received in cash was $120 from Dream Finders Homes. $100+ in personal pest supplies: I've had to buy my own Raid Max and exterior granular treatments just to make the space somewhat tolerable. (I have the receipts). Buying a new home is supposed to be an exciting milestone, not a stressful, costly disaster. Dream Finders Homes needs to step up, reimburse my damaged property, replace Knox Pest Control with a competent company, and inspect the structural attic noises immediately.
