Tabisca is a specialty wine and gourmet shop about a block from the Roman Amphitheatre in the historic centre of Lecce. It also offers great meals. Indeed, we had a unique dinner experience at Tabisca Lecce and we very much enjoyed it. Their specialties are crostoni, charcuterie boards ("tabisce"), cheeses, roasted meats, tartare, carpacci and other dishes characteristic of Salento and Puglia. (FYI, however, they're not a pasta house). Our waiter was extremely helpful and attentive; he gave us a well-informed discussion on what made sense for 3 people, including specific choices, varieties and extras. Their wine list also is terrific, and he spent time pairing several bottles with our meal. We had a great Puglian Tabisca (charcuterie board), spinach and cheese torte, grilled seasonal veggies, lamb ribs and roasted pork loin (the latter delivered on a Himalayan salt plate, which continued to lightly cook the meat tableside.) Great food, casual and friendly atmosphere, great wine, and great service...couldn't be bettered. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommended. read more
