And that they would have to raise fares and increase other things because they owe so much money. But yet one day every month they (the top guys) have a catered lunch of nothing but the best. Shame on them. Almost as bad as St. Vinny's situation, ceiling falling in, they say they don't know were they are going to get the money, but Father Joseph White can accept a gift of FITTED golf clubs, and FREE golf lessons by the golf pro. Being the parish priest shouldn't he have declined and asked that the money go into the church that is crumbling overhead of him or it is as people believe, the only thing that matters to him is him. Please be advised that several people will be writing to you as the people who are leaving this parish in droves are disgusted with him and his attitude.

This…read morechurch (Roman Catholic) is the closest one near my apartment and while I am not a regular church-goer sometimes when I want to go to church (or when my mom guilt trips me) this is my go to place. It's a small church really with tall vaulted ceilings (well for South Boston). The priests are always nice and sometimes we'll get a funny sermon. The parish also offers confession starting half an hour before the saturday mass. The saturday afternoon mass (4 pm) is never full and I prefer going to that one since there are fewer families (no crying babies). Just a word of advice though, replace the female soprano/alto her voice is just annoying and I hate it when she starts singing prayers that are supposed to be spoken. Other than that, I have no complaints! A great little church with a small parking lot (but get there early if you want to snag a spot) in the back.

Bob called me shortly after he received my registration form to welcome me - only 2 days after he arrived at OLOS - wow! The 11:00 Sunday Mass was very well attended, and lovely, with a beautiful choir and sermon. The parishioners I met were very friendly and welcoming, so I hope Fr. Bob feels the love too, as they all seem very happy to have him, after their other beloved pastor retired. Fr. Bob seems to be very kind and caring and smart, and I was so touched that he kindly gave my sick (w/ cancer) dog (waiting in a shaded sun roofed car) a special St. Francis blessing! Thank you, Fr. Bob, and thank you to the friendly parishioners who welcomed me too!
