I had set up tent rental with tables and chairs for my son high school graduation for mid June 2024.I had it reserved mid-April 2024, paid half deposit and the balance I paid in full mid-May 2024 (1 month before the party). On that Monday before graduation I texted **** to confirm what date he will be coming to install the tent. He answered 'let me check'. The next day (about 24 hours later), I texted him again to confirm and he replied 'I'll check'. I asked him to confirm as soon as possible. The following day, which was Wednesday (my son grad party was on Saturday) he texted me that he did not know yet as there was storm that day and they still had tents for Thursday and Friday to set up and could be Saturday morning. I mentioned the party is Saturday at 11:00am and I had not worked with companies previously that installed the tent on day off. I wanted to make sure he would give me time to set up that day and decorations. He replied there are lots of companies that set up graduation tents the morning of, they will not risk their lives for me to do decorations. Of course I was not asking him on that Wednesday, so not sure why he even said that. He said worse case would be Saturday at 7am arrival/set by 8. I answered I understand and to let me know. On Friday, around 5:45pm I texted him to confirm me and also left him a voice mail. At 7:03pm, I texted him again to let me know so I knew for sure he was coming. At 9:35pm, he texted me that he is cancelling my order and refund my money claiming that the environment for his employees would be too hostile at my place. I never said anything hostile, just asking him for confirmation. He knew all along he would not be able to meet his commitment for our order and use this excuse to put us in a terrible situation less than 24 hours before our party. My instinct was right. This is terrible business practice, very unprofessional and would never recommend him to anyone. It was the meanest thing I experienced as customer. read more

I want to add my recent terrible experience with MINNESOTA TENT and PARTY Rental to this thread. I am realizing that this company seems to also go by the names of OMEGA EVENT RENTAL & TABLE and TENT EVENTS - I wish I had known that earlier and connected these reviews here with this company. I had reserved two tent packages with Doug in March for my daughter's graduation party in June. I even paid the premium for Peak tents since Doug mentioned that they are nicer looking, less used and therefore in better condition. 6 days before my event, Doug confirmed he will be delivering the tents on Thursday/friday and ran my credit card for the remaining balance. On Thursday, Doug and two high school boys showed up with the tents and tables. Doug dropped off the tables, left the boys to set up the tent and left saying that he would be back to deliver the chairs. I checked in on the boys setting up the tents every now and then and when they finally had the tents up, I went to look at them from inside and found them to be extremely dirty/shabby looking (black dirty spots all over and even noticed some cobwebs hanging) and one of the tents even had some holes. There was one decent sized hole right in the middle next to the center pole and there were a few other smaller holes. When I pointed these to the boys, they said they would let Doug know and they left. I tried calling/texting Doug several times in the hope that he would stop by to take a look and offer some solutions (maybe there was a way to clean the tents & patch the holes) but he did not respond for 4 hours. When he finally responded, he just said there was nothing wrong with the tents - just regular wear & tear (without even taking a look at the tents). I then sent him a picture of the underside of the tent to show how dirty it was and to show him the big hole in the center and asked him to confirm if this was what he meant by regular wear & tear. He did not respond to the picture. I finally asked him to just take the tents down since they were no where near presentable condition and he promptly responded saying he would take them down the next morning provided I agree that I will not get any refund since he could have used these tents elsewhere had I not reserved them! Next morning, the two boys came to deliver the chairs & remove the tents. He did not have the decency to show up even once and look at the tents with me or address my issues. Customer satisfaction was obviously not his concern - just that he gets to keep the money that I had paid him. Once my event was over, I wrote an email to Doug summarizing my experiencing and expressing my dissatisfaction with his service along with several pictures of the tent. As expected, he did not respond. In the end, not only do I feel that I was cheated, my event suffered since I did not have any tents to provide shade to my guests and neither did it have the look and feel that I desired.  This was the WORST customer service I have EVER experienced in all my interactions with the service industry in the past. read more

I would highly recommend steering clear of this company. We originally contacted Doug (owner) to scope out our desired venue, as we live out of state, because we wanted to make sure the tent we needed would fit at this venue. Doug emailed us indicating that he drove to the venue and measured the area and that it would indeed fit and that the tent would be able to go over the tree in the middle of the yard. Based on this good news, we sent Doug a $5,000 security deposit, as we knew we would at least be able to have our wedding at this spot. The next time we were up in Minnesota we went to the venue with Doug and everyone basically stood there in awe (including Doug) wondering how a tent would ever fit over this giant tree smack dab in the middle of the yard. It was as if he never actually scoped out the area to begin with or maybe he went blind, I'm not sure. He then confirmed it would not fit. Very long (and painful) story short, we spent several months trying to get our deposit back from him (in the midst of wedding planning) and he refused to pick up the phone and talk to us. Its over a year later and that $5,000 still sits with Doug for being nothing but a hassle. We thankfully never used his services, yet he still has our money. WHAT A JOKE. read more

I wanted to share a very negative experience I had with MINNESOTA TENT AND PARTY RENTAL at our recent event on Saturday, May 1, 2021. I had hired them to provide tents, tables and chairs for our outdoor nonprofit festival. Upon arrival, the owner and only 1 employee were setting up 20 tents. Our event volunteers jumped in to help them as we needed to get signage up as soon as possible. I was quickly notified by our event consulting team that the tents were not set up properly and could potentially pose a threat if there was an increase in wind or worst a storm. I quickly spoke to Doug about the setup which included only putting up 2 of the 4 required interior bars and only 2 weights per tent (4 required). These weights were not secured in the poles of the tents and were basically just tied down. Doug said "I always set my tents up this way and they will be fine." Unfortunately, they were not fine. On the day of our festival the wind picked up and they were blowing all over the place, one almost collapsed on top of the sponsors at that station. Our volunteers served as tent holders and many of them took down their signs and anything that might help keep the tents up. I immediately called Doug and left him a message to please come and fix all of these tents. I also sent him a text. He never responded nor has he reached out to me to apologize or make amends. We ended up having to cut our signs to help keep them up for the event. In addition, the tents were old and filthy. I asked if they had been powered washed and Doug claims that they all had been washed by hand--hard to believe given the amount of dirt inside of them. In fact, I had to call another tent company to replace our presenting sponsors tents (3 tents) due to the lack of cleanliness and appearance of the tents. I had asked for a significant discount due to this and Doug never responded which seems very natural for him as he never thanked any of our volunteers for helping him that day and he simply disappeared without even checking in with me in advance. No phone call or even an apology to try and make it right. For your safety and the safety of your company and guests, please do not use him for any purpose. read more

We put down large deposit 9 mo in advance to secure a tent, dance floor, tables, 150 chairs, etc for an outdoor wedding reception. On day of delivery, tent was dirty and had a hole in it, chairs and tables just stacked up, no set up. Dance floor size was wrong, and told if we wanted bigger we'd have to come get it. Chairs were dirty and had to be all cleaned. Linens for tables (15) were wrong sizes and dirty. Nothing ordered from this company was right, and owner (Doug) doesn't return phone calls, only sends out e-mails with excuses. Didn't try to make anything right and ignores communication about his company's flaws. read more

Hiring Omega to do the tent set-up, tables, chairs and some provide glasses was the only regret from an otherwise wonderful wedding. When we were looking at vendors, Doug was good at returning our calls. Unfortunately, his communication close to the wedding was terrible. He refused to return my wife's calls. She kept asking him to call her, and he never did. On the day of the wedding he sent an email to "remind" us to have the water turned on at the event site so he could fill the barrels to stake the tent. That reminder should have been sent days earlier because it caused way to much stress on the wedding day. The final straw was he brought over USED champagne glasses. They had dried wine in a large number of the glasses. We had to wash them and there was very little time to do that. It was disgusting and should never have happened. I wish there was an option to leave a negative stars rating! This company is awful! They were hired for services for my wedding and cancelled the week before. The entire time I have had to deal with the "president" Doug has been miserable, he is shady! He writes down your credit card info and then sends a receipt later, I had to call him countless times to get mine, this is after not being able to get a hold of him for 3+ weeks!!! How is that any way to run a business?! And then he cancels! RED FLAG! Save yourself the time & stress, do not bother with them! read more

If I was able, Doug and his shoddy company, if you can even call it that, would get a negative million rating. Months ago, I contacted him to arrange a graduation package. No problem, paid for it up front. The week comes, I contact them to confirm, and am asked if it is ok if they deliver on Sunday AM vs the originally planned Saturday evening, I agree as our event starts at noon on Sunday and as long as it is there in the morning. Then Saturday afternoon, I get a call saying they will deliver and set up that day instead, great, no problem. 30 minutes later, Doug emails me to inform me that we were back to Sunday morning, again no problem.. Then, Sunday, the day of the graduation party, at 9:15 they are not there and no communication from Doug. I call and email asking what the status is and am told 10 am is what they are shooting for.and to ask for my address.. I reply stating that I am now not happy as time is running short and express my annoyance at the fact they had to ask my address?? A few min later I get another email saying..."Sorry, I will cancel the order and refund your money". WHAT?? Are you kidding me??? Ten emails and Ten Phone calls back to him and no response.. Grad party in two hours... No tables, no chairs, no tent... Doug, I hope you read this, as I am seriously considering filing a suit for breach of contract.. Also, both my wife and I are in the hospitality business, with enough contacts and business partners to make sure that every catering company, event planner, and foodservice pro in a 50 mile radius knows not to EVER contact you for anything EVER.. Good luck staying in business, you screwed over the wrong people. read more

We booked a large tent with Doug over a year before our wedding. He assured us that he had done several weddings at our venue before, while warning us the tent set up was a little different because it was a rooftop. We figured he was the expert and would figure out what needed to be done, rain or shine. Communication was good before the wedding and he seemed to be pretty organized. This is why we were shocked when he cancelled on us two days before our wedding, with rain in the forecast. He notified us that he had just discovered he was not covered by his insurance should any damage happen as a result of his tent set up not following manufacturer guidelines. It is good he found this out but the timing put us in a next to impossible predicament two days before our wedding which is already an extremely stressful period. He said he processed our refund, gave us the name of another tent company and then that was it. No further response to our calls or emails. After several hours of thinking our wedding reception was ruined we found a smaller tent and a company who was willing to help us. Because Doug had processed our refund on a Thursday we didn't have it by the time we had to pay for our other tent the next morning, so we had to ask our family for money. My husband and I can't make any judgments on the quality of his products but the quality of his service is lacking and working with him made our preparation process a nightmare. read more
