LONG VERSION:
We took our phone into this store for them to inspect it. They advised us to file a claim with the insurance, that what was wrong with the devices was not something a store could repair. We filed an insurance claim and the replacement phone was shipped to the Plant City T-Mobile store for us to pick it up when it arrived. It was supposed to arrive on Wednesday (5/6). I went by the store on Thursday at 4pm to see if it had arrived. It had. When the young man went back to get the phone, 15 or so minutes later he came back to the lobby to tell me that he messed up the code to the safe it was in and there is 30 minutes timer preventing him from getting in the store's safe to get the device. I told him that I would go next door to get a hair cut and come back. He told me that he had food being delivered soon and would be on break but assured me that someone else could activate the phone. He also assured me that it was okay if we didn't have the old phone with us, since they had already confirmed that the phone was not working properly and an insurance claim was required. I came back 45 minutes later, and he was on break. Another employee informed me that I would have to wait 30 minutes for him to be off break so he could finish up with me. I asked about someone else, and the young man walked to the back storage area. After returning 10 minutes later, he said everyone else was on break and I would have to come back in 45 minutes. I could not wait any longer so I decided to send my wife up to pick up the phone the following day. My wife went up on the next day around 2pm, and the young lady that works there told her that she could not access the safe and my wife would need to come back at a later time. My wife went back up at 7pm, without the old phone that we would be mailing back to the insurance company. A younger skinny employee was playing on his phone while customers were waiting to be helped. After my wife was pacing for a few minutes, he went approached her to help. She explained the situation, and went to the back to retrieve the phone. When her returned with the phone, he requested the old device, that she did not have with her. My wife relayed the above details, she the young lady from earlier that day walked over and snatched the phone from the other employees hand and returned to the back room to stow the phone. My wife asked for the phone, and she told my wife, "I'm not giving you the phone, you can leave the store." My wife came straight home to relay this mess. I grabbed her old phone and raced up to the store. I arrived at the store 4 minutes before close. The male employee had already locked the door. I asked him to open back up, that it was not 8pm yet. He said they were closed, despite the sign on the door saying 8pm. He then waved at me on slow motion as he lowered the blinds in my face.
his name is "Zay", by the way. I took a picture as he did it. These young adult have no respect or decency for other people. I cannot imagine a world where someone would treat another this way. And if matters weren't bad enough, while on the phone with customer service that same evening attempting to find a resolution to this, tech support informed me that a store employee CANCELED my insurance claim and the notation they placed in their system was that the old phone "failed the inspection". The Tech Representative confirmed that the only way they could make that designation was by physically inspecting the phone... that was NOT there. Dishonest, disrespectful, malicious, and petty.
I have been a customer of this company and its subsidiaries since 2000, I have literally had coverage with them longer than these employees have been alive. I have never been so discontent with a company. I understand that "this store" is not a "corporate store", that it is a "franchise". There is no excuse for abhorrent customer service and counterproductive behavior.
Tech support is file yet another claim which will take ANOTHER week to process, despite the replacement phone setting in the safe at this store. I do not trust that there is an internal accountability for their employees, that is why I am documenting this review and sharing it in hopes that it may linger long enough to get the attention of someone. Either someone that will be able to address this, or at least persuade some customers to seek help elsewhere. read more
