I noticed this on my second taco, I unfortunately didn't specifically look in the first taco's tomatoes, so I don't know if that was the only moldy one. I went up to the counter and showed the manager, I didn't see his name, on shift at 6:30pm on 10/29/25. He didn't even apologize when asking if I wanted a refund. I wasn't thinking clearly, due to a personal reaction I had to seeing the mold on the taco, when asking for an additional taco because I was still hungry. He wasn't friendly during this, and once I got my refund, he still never apologized. When I went back I finally lost my appetite and wasn't sure what I was thinking asking for a new taco. When trying to eat a taco with no tomato, the taco shell was very stale. I just gave up. When he came back with the additional taco I said thank you very much he was silent. Sadly, this wasn't our first rough interaction with this location and this manager. A few months ago, we were in the drive thru, and he was again very rude when I didn't understand him telling me there was no more mango refresca left and I panicked bc of his attitude. I can't remember at the moment what it was, but there was also missing food and the food we got was cold. My girlfriend left a review about this issue and the manager got back to her right away to explain that he was having a bad day and that's why he was rude and why we had to drive thru again to get our missing food. We gave him the benefit of the doubt and accepted a $30 giftcard to take down the bad review. I'm sad because this Taco Bell is the closest to me, and now I have to make an effort to definitely avoid it, now. read more

WORST TACO BELL EVER! Employees all on their phones and pay zero attention to their customers

This past Thursday night I made the mistake of having Taco Bell delivered. I hereby pledge I will never do this again as the tacos arrived room temperature with the meat cold, the vegetables lukewarm, almost all of the crunchy shells were soggy and the bottoms fell out of them when picking them up and trying to eat them. Should have stopped after the first few but made the mistake of eating six of the 12 pack. I have a feeling that this was not just a delivery issue because a few of the tacos did have crunchy shells which leads me to believe the extra soggy ones were sitting around before they were packed up for delivery. Spent the next 24 hours with very uncomfortable gastrointestinal distress. I blame the tacos for this because for breakfast and lunch I had an Atkins shake. I found it telling that as I was writing a review on doordash there was a notation that this was a private review for the restaurant only. Sounds like they don't want these kinds of reviews getting out to the public in my humble opinion. read more

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews about this place and I think it is definitely time for a good one. Since this particular location is close to my home I frequent it when I want to treat myself to something quick as a reward for shopping (I hate shopping). I used to always get a tostada but recently they removed that particular item from their menu. When I expressed my dismay that it was no longer available the guy that took my order quickly offered to make one for me. That was just so nice. Not wanting him to go to such trouble I just got a taco instead. I just love their tacos.....always just the right number of toppings. Recently I have been ordering their chalupa box. For five bucks you get a chalupa, burrito, chips with cheese sauce and a drink. You really can't beat that price. What I really need to mention though is the friendliness of the staff. Ordered via DoorDash to this Taco Bell and when I had received my order they had completely messed up my order. I received only half of the requested foot items in my order. I ordered the 5$ box, 2 tacos and a burrito and only received the box and then a crunch wrap supreme which wasn't even close to my order. Either the people working just didn't care because the stamp on the bag had my name and order on it. Highly displeased and would not recommend ordering here. PS Door dash called them to have them redo the order and they didn't believe they messed up. I will be adding pictures for proof. PSS it wasn't a Crunchwrap it was a tostada with black beans which I hate black beans so I wasn't even able to enjoy anything of what they sent. My kids had never been to Taco Bell before, and they were asking. Instead of explaining that it tends to be as good an idea as sticking your fork into an electrical outlet, I caved in and took them. There are a few items on the menu that are definitely guilty pleasures, so I acquiesced and away we went. This location was reasonably clean. That's about the only positive I can come up with off the top of my head. The person taking my order told me a couple of the menu items I ordered did not exist. I simply pointed incredulously at the menu posted behind her and was amused as she dropped her jaw in apparent shock and awe to learn that I did not make up the term "Gordita" and, yes, they do serve them. She then struggled to make change and I patiently helped her with the hard parts. After the fun of the ordering process, I took our tray as one of the kitchen workers called my name with thinly veiled annoyance. I took the tray back to my waiting kids, who got to sample several different offerings. I will say the shredded chicken burrito was as good as I remember it and it served to bump my rating to 2 stars. The rest was also, sadly, as I remembered it. Alright, my fiance loves Taco Bell. We probably stop twice a month in Hastings when doing our grocery shopping for some cheap burritos. His top three are a bean burrito, bean and rice, and beefy frito burrito. Every time, they are loaded, tasty, and filling. Not at this location. The bean burrito tasted rancid. Bean and rice was bland, even for taco bell. And the beefy frito had no fritos! Gotta have that crunch. I got a loaded griller, and it was 90% tortilla and 10% filling. It was so dry I couldn't eat it. I wanted to throw it out the window but I didn't want to give the birds food poisoning, or hit Jack Black. Something must be going on that they're being so cheap. Also, with four burritos we got four sauce packets. It's double handfuls or nothing for us. Service was alright, but when I called they just told me, "That's how we're told to make them." Yeah ok. This used to be a decent location, but I won't be coming in again. The Hastings location has been improving over the last year, so I'll stick with it when we need some fast nasty food. read more

The cashier at this location, Rosie E, is top of the line. She's always beyond pleasant, doesn't come off as fake, and always has a smile on her face. Although Taco Bell is one of my favorite fast food restaurants, Rosie really gets my visit off to a great start every time I come. I've even been there during peak lunch rushes, and she doesn't change, ever. Rosie is the epitome of what a business should have as a point person. This lady needs a raise, seriously. I shouldn't need to mention, but the food is always 5 star, as far as fast food Mexican style goes. Love, love love!!! read more

What TB has been doing in the past has been just ok, meh, but the kind of person and character that Valerie represents is what needs to change in the fast food industry. The staff wasn't very friendly and the place had a foul odor. The man serving me had a beard with food in it. I was hoping it would be quick, but it took forever to get my food. This is easily the worst Taco Bell I've ever been to. Not only did we wait in line in the drive through for 20 minutes, there were only 2 cars in front of us and there were 6 staff members. 2 were just hanging out chatting. We ordered 3 chalupas, chicken, no tomato. The FIRST time we got all beef and you guessed it... tomato. The second time, we got our chicken chalupas after 10 minutes ... with no one in line, but it came with tomato and no sour cream. WEIRD. To top it all off the manager could not care less. Don't go to 2829 28th street, Grand Rapids, MI 49512 (near Woodland Mall) if you want to be social to dine in at this restaurant. The cashier (Rosie) will come and tell you that it is her customers "QUIET TIME" during happy hour (2 - 5pm) and you are much too loud to talk and laugh at that time. I wish they had posted a sign before I entered to mingle today. I usually go to this Taco Bell 2 to 3 times per week, during Happy Hour, to meet with friends; however, no more. If I cannot talk and mingle with friends then what is the point in going into this establishment. If I want to have peace and quiet, I will go to the library. I guess I found out that this place is a library during happy hour. Maybe that is why there were only two other customers when I was there with my children and another adult and her child. read more

Even yesterday when I stopped and they were swamped, the young lady at the register was great.
