The store is very coastally cute with nautical items, an abundance of Cape Charles branded items and the little trinkets I remember obligatory buying for friends and family when I went on vacation without them. However, make no mistake, not everything in here is kitschy. If the vibe in your home is nautical, they have a huge selection of kitchen wares, decor, candles and more that go with that theme. It can be easy to get swept away in that feeling (no pun intended) In the back of the store, they have a fairly large toy section which is going to delight the heck out of any kid! Overall, this shop is very sweet and a worthy stop on your stroll through Cape Charles. It's on the main downtown block in Cape Charles, surrounded by other sweet local businesses. We're driving down Route 13 toward Jersey, and I see signs for various gift shops that sell ham,…read morebacon, cigarettes AND fireworks. No way. My boyfriend grudgingly stops here, but stays in the car. I, on the other hand, gleefully jump out and head on in. To my delight, there are three couples walking around the gift shop. One couple starts perusing the huge selection of fireworks. The other two couples hovered over the bags of cured bacon sold by the pound (pre-packaged). Intrigued, I too, hover on over to hear what the nice store lady had to say. Seems like this bacon is a big hit in the area. Two couples each walked out with 5-6 bags of it. The other couple and I purchase one (mine was 1.15 lbs for around $10). Looking forward to tossing some of it with pasta, and enjoying it with eggs for breakfast. Oh, and I got a 20 fl. oz. bottle of diet coke for a buck. Woohoo!! Note: this ain't no fancy gift shop. This is just a fun road side joint selling items from bacon to fireworks (to belly lint brushes). Enjoy!

The inside is filled with cool handmade and nautical-themed items. Some look like they're locally handmade while some look like they were probably purchased, sourced, or brought in. I saw some driftwood mermaids, some funny signs, a lamp filled with sea glass, tons of shells for purchase as a group or individually and various other items. What really catches your eye from the street is the large hewn wood slabs you can make a table or some furniture or decor items from. Most of them are pretty reasonable with 3ft by 5ft or so ones costing between $30-50 depending on the width.

The young lady didn't make room for me to look, but hey, we're still kinda in the midst of COVID, so I made my way to an opposite wall where I looked at a shirt. It didn't have a price so I asked a second young lady, "How much?". She acted as though I was bothering her when she came over, looked at it, told me the price (without making any eye contact), and then went back behind the counter. That's when I noticed the first young lady, that was previously at the earrings, went behind the counter. The bell went off in my head, "oh she works here." It was at that moment, I said, "Let's go!" I realized they were both being rude and possibly didn't want "me" in the store. I was going to keep it to myself, but my friend said, "Wow she was rude."
